I originally played Skies of Arcadia on the Dreamcast, so I have knowledge of both versions. It seems to me that the Legends is a bit harder then the Dreamcast version boss wise, and I noticed that there was no guide, so I decided I would make a guide. This guide is meant to help on all the main bosses of the game, I will eventually get to the secret ones as well. Send me alternate strategies as well. During the course of reading this guide, you may notice that I don’t have the very basics in here, I will assume you know them. Note that I will try not to say "This boss is SOOOOO easy you wont even be hurt by him at all!" because some people are not as good of players as I am, and may have trouble with that boss. Lastly, my levels are going to be incredibly high, for I am an obsessive level builder, so you don’t need to be that high. I will have a recommended HP level though. Anything you think is wrong, or if you have easier strategies, EMail me, I will be willing to put them in here. Note: There ARE spoilers in this guide. I haven’t really added story spoilers, but I have added all the bosses, and some later boss references. Nothing too major. Just a warning before you proceed. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- =-=- Version and Update Information: -=-= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Version .88: November 15th, 2003: Finally another update. I added 3 more boss strategies (man, I want to redo this entire guide) and completely reformatted. Version .85: July 21st 2003: Sorry peoples! Yes I know it has taken me 6 months for an update...bah2me. Basically I added a lot of the strategies from others. I plan on finishing this one soon. Sorry again people. Version: . 83: February 23rd 2003: I havnt been working with this one as much..I have the full walkthrough of Breath of Fire 5 as well as this to update. I Promise i will try and update this more often. Keep the Emails coming! Added another way to beat Elcian from a reader. Version .82: February 19th 2003: Ran Spell Check. Also made some minor changes on the Boss List. Also thinking about making a list of all Zivilyn Banes. Version .80:February 18th 2003: FINALLY! A Vize strategy! Also the Giant Looper, and a bit of Roc. Sadly, Vize was not as hard for me as I had hoped he would be. Plan to get farther in the next few days. An soon, I am planning on starting over to get those damned colors I missed. Also, again, I am thinking of adding my equipment when I fought the boss. Just a thought....I have to get this back on Word though....I haven’t spell checked it in a while, and I have a feeling I have a million typos in here. Version .75: February 16th and 17th 2003: So much to type up so little time. I am past Glacia, and have boss info, but it may take me a while to type it all up, so I may have to finish past there tomorrow.....I am trying to make these all pretty good, but at certain points, there are just battles that you have to follow what you just normally do....and that is jut making me freak, as I hate not writing exactly what I do. Buuuuuuut people have their own ways of fighting, so I am just writing basically what the boss is capable of, and what I did...so much work....But the next update and this one should be BIIIIIIG. Also have Vize info and info on all of the sky battles. I am also thinking about adding something called my Equipment for each battle, so as it will be easier to see how I did as much(or little) damage as I did. Version .65: February 15th 2003: The Update thing is all screwed up. it updates once a day, and I accidently updated twice or three times one day, and so these are always posted the next day. Mad, mad, mad. But I added some more peoples strategies for bosses, as mine will not be perfect, as we each follow our on style of game play, and two of the optional Ship battles. Version .60: February 14th 2003: BIIIIIIIG update today. Lots of new boss info, and more secret bosses covered. I plan to ad other peoples strategies on beating bosses soon as well. Version .40: February 13th 2003: Added 4 new boss strategies. I have to learn not to stay up so late playing the game...I have been writing this at 2 AM most of the time, as that is when I am mostly awake. So much to do, so little time. I am working my ass off with this thing, trying to make sure it is perfect, and then I realize, I forgot to do the colors. I have added them to some bosses, but I may have to start over. If I do, it will probably in the DC version, as I have an early save there. Also added info on Elcian's items. Version .33: February 12th 2003: Some minor changes. Fixed a few typos, and changed a bit. Added info on Elcian and Antonio 2 as well as a fixed mistake of Captains Stripe. Also added information From Justin, who gave me a hint about beating all the hidden bosses. And my updating dates are wrong for me...I will have to get this batter. Lastly, I made the ---- to make sure people can see the big areas better. I am going to have to somehow make them more obvious to people. Version .31(and a half): February 10th 2003: Some small improvements. From info I gathered from the instruction manual, I realized that with the hidden bounty bosses, there HP rises as yours does(as well as their attack power.)As well as a hint to beat the bounty bosses. Version .31: February 9th 2003: I had to reformat it to get it posted...minor changes as of yet today, hope to have bigger ones soon. Version .30: February 7th 2003: Added Skills section. Working on Vyse, Aika and Fina. The others I will wait with. Version .25: February 6th 2003: Info on the secret boss Barta and Rupee, as well as De Loco's first Chameleon battle. Version .20: February 5th 2003. I just started this guide. I plan on having all the first few bosses covered, as well as the characters. Magic is taking longer then expected, but I want to finish it tonight as well. Update: Stupid stupid me. I for got to put the Color of a lot of the bosses. I was going to replay the game anyway, but I may have to do it sooner then I though. I have been writing them down from today on though, so I will have at least 2/3 of the game with Colors. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- -=-= Main Characters: -=-= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Vyse: Weapon: Dual Cutlasses Starting level: 1 Profile: Vyse is your main character in Skies of Arcadia Legends. He the son of the Blue Rogue leader, Dyne. He is also the heir to the Dyne legacy. Strengths: Vyse is your main physical attacker throughout the entire game. He is fast, and has a rather good hit percentage. He also has the strongest super move in the entire game. He can also equip the heaviest armor. Weaknesses: Vyse is normally well rounded, while that is a strength, it is also a weakness. He the average line on magic power. And he cant increase it as well because of his lack of ability to wear robes. Recommended Skills: Vyse, as the main physical attacker, should work up on building his super moves. Use almost all of the first few Moonberries you find on him. I usually have his last skill, Pirates Wrath before the boss in Pyrynn temple. As for spells, I usually keep Vyse starting with Red, and then once I get the purple, I put him on that and keep him there. -------------------- Aika: -------------------- Weapon: Boomerang Starting Level: 1 Profile: Aika lost her parents when she was very young. She was basically adopted by Vyse’s parents, and so Vyse and Aika grew up together. Feisty and short tempered, her attitude matches her hair color. Strengths: Aika is amazing, I personally find her invaluable in random encounters. She is the fastest character is the game, and has the highest hit percentage. She is a great healer because of her fast feet. She has 2 super moves that hit all enemies, and once you get enough spirit points to use it on the first turn (8) then random encounters become much easier, and less of a hassle. Lastly, she has rather high magic attacking power, making her useful throughout. Weaknesses: Aika is a great, but other then her strengths, she is average all around. Her defense isn’t very high, and her hit point average, forcing you to keep her more toward magic or healing. Strategy: A good strategy with Aika I found is to keep her with a green weapon until she gets to at least level 5(which for me is before or during Valua). She is a great healer, and you must exploit it. And after you get Fina, and have a level 5 Green spell, I suggest putting her on Silver until she learns Rislem. Then it all up to you after that. Here is an Aika trick (for random encounters) I learned and mentioned a bit earlier. Aika, as the fastest character almost always attacks first. So, you should get her with the Lambda Burst special as soon as possible. Once your party has 8 or more SP on the first turn of battle have Aika cast Lambda Burst. By the time I got the SP (right after Pyrynn) it would kill 90% of the enemies in one hit, and remains useful throughout the entire game. This also works with Omega Cyclone, when you have 13 SP on the first turn. ------------------- Fina: ------------------- Weapon: Cupil Starting Level:1 Profile: One of the last remaining Silvites, Fina was sent to gather the moon crystals to stop the corrupt people in the world from destroying the world once again. When her ship is shot down, she is rescued by Vyse, and her adventure begins. Strengths: Fina is the main spell caster of Skies of Arcadia Legends. She excels at any type of spell and learns any type quickly. She is a great healer, as her last super move completely revitalizes your entire party, and Fina ALWAYS goes first when using it. Weaknesses: Like all spell casters in RPG’s, Fina is weak physically. She has low defense and HP as well. She is also rather slow in the beginning of the game. Lastly, she starts off at level one, when your other characters are at least level 13. Strategy: Fina is the main spell caster, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t build up her super moves. Fina’s first, and last moves are totally invaluable. The last one will save your butt, god, I don’t know how many times. And it also help save MP you wont have to use on healing spells. I usually bring her Silver magic to level 2, and then change her weapon color to green so she will be the main healer. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- -=-= Sub Characters: -=-= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- ------------------ Drachma: ------------------ Weapon: Artificial Arms Starting level: 13 (which at the time you get him is high) Profile: Drachma is the aged sailor bent on vengeance against the arch whale Rhaknam. He is cold, and a loner, but his past, as well as his future are clouded. He owns the ship, "Little Jack". Strengths: Drachma is the strongest physical attacker in the game. He literally grinds his enemies to grimy pulp with his arms. He has the games highest HP, and can equip all the strongest armors. Weaknesses: Drachma is the slowest character, meaning less evasion and a lower hit percentage. And he cant hit at all. He also cant cast magic at all. He takes longer then anyone else to learn spells. And his magic, even if you learn it is extraordinarily low. And, well, IMO his super moves aren’t the greatest. Strategy: I don’t really use Drachma too much, but I am still going to try and write this a bit. Drachma is not good at magic, so build up his super moves. I don’t suggest building him up at all in fact, but if you want to, start with the super moves. ------------------ Gilder: ------------------ Weapon: Gun Starting level: 24 Profile: Gilder is your resident gunslinger of the pack. He is a black pirate who loves the freedom he gets from sailing the Skies of Arcadia. Yet, something gives me a sneaking suspicion that he doesn’t roam the skies at that quick pace because he wants to.... Strengths: Gilder is hard to rate with strengths and weaknesses. He is an average character all around who doesn’t excel in anything really. But he does have a higher then average physical attack. Weaknesses: Gilder has a slightly lower then average magic, and it takes him longer to learn it then say, Vyse. But then again, he is hard to rate with strengths and weaknesses, as he is your balanced character. But I have to say, his super moves aren’t the greatest. Strategy: Well...my first time through the game, I didn’t realize you could change characters for the final few dungeons, so I was stuck with him. I built up all of his Super moves first, and had his weapon color at whatever I needed at the time. He is balanced, so the strategy to use with him is entirely up to you. He is best at physical attacks though, so focus him there more then magic. ------------------- Enrique: ------------------- Weapon: Rapier Starting Level: 26 Profile: Enrique is the prince of Valua, and the only heir to the throne. He realizes his mothers intentions and ways of ruling are wrong, and decides to rebel. As a prince, he has been well educated about the world, and knows much. Except the poor guy has an absolutely weakness for air sickness. Strengths: Vyse and Enrique share a lot of the same traits. But Enrique has the stronger in magic of the two, and the weaker attacks. He is a great magic user, and his physical attacks are quite strong as well. He also has an incredibly strong final super move. Weaknesses: Enrique, like Vyse is pretty well balanced. But Enrique’s attacks are a little over average, since his weapons aren’t the most powerful things you will find. He also doesn’t seem to have the best defense. Lastly, in the party he will almost always attack last. At least for a while. Strategy: I always build Enrique up with magic first. He is great with support magic, and attack magic. But he isn’t good at healing, since he is rather slow. I like to start him with Yellow magic, and then as he gets more spells Red and Green spells later. Silver may also be valuable in his hands, so you may choose to have him powerful there. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- -=-= Skills: -=-= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Skills are special abilities that are awakened when a character has a certain number of moonberries. You can find Moonberries from encounters, in treasure chests, and just about anywhere. You must awaken your skills (Super moves, as they are know in this game) in order. I will show you all the skills for each character, moonberries it takes to revive them, Spirit it takes to use, their order, and what they do in battle. The basic layout will look like this: Character name: I will put the name of the character before the skills.(Note: This will only be used on the top of the skills list for each character.) Skill: The skill name SP: Spirit it takes to revive the super move Moonberries: The number of moonberries it takes to revive the skill Overview: A basic look at what the skill does Now onto the skills! ------------------------------------------------------ ---- Vyse: ---- ------------------------------------------------------ Skill: Cutlass Fury SP:7 Moonberries:0 This is the only super in the game that comes already learned. Overview: Cutlass Fury is a great skill to use throughout the entire game, as it works well on all enemies. Though in the beginning it takes a while to get enough spirit to use it. It does from 300( at the very beginning of the game) to 2,000(at the end) points of damage to a single enemy. While not nearly as deadly as Pirates Wrath, this can be use more often as the smaller Spirit usage make for 3 to Pirates Wrath’s one. This is a must use throughout th entire game. I prefer using it on Loopers as it doesn’t miss. Skill: Counterstrike SP:1 Moonberries:1 Overview: Counterstrike allows Vyse to counter all attacks for one round of combat. If used properly, it can help deal a lot of damage, but I personally prefer having Vyse attack each round, as he counters more often then not anyway. Skill: Rain of Swords SP:14 Moonberries:2 Overview: Rain of Swords hits all enemies for a decent amount of Yellow damage. While it does more damage the say, Aika’s Lambda Burst, the spirit cost is much higher. And you usually want to pull off ranged attacks first thing in battle, you cant with this, as Vyse isn’t as fast as Aika. You will find that Aika’s ranged skills work much better then this, but this one can be useful if your enemies seemingly aren’t taking damage. Skill: Skull Shield SP:10 Moonberries:2 Overview: Skull Shield lower physical attack damage, as well as helps you counter enemies easier for one round of combat. While some people will find this useful, I didn’t use it more then two times the few times over I have played the game. For that much spirit you can cast Increm two times, and still have Sprit to spare. Skill: Pirates Wrath SP:21 Moonberries:4 Overview: Pirates wrath is the Skies of Arcadia Legends’ ultimate attack spell(with a single person). It constantly does over 3,000 damage from the moment you get it. It takes a HUGE amount of Spirit to use it though, so prepare to do some focusing to use it early on. I usually get this sill during the temple of Pyrynn section. This is the ultimate boss killer, as it does so much damage. When Vyse is Incremed, it can do upwards 5,000 damage. ------------------------------------------------------ ---- Aika: ---- ------------------------------------------------------ Skill: Alpha Storm SP:4 Moonberries:1 Overview: Alpha Storm is somewhat like Yellow spells. It hits the enemies in a straight line of the enemy targeted. The good news, is that it has a larger range then the yellow spells. The bad news is that the range still isn’t that big. But as this skill is rather cheap, you can use it a lot in the beginning of the game. Skill :Delta Shield SP:2 Moonberries:1 Overview: Delta Shield blocks all magic attacks from allies and enemies for one turn. This can be a blessing if you are up against a strong magic user. I don’t really use this spell a whole lot, but I know a lot of places I could put it to use. The Elcian battle is where it is practically required. But some of the bosses in the game become extremely easy with this skill. But be warned, you cant heal with magic, so make sure you have enough crystals to heal with. Skill: Lambda Burst SP:8 Moonberries:2 Overview: I love this skill. It is the skill I probably use most in the game. Since Aika is fast, she can get it off almost immediately. And once you start a battle with 8 SP you can officially obliterate your enemies before they even lay a hand on you. This attack does from 200 to 500 damage to all opponents. And again, when you start a battle with 8 SP use it immediately! It will save you the pressure of quite a few (hundreds) of random encounters. Skill: Epsilon Mirror SP:10 Moonberries:2 Overview: Epsilon Mirror uses 10 SP to restore 10 MP for Aika alone. Very handy in long battles where you use a lot of magic, but not that useful all the time. I found this useful during the last few battles of the game where I have Aika on healing duty. Skill: Omega Cyclone SP:12 Moonberries:4 Overview: Omega Cyclone is a stronger version of Lambda Burst, making it another favorite of mine. It takes more SP, but it will replace Lambda Burst for the rest of the game when you have it. It does from 400 to 800(or more) damage to all enemies. Very useful in random encounters, worthless against bosses. ------------------------------------------------------ ---- Fina: ---- ------------------------------------------------------ An interesting fact about Fina’s Skills: Most of them will always go first, no matter how slow she is. I know for a fact about Lunar Blessing and Lunar Light. I am still checking about the others. Skill: Lunar Blessing SP:12 Moonberries:1 Overview: Lunar blessing causes the entire party to regenerate 200 HP at the beginning of each turn. Very useful, as it will save your party from death a million times. During the long battles of the game, you are especially lucky as you have to heal less. Also works well with the Wanted list bosses. But be warned, if a character gets KO’d and then revived, the regeneration will not be on anymore. Skill: Lunar Glyph SP:3 Moonberries:1 Overview: Lunar Glyph causes damage to an opponent with a chance to stone them. The damage is high in the beginning but quickly becomes irrelevant when you get the stronger spells. Skill: Lunar Cleansing SP:6 Moonberries:2 Overview: Lunar Cleansing completely removes bad statuses(except KO) on all party members. Very useful, especially when enemies cast Drilnos on your party, or Slipara. But other then that, it doesn’t have uses. I personally have found this to save my life quite a few times. Skill: Lunar Winds SP:6 Moonberries:2 Overview: Lunar Winds removes all positive statuses from all enemies. Positive statuses such as Regeneration, and Increm. You wont find this to have much use, as most enemies can be defeated even with the positive statuses. Though killing Regeneration is a blessing. Skill: Lunar Light SP:18 Moonberries:4 Overview: The ultimate healing skill, it completely revives, heals, and removes the statuses of all party members. To make it even better, it will ALWAYS be pulled off before any other attack on a battle turn, potentially saving your ass many, many, times. This may be considered the ultimate spell as it is so useful. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- -=-= Magic Strategies: -=-= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Magic in the world of Arcadia is set into 6 different colors. Green, Red, Blue, Purple, Yellow, and Silver. I have all the colored spell lists, in the order you get them in as well as what they are strong against, and what they are weak against.(Note that these may not be completely accurate right yet, as I have yet to go completely through Legends. I am doing this from the Dreamcast version, and how far I am with the GC version.) ------------------------------------------------------ Green magic is the magic of the earth. The green magic is the healing magic of the game, and some of the spells work out of battle and during the ship battles. Two spells, Noxi, an Noxous are attacking spells, and poison enemies when used in battle. Green spells do more damage against Blue and Purple colored enemies. They do less damage against Red and Yellow colored foes. Green Magic List: Sacri: Restores 500 HP, 4000 to a ship. Can be used out of battle. Noxi: Attacks and has a chance to poison one enemy Sacres: Restores 1000 HP, 8000to a ship. Can be used out of battle. Noxous: Attacks all enemies and has a chance to poison them. Sacrum: Restores 1000 HP to all party members. Can be used out of battle. Sacrulen: Restores all HP to a single party member, and ship. Can be used out of battle. ------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------ Red magic is the magic of heat and fire. The red magic spells attack all enemies, and are used to power up your attacks. No fire magic can be used out of battle. Red magic does more damage to Green and Yellow colored enemies. It does less damage to Blue and other Red colored monsters. You can use all Red magic in ship battles one you get a magic cannon. Red Magic List: Pyri: Attacks all enemies. Smallest damage. Increm: Raises stats and attributes of one character by 25% for a few turns. Pyres: Attacks all enemies. Medium damage. Pyrum: Attacks all enemies. Large Damage. Pyrulen: Attacks all enemies. Maximum damage. Incremus: Raises stats of all party members by 25%. No use in ship battles. ------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------ Blue magic is the magic of water and wind. The spells attack a range of enemies, and support your party. Blue magic can not be used out of battle. Blue magic does more damage to Red and Yellow colored monsters. It does less damage to Green and Purple colored monsters. You can use all Blue spells against a foe once you have a magic cannon. Blue Magic List: Wevli: Attacks a very small range of enemies for small damage. Quika: Doubles speed of all party members. Wevles: Attacks a small range of enemies or medium damage. Slipara: Has a chance of putting all enemies to sleep. No use during ship battles. Wevlum: Attacks a small range of enemies for large damage. Wevlen: Attacks a medium range of enemies for huge damage. ------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------ Purple magic is the magic of ice. The spells attack one enemy for a larger amount of damage then normal, or cause a status effect to one enemy. Purple magic can not be used out of battle. Purple magic does more damage to Blue and Red colored opponents, and less damage to Green and Purple enemies. You can cast purple spells on enemy ships once you have a magic cannon. Purple Magic List: Crystali: Medium damage to a single enemy. Crystales: Large damage to a single enemy. Sylenis: Stops an enemy from casting spells. Panika: Confuses a single enemy. Crystalum: Huge damage to a single enemy. Crystalen: Extreme damage to a single enemy. ------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------ Yellow magic is the magic of lightning. Yellow attacks do a large amount, but not as high as Purple attacks) of damage to a small line of enemies, or the cause a decrease in strength of an enemy. Yellow magic of any kind can not be used out of battle. Yellow magic does more damage to Green and Silver colored enemies. It does less damage to Blue, and other Yellow colored enemies. You can use Yellow spells on enemy ships once you have a magic cannon. Yellow Spell List: Electri: Does very small lightning damage to a small line of enemies. Driln: Lowers strength and attributes of one enemy by 25% for a few turns. Electres: Does small lightning damage to a small line of enemies. Electrum: Does medium lightening damage to a line of enemies. Electrulen: Does large lightening damage to a medium sized line of enemies. Drilnos: Lowers strength and attributes of all enemies by 25%. Not usable in ship battles. ------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------ Silver magic is the magic of life and death. Silver magic has a wider array of uses. It can revive characters, clean their status, and instantly destroy an foe or multiple foes. Silver Magic can only be used in battle, and never in ship battles. Silver magic does more of a chance of death to Yellow opponents, and less of a chance to other Silver colored enemies. Silver Spell List: Curia: Completely cures an ally of adverse effects, except KO(unconscious). Risan: 50% chance of reviving an ally with 50% of their max HP. Eterni: A small percentage that you will cause instant death with this spell. Eternes: A medium percentage that you will instantly slay all enemies. Riselem: Completely revives a character with 100% of max HP. Eternum: Will destroy an enemy unless they are magically protected against death. ------------------------------------------------------ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- -=-= Boss List: -=-= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- This is a list of all the bosses I have in this guide. Boss: The name of the boss you will face. My Average Level: Self explanatory, the average level of all my characters at the time. Recommended HP: The minimum number of HP that I think you will survive best with. HP: The number of Hit Points, or their stamina that you will have to knock down until they are dead. Special attacks: The name of any special attacks the boss has. Color: Their color attribute(Still in progress with earlier bosses) EXP: The experience your party gets for defeating the boss. Magic EXP: The number if Magic experience you receive when defeating the boss. Items: Any items the boss may drop. Strategy: My strategy of how to beat the boss. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- -=-= Boss Strategies: -=-= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Location: Valuan Cruiser: Boss: Antonio My Average Level: 5 Recommended HP: 500 HP: 575 Special Attacks: Thunder of Fury EXP:18 MagicEXP:2 Item: Moonberry Strategy: Antonio is fierce looking, and a plausible challenge if your level is not high enough, or you have not built up your magic. This battle is defiantly harder in the GC version. Have Vyse and Aika focus for the first round. Then cast Red magic Increm on Vyse with either character. Gave the second character focus or heal if one of them got hit with Thunder of Fury on the first turn. I have seen Thunder of Fury do 300 damage to a low level party, so keep yourselves healed at all times. After the Increm, have Vyse release Cutlass Fury, when you have enough spirit. Always have Aika focus unless the party needs healing. Having her attack wont do too much good. When Vyse is waiting to do Cutlass Fury again, have him attack normally, and Antonio should go down. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Shrine Island Boss: The Sentinel My Average Level: 7-9 Recommended HP: 700 HP: 1,200 Special Attacks: Search, Blaster EXP: 117 MagicEXP:2 Item: Moonberry Strategy: The Sentinel will take a long time to wear down. He has a lot of HP for this point of the game. The easiest way for me was to use your newly acquired Purple Moon Stone and level up with Vyse equipped with the Purple on his weapon. At least until you get the Crystali (If you are diehard, like me, you can go for the second attack spell). Once you have that, and Aika has some healing spells(or should) you are ready to battle him the easy way. When you first encounter him, you should have enough Spirit to use Crystali at least once on the first turn. If you only decide to do it once (or don’t have it on more then one character) then focus with the second character. It should do from 100 to 200 points of damage with each casting. With your second person focusing, you should gain SP fast. Cast Increm on Vyse with Aika ASAP. When the boss uses Search (With the red beams of light) then he is ready to use his ultimate attack. Be warned of this, since it takes 2 turns to power up, it is extremely powerful. Make sure your HP are greater then 300 and maybe even cast Increm on Aika just in case, and be ready to heal. Also note with this boss, you have a big advantage. If your level is high enough then he will always be the last to attack, making it easy to heal. For an alternate method without the purple magic, you can cast Increm (Its all about the Increm baby!) On Vyse and have him use Cutlass Fury. Though IMO this method takes longer as your Spirit isn’t that high, and takes longer to regenerate. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Skies Over Nasar Boss: Ship Battle with Baltor My Average level: 10-12 Recommended HP: 10,000 With the Little Jack HP:10,000 Special Attacks: None EXP:137 MagicEXP: None Item :Bomb, Captain Stripe Strategy: This is your first ship battle. Even so, don’t expect it to be too easy. I went into it thinking it would be, and I realized it was much tougher then the Dreamcast version. A ship battle is basically a strategy version of a normal battle. You have control of 3 attacks during this battle, each with one of your characters. You may notice certain colored boxes on the screen. They are Red, Green, and Yellow, and some of them have a C! On them. Green means you have an advantage with your attack, C! Means you have a huge advantage over your opponent in the attack, yellow means your opponent has a small advantage, and red means you are at a HUGE disadvantage. It is a wise move to defend on red turns, as enemies will take their advantage to obliterate you. I hope you have the spells Increm and at least Sacri by now. Cast Increm ASAP to lighten damage and to strengthen your attacks. Always keep your HP over 5000 in this battle. The main thing to do in this battle is attack when you are in the green or the C! zone with your Standard Cannon or Main Cannons. Again, make sure to heal if you have less the 5000 or 6000 HP, for you never know how much damage you might take the next turn. TIP: When you finish this battle you get a Captains Stripe item. Use it on the Little Jack to increase it's HP by 1,000. Very useful. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Valua Catacombs Boss :Bleigock My Average Level: 14-16 Recommended HP: 1000 HP: 4,800 Special Attacks: Vile Breath(poison all allies) EXP:433 MagicEXP:2 Item: Vidal Seed Strategy: Bleigock can be an evil boss if you don’t come prepared with many, many curia crystals. He can kill you just by outlasting you with his high HP. The main threat with him is that he can poison you, as well as do damage with attacks to all party members. Cure the poison on the first turn, if you don’t, the battle will become more difficult as it goes on. Because of his high HP you want to be as healthy as possible the entire fight. The best way to fight this boss I found was by Crystales boxes. They do 400-600 damage with each use, and can be used multiple times. Buy them from the Mystery Merchant on Sailors Island at the inn. If you don’t find him the first time, exit Sailors Island and keep going back in until you do. Make sure you have at least 4 or 5 of them, the come on very handy during the next few bosses of the game. With these, and a good healing setup you don’t need too many attacks. But if you want to, you can cast Increm on Vyse and Drachma and make them do their super moves. And always keep yourself over 400 HP. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Valua Colosseum Boss: Executioner and 2 Wardens My Average Level: 14-16 Recommended HP: 1200(At least) HP: Executioner:1,800 Wardens: 480(I need this) Special Attacks: Executioner: Tackle. Wardens: Support Spells EXP:238(not positive here) MagicEXP:2 Items: Electri Box, Sacres Crystals(random amount, I got 8 one time and 4 another) Strategy: This boss is a HUGE damage dealer. The Executioner alone can do 1000 damage with his Tackle attack.. But what makes matters worse is the fact that the two Spell wardens support him with spells like Driln and Increm. If your character is hit with Driln, and the Executioner is boosted with Increm, then I have seen the damage rise to over 1500. The first priority is to get rid of the Spell Wardens. I hope you have those Crystales boxes from the Mystery Merchant still, you will need them. One attack from one box will bring one(I started with the right one) of the Wardens’ HP to a point where you can kill then with a normal attack. The bad thing about this is that most of the time your characters are slower then the Wardens and they get their magic off before you get your attacks off. But make sure you use one box per warden and the third person attack one of the dying Wardens. On the next turn, have Vyse (he is pretty fast) attack the second dying Warden and have Aika cast Increm on herself, since she has the lowest HP. If you have enough Spirit you may want to cast it on Vyse as well, especially if the Wardens got their Increm off. After that you have to hope a bit. Now you hope. It depends on what attacks the Executioner got off on you during that last turn(or if you didn’t destroy the Wardens). If the Executioner attacked normally, heal that character and all your others! Take advantage of the break he has given you. If you are healed to over 1000 hp then use the rest of the characters turns to use Crystales boxes(or if you want Vyse to attack an Incremed Cutlass Fury.) The key to this battle is getting rid of the Wardens and keeping yourself healed at all times. This can be a toughie. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Skies Inside the Gates of Valua Boss: Valuan Cruiser My Average Level:15-17 Recommended HP: 10,000 with the Little Jack HP:20,000 Special Attacks: Cannons EXP:231 MagicEXP: None Item: Repair Kit Strategy: You just have to survive here. Though you do have to do about 5,000 damage to the cruiser. Your first step in this battle is the Increm (I love this spell). Then you need to focus with all of your character the entire turn. Heal the next turn if you are below 6,000 HP(always play it safe in ship battles, especially upcoming ones). This next turn attack as you can, but make sure your Spirit doesn’t drop below 9 or so, you are going to need it. In the next few rounds, there will be a cinema scene. After that, you will see a little Harpoon on the little blocks that usually hold the colors. If you have 15 Spirit at this point you can go to the bottom of the choices list and choose Special. This attack, the Harpoon Cannon, once released can do upward 15,000 damage! But you don’t know the exact amount of damage it will do, that is why you have to damage the Cruiser before using the cannon. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Temple of Pyrynn Boss: Rokwyrm My Average Level:18 Recommended HP: 1000 HP:4,200 Special Attacks: Magma Breath(Stone), Volcano Blast Color: Red EXP:1,021 MagicEXP:4 Item: Rislem Box Strategy: The first thing you need to do going into this battle is make sure you have Fina at least at level 13 with her first super move(Lunar Blessing) learned. The easiest way to beat this boss is to use those wonderful Crystales boxes. They do at least 550 damage each time, since they are exploiting his weakness. Just make sure on your second turn you have 12 Spirit. On the second turn, cast Fina’s Lunar Blessing to help you recover faster. Also, Fina can do about 700 damage with a Crystales from her normally if her level is high enough.(Normally the boxes do more damage then the normal spells.) Also, if Vyse has a purple cutlass, then he will be extremely useful for damage dealing. When the battle reaches the second turn and Fina has cast Lunar Blessing you may have figured why this boss is evil: He can petrify your characters. So have Curia crystals on hand. Again, if Vyse has a purple weapon, then he can do quite a bit of damage to the Rokwyrm. First cast Increm on him and then have him use Cutlass Fury or even Pirates Wrath if you have it(I did). I prefer just obliterating the boss with Crystales boxes though. Remember, if your entire party gets petrified, then it is game over, so be careful. Other then petrification, Rokwyrm can do a range attack that does over 500 damage. Since when you go into this battle, your party is in a triangle shape, the Rokwyrm is forced to attack either Vyse, or Aika and Fina. To avoid being obliterated by this attack, make sure you only have Vyse attack directly, as to not change your characters positions too much. But if you do that, and keep everyone out of stoned status, this battle isn’t that bad. Also, before this battle, you may want to get Aika a new and awesome weapon. When you fight those death heads(I am not sure of the name, they look like humans with huge bugs on their heads) you will randomly get a weapon. It sometimes takes a long time to get it, but once you do, it will be worth the wait. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Skies Above the Temple of Pyrynn Boss: Recumen My Average Level:18-19 Recommended HP: 10,000 with the Little Jack HP: Unlimited Special Attacks: Red Ray EXP: 0 MagicEXP:0 Items: None Strategy: Recumen, the Red Gigas is invincible, so you cant win this battle. But that doesn’t mean you can just go and heal the battle away. You will notice throughout the entire battle colored panels(if anyone knows the name of them tell me!) once a turn or so, there will a red panel. You need to focus all of your attacks at this time. Have a sub cannon attack on the turn before the Red box, and use a main or standard cannon on the exact turn of that red box. That should give you 2 attacks on that box. You need those. If you hit him on that turn, no matter the little amount of damage, you will knock him off balance and he will miss you with his red ray. Repeat this for a few turns. It will take a while, as the turns are set. Soon, you will be asked to attack the heads or the legs, choose the heads. Do the same thing you did before(I got through this battle unscathed, so can you!). Soon, in one or two turns, you will be shown another cut scene, choose to leave the battle. After this, you will see another choice, choose to Attack Belleza’s ship. That leads to the next battle. Note: A lot of people have been asking me about Recumen. You can ONLY delay him if you attack with a normal cannon and a Secondary cannon/Torpedo. Secondary Cannons are the ones which can attack for more then one turn, and Torpedos have low hit percentage, but can land on any round you choose. You must use them on the Red turn, or else you wont delay him. If you can't, you have to survive by defending, which would be hard if you are weak. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Skies Above the Temple of Pyrynn Boss: Belleza, and the Lynx My Average Level: 18-19 Recommended HP:10,000 with the Little Jack HP:25,000 Special Attacks: Lynx cannons and Torpedoes. Magic Cannons. EXP:881 MagicEXP:2 Items: Captains Stripe, Magic Cannon, 3-Inch-Blaster Strategy: Be warned. Belleza can kill you in one turn, she is deadly. The main thing you need to do is keep Increm (It is vital! You MUST have it!) On at all times. I saw Belleza do 7800 damage on the third turn after Increm wore off. First things first. In this battle I prefer attacking with 3-Inch-Cannons for 2 blocks, so that was my main offense, just don’t try and go on the offensive too much. After every turn you need to bring yourself up to full HP. If you don’t, you are most likely dead. Second, on the third turn, when Increm wears off is where Belleza does her first extremely dangerous attack. She does it ever time you play this battle. In this turn, you will notice 3 yellow blocks and 1 green block. Don’t let that deceive you. Make absolutely sure on this turn you recast Increm when it wears off(this will be the first time you need to recast it). On this turn, Belleza will do something like this: Lynx torpedoes the first round, Sub-Cannons the second(ant onto the third) and on the third all comes together. The torpedoes will hit and the sub-cannon fires a second time, and she will cast Wevlen. All in all this will do around 7800 damage if you are not Incremed. If you are Incremed it will still do 5800 or so. The main goal of this battle is to keep your HP’s up. Soon after this turn you will be given a choice. Do not try and get Behind Belleza on the first one. On the second one, choose to go full speed ahead to get behind the ship. The third go straight up. (It could be reverse, I am not positive.) But you need to keep her on edge and make sure you do the unexpected. And remember, keep your HP up! I hope you have been able to attack Belleza a little bit, for you will need it. Soon you will be able to use the Harpoon Cannon to wipe off about 17,000 HP. You are almost done if that doesn’t kill her right then. Keep up the pattern of healing and you can do it! ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Skies above Ixa‘Taka Boss: De Loco and the Chameleon My Average Level: 24 Recommended HP: 10,000 With the Little Jack. HP: 30,000 Special Attacks: Flamethrower Cannon EXP:826 MagicEXP:0 Items: Captains Stripe Strategy: De Loco’s Chameleon is a sturdy ship, but the defense isn’t as good as it looks. Good preparation for this battle would be, before you go to Horteka, stop by at The Cark Guild(A ship a little to the west of Horteka) and Buy the Torpedo he has on sale there. Also replace any of the main cannons you have with one or two of his cannons. Make sure you equip them. During the battle you want to cast Increm, as always, as soon as possible. You should have all greens on the first turn, as De Loco will continually underestimate you. Launch your torpedoes, and make them hit on the turn with a C!. Focus with at least two characters on the first turn, you need the Spirit. If you used the torpedo, it should do at least 5000 damage on the C! square. The next turn, if you need it (about 4000 and under) heal, and continue the attacks unhindered. Use your torpedoes again, and use your sub-cannons. Make sure they hit on the same turn as the torpedoes. The third turn of the battle is where things get dangerous. De Loco then brings out his baddie: The Flamethrower. You will notice a red square on the last part of the third turn, that is when he will use the thrower, so defend there. Your goal on the third turn is to have a little over 10,000 damage placed on De Loco. Recast Increm on this turn, and on the turn you can, use the Harpoon Cannon. If you have enough damage, that should kill him. But just in case, when you are inputting your commands, make sure you heal after the first Harpoon Cannon attack, for the flamethrower is coming your way. If you got him with the Harpoon Cannon attack, and nothing else, he should still be more then half dead. Finish him off with whatever your main offense is, whether it is magic, or cannons(I prefer the latter). ------------------------------------------------------ Location: MoonStone Mountain Boss: Antonio 2 My Average Level: 28 Recommended HP:1,000 HP:5,300 Special Attacks: Thunder of Fury EXP:1,503 Magic EXP:4 Items: Moonberry Strategy: Antonio 2 is big and mean, but lucky for you, he is not the fastest boss you will see. He usually attacks after Vyse, Aika, and Fina, but before Drachma, leaving you plenty of time to heal each round if need be. His Thunder of Fury attack does from 500(to Vyse, who had the best armor)to 800 (Fina), and can hit in a rather large line in front of it, like the Yellow spells. His normal attacks do bout 400 damage as well. He is rather strong that way. The first thing I did to my party(for the first 2 rounds) is Increm everyone with two characters, while the other two focused. Then I attacked normally with Drachma, used Crystalum with Aika, Vyse used Cutlass Fury, and Fina focused. The Crystalum did about 600 damage, so it wasn’t my best attack. And also, if you have Drachma's tackle, you may want to use that as well. My killing blow to Antonio 2 was on the fifth turn, where I had vyse use Pirates Wrath, which did 4,500 damage, so you may want to go the quick way, and not use all the support and minor spells, and just attack right from the beginning. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Rixis Boss: Rik'Talish My Average Level: 29 Recommended HP: 1,200 HP: 6,800 Special Attacks: Feather Slash, Circle of Panic, Ring of Sleep Color: Green EXP: 1,830 MagicEXP: 4 Items: Sylph Seed Strategy: Rik'Talsih can be a bit annoying at times. He is a master of status spells, and is not afraid to use them. Plus, he is rather fast, making for more attacks on his part. There are a few things you can do to prepare for this battle. One, you can Your characters equipped with items that prevent status effects, or two, have Fina learn(or already know) Lunar Cleansing. Circle of Panic causes confusion on one character, Ring of Sleep causes sleep on all characters. Rik'Talish's big attack is called Feather Slash. It hits party members in a very large line(twice the size of the largest Yellow spell range) for 800 damage. It will most likely hit 3 of your characters no matter what. My strategy. as always, was to Increm Vyse so he can be the big damage dealer. While I would have done it to Drachma as well, I did not want to risk having them confused and attacking my weaker characters. After I Incremed Vyse, I made sure that whenever someone was confused, I used the Curia Crystal, as to help conserve Spirit. Spirit is a bit hard to come by in this battle, as you will be healing a lot of the status effects. After I got my Spirit high enough, I used Cutlass Fury on Rik'Talish. The next few turns (Vyse had been confused) I used Pirates Wrath, and that brought him down to a few hundred HP. If you do not have Pirates Wrath, just work with an Incremed Vyse, and maybe have Drachma use Tackle to finish him off. From Brandon Gliniak: Rik'Talish can be the easiest boss battle in the game because he has one fatal weakness: petrify. All you need to do is have Fina use Lunar Glyph to keep him in a perpetually petrified state, and take your time to whittle down his health. He will be petrified almost 100% of the time, making for a very easy battle. This tactic is admittedly cheap, but it is effective nonetheless. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Skies Above Ixa’Taka Boss: De Loco and the Chameleon My Average Level: 30 Recommended HP:10,000 With the Little Jack HP:30,000 Special Attacks: Test Cannon EXP:1,043 MagicEXP:4 Items: Hunter Torpedo Strategy: The Chameleon is harder this time around, as you cant kill him before he does his Test Cannon. His Torpedoes alone can do 6,000 damage if you are not Incremed. His other main attack Handgun, does about 2,000. So keep healed at all times. De Loco is not as hard as Belleza was, because he focuses more. It will be hard to do much damage to the Chameleon without Increm, so make sure it is on if you want to damage him without the Harpoon Cannon. On the Second turn, you will be given a choice. Either back off and repair, or take a risk and attack. Also on this turn, De Loco will begin charging his Test Cannon to use at the end of each turn. The test Cannon does 2,300 Incremed and defended against. Make absolutely sure you defend on red turns! I originally backed off, as I was at 2,000 HP, but you are supposed to take a risk and attack, so if you don’t need healing then go for it. On the Third(or fourth) round you will be able to use the Harpoon Cannon against The Chameleon again. By all means, DO IT! You may have yet to damage him more, but he will most likely be close to dead after and Incremed Harpoon Cannon anyway. Try and keep yourself healed as he gets close to his demise. De Loco will go down, and another boss battle begins without any time to heal, or without any pause. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Skies Above Ixa’Taka Boss: Grendel My Average Level: 30 Recommended HP: 10,000 with the Little Jack HP: Infinite, though this time it does go down Special Attacks: Boulder Throw, Fist of Grendel EXP: 1,161 MagicEXP: 4 Items: Captains Stripe, Complete Kit, Grendel Wing Strategy: Grendel, the Green Gigas is a tough customer. He usually attacks before you, so I suggest that you keep your HP over 5,000 at all times. I hope you came into the battle rather healthy, as he gets the first attacks. He also attacks much more frequently then Recumen does, twice to three times a round. Fist of grendel does from 1,700-2,100 damage. Boulder Throw does around 1,500-1,700, so worry more about his fist attack. On the First turn, as always, use Increm. It doesn’t matter if you attack him normally here, as you are not set to a damage limit, rather, you have to use the Harpoon Cannon multiple times to kill him. I suggest you focus a lot in this battle as you will need all the Spirit you can get. On the second round of this battle, You will have a choice, to either attack the head, or to attack the legs. Go for the head. Even though it is not needed, if you want to attack, do so with a torpedo, or a subcannon, as they do more damage in the long run. On the turn, if you do well, then you will be able to use the Harpoon Cannon on Grendel for the first time. Do it, as you need to kill him through the Harpoon Cannon shots. Soon after, you will be given another choice. I chose to keep attacking, over go to repair the ship, so I was able to do the Harpoon Cannon again sooner. After the second shot of the Harpoon Cannon, at the beginning of the next round, Grendel will start acting oddly and clutching his head. Choose at this point to keep attacking, and use another Harpoon Cannon shot to get rid of him once and for all. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: North Ocean, in the Little Jack Boss: Gordo, 3 Mad Chefs My Average Level: 30 Recommended HP: 1,800 HP: Gordo: 2,000, Mad Chefs: 500 Special Attacks: Gordo: Loqua Spray, Mad Chefs:Support Skills Color: Gordo: Purple, Mad Chef's: Red EXP: 486(for Gordo alone) MagicEXP: 2 Items: Cham, 30 Sky Sardis, 20 Spiked Sunfish Strategy: Take out the Mad Chefs first. They are the true evil of this battle. The best way to do this, is during the first turn, have Aika use Lambda Burst, and one of the other characters (Preferably Fina) use a Pyri, or Pyres box. This should get the Chefs down to a killable pint with one physical attack. Attack them normally with Vyse and Drachma(or Fina, if Drachma used the box.) The Mad Chef's attacks do around 300 HP each, and have a chance to cause poison. Meaning if they all attack the same character, their damage can easily rise over 1,200 with poisons effect in one round. So make sure you stay healthy. The Mad Chef's are also prone to casting support spells on each other, as well as Driln, and Drilnos against you. If you don’t have Lambda Burst, or you just don’t want to use it, Incremed physical attacks work just as well against the Chef's. Gordo himself isn’t as much of a challenge. If he does something that seems worthless on the first turn(Gordo Digests) then he is going to cast Loqua Spray, which damages a very large range of party members for 600 damage or more. You may have used attacks that hit all enemies, and if you did, then Gordo will die rather fast, as he was already wounded. But if not, Use an Incremed Vyse with Cutlass Fury. No need for Pirates Wrath, as Cutlass Fury will take him down in almost one hit. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Skies Above Valua Boss: Valuan Gunboat My Average Level: 31 Recommended HP: 10,000 with the Little Jack Special Attacks: Cannons EXP: 306 MagicEXP: 2 Items: Deluxe Kit Strategy: You can fight one of these before you enter valua airspace, as well as this required battle over Valua. His normal attacks take about 1,000 damage off, and his subcannons as well. But the thing is, he usually attacks all for turns in a round, making him do more damage. He also uses his subcannons with normal cannons raising the damage. Your first move should be Increm, as you wont be able to damage him well physically without it. You should focus with two characters on the first round, to get your power up. On the second round, use a torpedo on one of the Yellow squares, and make it hit on a green. You should also use Crystalum on him on a Green turn, as he is weak against magic. If you hit with the magic and the torpedo on the green turn, then it should do about 6,500 damage. If you use a main cannon(I had a Type B) on a turn with a C!, then it should do about 4,500. Make sure you heal if your HP if it gets below 6000, as the Gunboat can be fast at times. If you want to, you may want to use Quika to be able to avoid and attack faster. On the beginning of the third turn, you are given a choice. Choose to fight aggressively, and you will be able to use the Harpoon Cannon. Use it, and the battle should end. If you don’t have enough Spirit, try and use stronger spells, as they will do a lot of damage. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Daccats Isle Boss: Sinstra and Destra My Average Level: 32 Recommended HP: 2,200 HP: Both have 4,500 Special Attacks: Sinstra: Explode, Destra: Tundra Blast, Both: Death Waltz Color: Sinstra: Red, Destra: Purple EXP: 2,373 MagicEXP: 4 Items: Icyl Seed, Magus Seed Strategy: It has been a while since your last boss fight on the ground. You have to come prepared for this battle, or it can go wrong really easily. Both Explode and Tundra Blast do over 500 damage to a large range of party members, and it can be done by each of them in one round, meaning up past 1,200 damage to all party members. I hope you have Sacrum, or at least some Sacrum Crystals, as you will defiantly need them. It would be even better for you if you have Lunar Light. They can also combine their powers for a mega 1,200 damage attack to all party members. And even after that, the second boss can attack you, bringing up the damage up to 1,800 or 2,400 if they do the Death Waltz twice in one round. It is important to keep your HP high in this battle, and use defensive spells. I suggest going for Sinstra first, as He seems to be weaker. Change Vyse's weapon color to Purple and focus with everyone on the first round. On the second round I had Vyse use Incremus(or have all your characters Increm themselves). On the third round, Have Vyse use Cutlass Fury, as it will do plenty of damage, so there is no need for Pirates Wrath, which will just waste Spirit in this battle, and you can not afford to loose it all. I had Aika and Fina use strong Purple attack spells on Sinstra, as they did about 600 damage. If Gilder focuses, you can have enough spirit to last a while. I spent the next few turns focusing again, healing when needed, and then I went for Pirates Wrath With a Red weapon and that killed Destra in one hit. Basically the best way to kill these two is with their opposing elemental magic, as they are weaker to magic then physical attacks. You have to beat them fast and hard. If you drag this battle out, you can die very easily. Focus your attacks on one of them, and you will be able to finish the second easier. Some people consider this one of the hardest battles in the game, so be warned. NOTE: From here on, you will be doing a lot of focusing in battles, because skill costs are higher. You may need to take longer then my turns to focus, the more Spirit the better. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Grand Fortress Prison Boss: Vigoro My Average Level:32 Recommended HP: You only need about 1,500 for this battle HP: 5,500 Special Attacks: Vigoro's Charms Color: Red EXP: 2,101 MagicEXP: 4 Item: Cannon Room Key Strategy: Vigoro basically uses Vigoro's Charm on Aika every turn. It confuses Aika, and she will not attack Vigoro. But that doesn’t mean that Vyse and Gilder can not attack with their full force, as they will still be getting Aika's Spirit points. I suggest having them focus on the first turn, and cast Increm on Gilder and Vyse(as Aika will most likely be confused and attack you, giving her more damage to your party). At the time, I had Vyse's weapon on Purple, as that is what I was building up, so he did a bit more damage then normal. Cutlass Fury did 1,800 damage, and Pirates Wrath did 2,600 damage, so doing Cutlass Fury will probably kill Vigoro faster then Pirates Wrath, but it is your choice. Vigoro attacks after Vyse and Gilder, so he isn’t fast, and gives you plenty of time to heal. Vigoro's defense is not the best, so it should be over fairly quickly. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Grand Fortress Boss: Draklor Tank My Average level: 32 Recommended HP: 2,500 HP: 8,000 Special Attacks: Wheel Blast Color: Red EXP: 2,014 MagicEXP: 4 Items: 4-5 Rislem Crystals Strategy: When I first fought this boss in the DC version of this game I about killed the game a few times, as he was very difficult at a low level. His Wheel Blast does about 1,500 (with Increm) damage to a large range of characters, and because the Tank is so big, it forces your characters to bunch around it, making there more of a chance multiple people will get hit with it. Try and make sure that you do not have Fina go up and attack him, as she will most likely stay away if you don’t, making for less damage. Have all of your characters focus the first round, and then have one character cast Incremus(or Increm with all characters, which is much harder and time consuming) and if you want to, have Vyse attack. But since Incremus takes so much Spirit, you may want to focus again. This next round, is where you go on your offensive. Have Vyse use Cutlass Fury, or wait and focus so you can Pirates Wrath, and literally obliterate the Draklor Tank. Having Gilder attack is not a good idea, as he may counter, and his physical attacks do quite a bit of damage. For healing, use Sacres or Sacrum, depending on how many characters got hit by the attacks. But just make sure you have over 1,800 HP at all times, or you could be in trouble. Pirates Wrath should do around 5,000 damage with a Purple weapon, so only a few more attacks, and the Draklor Tank will fall. This battle may take a while, depending on your HP, and the enemy AI. During my battle where I wrote some things down, he used Wheel blast literally every turn, so mine would take longer then some other peoples. And if you are going to heal with items, have Aika use them as she is the fastest. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Skies Inside the Gates of Valua Boss: Fortress Gate My Average level: 33 Recommended HP: 36,000 with the Delphinus HP: N/A Special Attacks: Normal Cannons EXP: 1,408 MagicEXP:0 Items: Gear Grease Strategy: You do not have to attack the gate normally to finish this battle. You can not actually win this battle. The goal of this battle is to blast a hole in the wall of the Grand Fortress so you can escape. With the Delphinus, you have 36,000 HP, and a higher attack power and defense, but a lower evade rate. You need to power up your Moon Stone Cannon and fire it to win. Just focus with all of your characters on the fist round, as you can fire the Cannon every round. But be warned, that the Fortress can do 8,000 damage with a single attack, so don’t wait too long. You can obliterate this battle on the second turn without much of a fight. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Cape Victory Boss: Gregorio Cruiser My Average Level: 40 Recommended HP: 40,000+ With the Delphinus HP: 25,000 Special Attacks: Normal Cannons, Fragment EXP: 848 MagicEXP: 0 Items: Speed Wax Strategy: This is the first in a series of three continuous battles(think Chameleon and Grendel), so don’t overuse magic, or forget to heal yourself. Luckily, this battle is like some of the random encounter ship battles you have faced. He has 2 main attacks, a Main Cannon, and the Secondary Cannon called Fragment. Normally, the Main Cannons will do 1,500 or so against you, if you are Incremed. But it will be a LOT higher on a yellow or red turn. The Fragments can do from 500 to 2,000 damage depending on the color of the turn, so be wary of them first and foremost. On the very first turn, cast Increm, as it will reduce damage, as well as finish the battle faster. If you use a Torpedo on a C! turn it should do around 5,000+ damage. I suggest going a slower route with more focusing, as you will be able to use the MoonStone Cannon on the third round, so make sure you have enough spirit. If you want to kill him the long way, just do what you normally do in ship battles(for me it is Secondary Cannons and Torpedoes(with Tikataka) on C! turns). ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Cape Victory Boss: Gregorio Gunboat My Average level: 40 Recommended HP: 40,000+ With the Delphinus HP: 30,000 Special Attacks: Normal Cannons EXP: 848 MagicEXP: 0 Items: Crystal ball, Shredder Bomb Strategy: This is a harder version of the last battle. If you were wounded at the end of the Cruiser battle then heal at the beginning of this one with Sacrulen or Sacres. It is very important to completely heal yourself before you finish this boss off, as the big boy is coming up next. he does about twice as much damage as the last boss did, so keep up your guard. On the third round you are given a choice to either close in and look for an opening, or to play it safe and stay on course. Choose to close in, and you will be able to use the MoonStone Cannon. Use whatever means you usually use other then that to win the battle. You should know the routine by now. But try and heal yourself before the end. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Cape Victory Boss: Gregorio and The Augria My Average Level: 40 Recommended HP: 40,000+ With the Delphinus HP: 50,000 Special Attacks: Normal Cannons, Hull Ram EXP: 2,573 MagicEXP: 0 Items: Captains Stripe, Armor Deck, 12" Cannon Strategy: The Augria is one big ship. Gregorio is strong, and you have a disadvantage at the start of this battle. You may not be completely healed. I personally started with 25,000 HP and I had to heal, so I missed my first MoonStone Cannon shot, but I did warn you so you should be OK. On the first round, cast Increm, and focus, as you need all the Spirit you can get. You can do that for the entire turn. On the second round you should start your attack, but make sure you heal at the end, as the damage will be piling up soon. On the third round you are introduced to what can make this battle hell if you do not know how to fight it right. On the third(or fourth) turn of the third round, there will be a red square. On the square before that you MUST cast Quika, or you will be hit by a very strong attack, and he will have the advantage the next turn. If you cast Quika, he will always miss you with that attack, and you have the advantage the next round. If you have Quika cast, then on the fourth round, use the MoonStone Cannon, Incremed, and he should be really close to death, if not dead. The turn after you dodge is always the best turn to attack, as all of the turns you will have an advantage with. MoonStone Cannon should do around 25,000 damage, so I hope you attacked him both before, and after, as his HP are way up there. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: The Dark Rift Boss: Angulia My Average Level: 43 Recommended HP: 44,000+ With the Delphinus HP: 55,000 Special Attacks: Poison Spray, Deadly Bite EXP: 2,780 MagicEXP: 0 Items: Concussion Bomb, Heavy Torpedo, Timing Valve Strategy: On the first few rounds of this battle(or until you do a certain amount of damage), Angulia will be inside a Vortex, making him sometimes immune to damage, and lowering your hit percentage. To start this battle, have Increm, as you need your attacks to do a lot of damage to kill Angulia quickly. His main attack, Bite, does from 3,000-3,500 damage to you, and can be used a few times a round. Poison Spray does about 1,500 damage, and is used less frequently then Bite is. Angulia will usually attack about two times a rounds, going into the Vortex for the other turns. He usually attacks on the first round and the third round, so focus your attacks on those turns. On the beginning of round 2, you are given a choice. Either to pull back, or stay put and keep shooting. Choose to stay put, and you will be able to use the MoonStone Cannon, for about 27,000 damage, knocking him to half health. On the third turn, Angulia will exit the Vortex, and start attacking you normally. During this whole turn you have a huge advantage, so use secondary cannons throughout the entire round. Also attack with a full force from here on, as his evasion is back to normal. Torpedoes(with Tikataka) do about 8,000 damage. Use whatever means necessary to kill him after this. On the end of the next round or so, he will go back into the Vortex, so try and damage him as much as possible. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Skies above Yafutoma Boss: Tenkou Ship My Average Level: 44 Recommended HP: 46,000+ With the Delphinus HP: 25,000 Special Attacks: Normal Cannons EXP: 478 MagicEXP: 0 Items: Crystal Bomb, Pyro Bomb Strategy: The Tenkou ships have very high evade rates, since they are able to fly so high. Your normal cannons and your secondary cannons will have a rather hard time hitting them, so in this you must rely on magic and torpedoes. Not necessarily a bad thing. To prepare for this battle, have Tikataka on your active crew, so you can have a higher torpedo hit percentage. Start by casting Increm, as this boss is rather fast, and is actually capable of doing a lot of damage. They will use secondary cannons, as well as main cannons. I have seen the damage go up past 7,000 in one turn(one set of hits). And past 15,000 if you are very unlucky. But lucky for you, if you have a torpedo equipped, then you will be able to kill him rather fast. If you hit them well on the first round, you will be able to use the MoonStone Cannon on the second round. And if you are not able to use it, I suggest Wevlen, or Crystalen to damage him. And if you don’t have torpedoes, expect this battle to take a while. A good hit from Wevlen and a torpedo does about 11,000 damage. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: The Delphinus, above Yafutoma Boss: Joa and Moa My Average Level: 44 Recommended HP: 2,600 HP: 2,700 Each Special Attacks: Joa: Irnagun, Moa: Tatimorutto Color: Both: Blue EXP: 1,490 MagicEXP: 3 Item: Moonberry Strategy: This battle can either be really easy, or really hard, depending on your actions. Both Joa and Moas attacks do about 1,200 damage unguarded against, so if they choose to do it against one person, they will most likely die. That is where Enrique comes in. Have Enrique cast Justice Shield on EVERY turn, to make the number of damage go down to 600, which is a more tolerable range at this point. On the first turn have everyone focus, except Enrique, as he will be doing his job. On the second round, use Cutlass Fury with Vyse, and Incremus if you have it, to lower the damage they twins can do, have the other character focus. On the third round you should start your assault in whatever way you want to. I prefer Vyse with Cutlass Fury/Pirates Wrath, and Fina using higher level spells like Wevlen and Crystalen to deal out serious damage. Aika should heal with Sacrum Crystals or Sacrum, or she should attack in whatever way you see fit. Try to kill one of them at a time, as that will make the battle easier. If you don’t use Justice Shield, be prepared to cast Rislem a lot. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Mount. Kazai Boss: Tortigar My Average level: 44 Recommended HP: 2,500 HP: 10,000 Special Attacks: Ice Storm, Steelskin Color: Blue EXP: 3,875 MagicEXP: 6 Items: Moonlight Robe Strategy: You will need a lot of Spirit in this battle. A LOT. There are a few ways to go about killing Tortigar. You can either do the normal attack way, which will be harder, but more fun, or the Prophecy way. To do Prophecy there are 2 things you can do. Either use an Aura of Valor, or just focus with all of your characters until your Spirit is full. The cast it. But to do it the long way, prepare for repetition. Tortigar will cast Steelskin on himself every other turn(or every turn), which makes him completely immune to attacks. Tortigars big attack, Ice Storm does around 800 damage or so to all party members, so keep the HP up. His normal attacks do about 500 damage to one character. On the first round of the normal battle, have everyone focus, so you will have Spirit to go with. On the second turn, have one person cast Incremus, and all the other characters focus. On the third round, you want to have 3 characters focus, and have Vyse use Pirates Wrath, which should do about 6,500 damage. Keep up this pattern each turn, and you will eventually harm him. Also, on a side note, Tortigar will sometimes cast Sacrulen on himself, meaning you will have to start all over damaging him. But if you follow the focus w/all and Pirates Wrath each turn(I got exactly 21 Spirit back each round, so I was lucky) you should be able to beat him. It just takes a while. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: On the Delphinus Boss: Muraji, 3 Soldiers My Average level: 44 Recommended HP: 2,000 HP: Muraji: 3,300, Soldiers: 800 Special Attacks: Muraji: Spells, Soldiers: Wind Slash Color: Blue for all EXP:1,377 MagicEXP: 6 Items: 4 Magic Dews Strategy: Muraji is the support for the Soldiers. He casts Incremus and will use attack spells against you. Luckily, no one in this battle has a whole lot of HP, but there are 2 ship battles coming up right after this that may require MP, so don’t be too wasteful with it. The Soldiers do about 400 damage with Wind Slash, and it can hit a range. They also tend to use the Counter Stance a lot, making physical attacks a bad choice if you are saving up your HP. The best way to go about winning this battle is with spells and skills that hit all enemies, such as Lambda Burst/Omega Phsyclone and Red Spells. Also Wevlen may work well if they are bunched together (they most likely will be.) On the first turn, do what you want, but save some Spirit. I suggest you Increm Vyse, as he will just be a physical attacker here, not a huge asset to winning this battle. On the second round, have Aika use lambda Burst, and Fina use the strongest Red spell you have, depending on the remaining Spirit, hopefully Pyrulen, but if it is weaker you will still be able to survive. Other then that, just finish them off with your main strategy. Vyse Cutlass Fury/Pirates Wrath, and whatever you want your other characters doing. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Skies Above Yafutoma Boss: Vigoro and The Draco My Average Level: 44 Recommended HP: 42,000+ With the Delphinus HP: 45,000 Special Attacks: Draco Cannon, Main Cannons EXP: 3,246 MagicEXP: 0 Items: Captains Stripe Strategy: The fight with Draco is an all out warfest. Do no worry about dodging or strategy here, as your goal is to obliterate him before he obliterates you. On every turn, you are able to use the MoonStone Cannon. But on every turn, The Draco can use Draco Cannon, which does around 10,000 damage with Increm cast. The Draco's normal attacks do about 5,000 to 7,000 as well, so this can be rather tight. On the first round cast Increm, and focus, as you will want to use the MoonStone Cannon ASAP. On the second round cast MoonStone Cannon, and whatever main attacks you prefer to use. But before you kill The Draco, make sure you are completely healed with Sacrulen, as another bigger, and longer, battle is coming up right after. Just attack as much as you can, and heal if you get under 20,000 HP, as he can do a LOT of damage each round. Kill or be killed, attack with all your might, and keep Increm on. This battle should be over in less then four rounds. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Skies Around Mount. Kazai Boss: Blueheim My Average level: 45 Recommended HP: 42,000+ With the Delphinus HP: 100,000 Special Attacks: Phoenix Ray, Blue Lightening, Blue Winds EXP: 4,286 MagicEXP: 6 Items: Captains Stripe Strategy: Ouch...one look at that HP and I am pretty sure you freaked. I know I did. Blueheim is incredibly fast, and will dodge a LOT of your normal attacks, making this battle longer then it has to be. Phoenix Ray does about 4,000 damage, and Blue Lightening, Blues main attack, does about 7,000. While that damage may not be too high, he can attack up to four times a round, doing upwards 27,000 damage a round. He also has an attack called Blue Winds, which will knock you off balance, and give him a big advantage over you, like one you had over the Augria on Cape Victory if you dodged the Hull Ram attack. Meaning if you are hit by it then he has a HUGE advantage over you. On the first round, have someone cast Increm, and focus, as you need a lot of Spirit for this battle. Torpedoes work better at damaging Blue then normal and secondary cannons as Tikataka will make them hit well against Blue. Torpedoes also do a good 9,000 damage to him, as do main cannons. On the second round, guard, and heal if needed, continuing your attack if you want. On the third round, you will be able to use MoonStone Cannon, so try and have enough Spirit on this round. Also recast Increm on this round. Blue is smart though, and he may guard against the MoonStone Cannon, or any other of your attacks. At the very end of this round, guard on the last turn so as you are not knocked off balance from Blue Winds. MoonStone Cannon does about 27,000 damage to Blue. On the fourth round, continue your attack, and heal. if you didn’t guard on the end of the last round, Blue will have a big advantage over you. I also noticed, it seems that after all MoonStone Cannon shots, that he tends to cast Blue Winds, so prepare to defend. Be prepared for a long battle, as with Blues quick attacks, and high dodge rate, it will take a while to kill him off completely. Well you should just be happy you are able to kill this one. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Glacia Boss: Velteran My Average level: 51 Recommended HP: 3,000 HP: 12,000 Special Attacks: Avaluancher, Death Laser Color: Purple EXP: 3,375 MagicEXP: 6 Items: Crystalen Box Strategy: Veltran can be a major pain in the ass. He has 3 main attacks, Avalauncher, a normal attack, and Death laser. With Death laser, veltran has a very high chance of instantly killing a single character, so make sure you have a lot of people with Rislem, as Risan wont heal enough HP to be helpful, as Veltran attacks may just kill you off again. Avalauncher does around 1,500 damage to a large line of characters, so unless you have a lot of HP, it will just kill you again right off. Rislem is a must in this battle. On every turn, have Enrique use Justice Shield(you don’t have to, it just lowers the damage a bit, it is not required this time around). Vyse's normal attack alone did about 1000 damage for me, but I still prefer Cutlass Fury and Pirates Wrath. Have Aika and Fina focus when they are not reviving and healing, and have Vyse attack or use whatever skills you want. This battle could take a while, as you will need to revive a lot. Cutlass Fury does around 2,000 damage, while Pirates Wrath does 7,000 damage. Never thing you are safe in this battle, as then you will most likely die. Increm helps, as does and strong Red spell from Fina (Pyrulen does at least 1,500 damage). ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Maw of Tartas Boss: Yeligar My Average level: 55 Recommended HP: 40,000+ HP: Special Attacks: Photon Charge, Voltigar Color: Yellow EXP: 4,763 MagicEXP: 0 Items: Captains Stripe, Thunder Cutlass Yet another annoying Gigas boss fight. Actually, this one is quite a bit like Blueheim. Well, not really, but they are still both annoying asses who want to do nothing more then throw your controller down. What am I ralking about? Well, remember, Blueheim would dodge mostly every attack. That is how Yeligar is. You notice that his boty is rather...er...flat. This makes it hard to hit him. And whatever Vyse was drinking before this battle, well, you dont want him to drink anymore. He cant piolet worth crap. Most of the time, you are at the far extremites of the battle area, and most of your cannons (and secondary cannons) will not hit. This leaves you stuck with Torpedoes (Hey, I'm not complaining) and the Moon Stone Cannon. Like many story battles, you can not use the MoonStone Cannon until a certain point in the battle. Well, thats not too bad luckily. But you have to make the right choices (as always) to use it at the best opportunity. Yeligar's main attacks are Photon Charge and Voltigar. Voltigar is slightly more powerful, but they both do around 2,000-3,000 damage. Not too much, especially compared to Delphinus' 40,000+ HP. With Increm it does even less, making Increm, like in ever battle, your best friend. Your attacks (As I said, its mainly the Torpedos that hit) do quite a bit of damage, from 5,000 on up (Torpedoes do 7,000+). Yeligar usually attacks twice a round. As you attack and Increm/attack/focus, on the third round, you will have to make a choice. Choose 'Attack from Above' to get the best effect. On the fourth round, you can use the MoonStone Cannon. This is your best shot in damaging Yeligar, since most every other attack gets 'lost'. Make sure to recast Increm, and use MoonStone Cannon when needed, and you will do over 40,000 damage, and at the same time cleave off a hefty amount of his HP. Note though, that if you dont get the MoonStone Cannon off, Yeligar will unleash his strongest, ultimate attack on your ship. But if it IS off (much like Recumen) you can delay him, and he will be thrown off balance, and be left wide open for attack for the next round. If you were able to delay Yeligar's ultimate attack, then on the fifth round, you can use the moonStone Cannon again. It will constantly do excellent damage, but after these many MoonStone Cannons, remember to Focus often. When given another choice, choose 'Stay back' and you will be able to use MoonStone Cannon again. If he isnt dead by now, just keep pounding whenever possible, and he should die soon. ------------------------------------------------------ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- -=-= Optional Bosses: -=-= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Tip: While you can fight most of the hidden bosses at any time(other then the Zivylin Banes), the bounty fights get harder with the higher your level. The more HP you have, the more they will have. Take Piastol for example. I fought her when I was about level 16 or so. My friend fought her at about level 11 with Fina at 3. My Piastol and Death Hound had about 4,000 HP, while his had about 1,000. So be warned before you decide to level up too much. But the damage they do seems to stay in the same area for a while, so don’t worry TOO much there. In my opinion, these bosses are some of the hardest in the game. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: On the Little Jack Boss: Piastol, Death Hound, Fight one My Average Level: 14-17(which was too low for the battle, I just wanted to see how good I was and do it at a low level. I did it before Pyrynn) I would probably suggest you wait until at least level 22 or so. Recommended HP:1,700 HP: Piastol:4,000 Death Hound:4,700 Special Attacks: Piastol: Tempest Dace. Death Hound: Support Spells EXP: Around 1000 each MagicEXP:6 Items: None Strategy: I was stubborn. I wanted to beat Piastol at my low level. I did, but it is much harder then the final boss of the game. It takes a lot of planning ahead. To fight Piastol you must have finished the Valua events and go to the Sailors Guild on Sailors Island. Talk to the Guildmaster to receive a "Black Spot". Then go out of the island, and head directly west. Soon you will see a lone ship, with blue sails. Go up to it, and you will be shown a young woman. She then challenges you. During the battle, Piastol has her Death Hound as support. Do not even try to attack Piastol until you get rid of the Death Hound. The best thing you can do for yourself in this battle is cast Increm on the female characters first, so they wont die from one hit of Tempest Dance. Second, the Death Hound is Blue(I think...), so turn Vyse’s Cutlasses Red or Yellow. Now this has probably taken a few turns to get everyone Incremed and supported. You may have noticed that the Death Hound causes the status effect that stops you from gaining Spirit, well in this battle, that will really screw you. Make sure everyone is at full health, and that more then one person has the ability to revive characters. After a few rounds, go for the Death Hound with the wonderful Crystales box trick, but have Vyse physically attack it, for he will do over 700 damage if he is Incremed and has a color strong against Blue. Just keep your HP up and your status clear, and pray that Piastol’s Eterni spells don’t kill you in one hit. Have Fina and Aika continually heal, and sometimes Fina or Aika (Never both!) can use the Crystales box. Drachma(or your other character) should use another box. When the Hound is out of the way, just focus on staying alive and attack Piastol with the boxes, but not physically, she counters almost all of your attacks. Have Vyse use Cutlass Fury, and just keep laying it onto her. She will eventually fall, leaving you with a hell of a lot of experience and more confusion about her background. This is the strategy I used against her at a lower level. I need a normal strategy for her as well. And yes, that battle does tend to rely on luck. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: On the Little Jack/Delphinus Boss: Barta and Rupee My Average Level: 22(Also too low. I did this the second I found it. And I had leveled up a bit beforehand as well. It was pretty hard.) I suggest more like 30 Recommended HP:2000 at the very least HP: Barta: 8,500 Rupee: 7,200 Special Attacks: Barta: Legendary Fists, Legendary Charge. Rupee: Berserk Rupee EXP:5787 MagicEXP:4 Items: None PS: PLEASE, PLEASE forgive my names here. I know I wrote them down wrong, I'm sorry. Strategy: This battle, like the Piastol battle, I went in way early in the game, at a point where you are not supposed to, but this one relied a lot less on luck, but more on skill for me. To Find them, you have to have finished the Temple of Pyrynn. After that, go to Maramba, and on the dock to the right of the Little Jacks, you will see a huge man. Talk to him to initiate the battle. First, Rupee may look like a little coward, but he is the deadliest part of this fight. He can cast Increm on Barta to make for his normal attacks to do 500 damage normally. Second, he will cast Drilnos on your entire party, so with an Incremed Barta, that can raise the damage to over 600 with just one attack from Barta. Lastly, Rupee has the evil Berserk Barta. On my strongest character defensively, this attack did 5,800 damage to a single character, so make absolutely sure you have rislem before this battle. He can ruin your status by casting Panika. Rupee heals both characters with Sacri as well. Now for Barta. Barta almost always attacks first, and he has 2 special moves aiding him. Legendary Breath, causes the you not to gain Spirit each turn, and causes between 500 and 1000 damage to one person, depending on the Increm/Driln combination you have. His second attack, Flaming Fists, is deadly. I hope you have a high level as it will do anywhere from 1,800 to 2000 damage to a single character. Coming into this battle I totally underestimated these two. But some good preparations to have is making sure you have some Rislem crystals and a box or two, making sure one of your characters knows Rislem, and the others should know Risan. Have Fina learn Lunar Blessing and Lunar Cleansing(This second is very important, I didn’t have it, so I had to heal the hard way.).You may also want Fina to have Lunar Winds to help get rid of Increm. You don’t really need Pirates Wrath, since I noticed Cutlass Fury did the same amount of damage to both Rupee and Barta. On the first turn of battle have all of your characters focus, you need all the Spirit you can get. On the second turn have Fina cast Lunar Blessing, and Increm on Vyse. I suggest going after Rupee first, as he will cause horrible status to you. Rupee is strong against magic, so you have to rely on physical attacks and super moves to kill him. Every turn have Fina use either Lunar Cleansing or Lunar Winds. Or cast Sacrum if you need it, but try and use Aika as a healer. And always try to have Increm on the entire party. If anyone dies, make sure to revive them the next turn, as you don’t know what evil attack Barta will pull off next. Attack Rupee with Cutlass Fury, and strong physical attacks, as even opposing magic colors wont do over 200 damage. Attack Barta with Magic attacks, such as the wonderful Crystales box. When Barta Powers up, be warned as he will be much stronger and use stronger skills. And when Rupee isn’t in a little ball of scaredness, then he is about to cast the instant death Berserk Rupee on one character. The key to surviving this battle is being able to revive people, and dispelling the Drilnos. And a strategy from Lord Umbra: First off, ALWAYS have Aika use Delta Shield. This nulls Rupee as all he does is cast spells, which Delta Shield blocks. With Rupee unable to touch you, attack Barta with Vyse and Drachma (and when you have SP, use Tackle, also change your moonstones to purple). Meanwhile, have Fina focusing until she can cast Lunar Blessing. After that have her cast her most powerful Purple spells on Barta until he's defeated. Once he falls, you'll be able to take down Rupee (still blocked by Delta Shield) with ease. If at ANY point you need to revive a character, make sure you don't use Delta Shield that turn as it will block allied support spells as well as Rupee's harmful attack spells. Tip from Peter Jenson: In the fight with Barta and Rupee, there is a way to never get them to use Berserk Barta. Just don't hit Rupee, and use Cutlass Fury every single turn (while Increm-ed of course). And always have Delta Shield cast, especially after Barta is KO’D--Rupee can't do anything other than cast spells. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: On the Delphinus Boss: Piastol, Round 2 My Average level: 34 Recommended HP: 3,000 HP: Death Hound: 4000 Piastol:8,700 Special Attacks: Piastol: Tempest Dance, Death Hound: Spells, Healing] Color: Piastol: Blue Death Hound: Green EXP: 5,311 MagicEXP: 8 Items:????? Strategy: To fight Piastol a second time, you have to have 14 Moonfish. Go to a Sailors Guild, and get a black Spot, and then go west of Sailors island, and do the same thing you did for the first battle. Piastol is definitely easier then she was last time you fought her. her attacks are just as strong, and she is even faster then she was originally. Her Tempest Dance seems to always attack the weakest member of the party (at least with me, she never attacked Vyse with it, other then once.) She will also use Eterni more this time then in the last battle. To prepare for this battle, I suggest going to Sailors Island and buying a lot of Sacrulen and Sacrum Crystals to heal with as you will need them. If you are doing this battle with Enrique(I did), then have him use his Justice Shield to lower Tempest Dances effect. Have Aika use Delta Shield, but make sure you have plenty of Sacrum, Sacrulen and Rislem Crystals on hand, as you will not be able to use magic to heal. You might also want to use Glyphs of Might on a few characters, to make them physically stronger. Fina should focus on healing statuses, as Piastol can not petrify a character with a normal physical attack. Make sure you revive your characters immediately, as you never know what can happen. Fina's Lunar Light is always a help, especially when you deal with status effects and damage. I cheated somewhat in this battle. I used an Aura of Valor, and then used Prophecy to kill the Death Hound, and wound her about halfway. I then used Cutlass Fury to kill her the rest of the way. The key to winning this battle is being able to protect yourself, and being able to revive your characters at will. If you can do both, then this battle wont be nearly as hard as the first. But be warned, if you make one wrong move, then she can get the advantage and obliterate you. Some wrong moves are, not healing petrify, not immediately reviving your characters, and not having Justice Shield on at all times. If you DO choose to use magic in this battle, focus on keeping your characters Incremed, and alive with Rislem. I played half the battle with it, and half without it, and the second part of the battle was much easier. But I suggest strong Purple, red, and Yellow spells. Most likely Level 3 (the um...Electrum, Crystalum...etc.) and up will do damage. Also, I suggest Cutlass Fury over Pirates Wrath as Piastol can cause you to not gain Spirit, and it may take too long to build up to it, while with Cutlass Fury, you can do it almost every turn. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: On the Delphinus Boss: Gunarm, 3 Frocks My Average level: 35 Recommended HP: 3,500 HP: Gunarm: ????(But it looks like around 8,000 not positive) Frocks: 800 Special Attacks: Gunarm: Target Search, Rampage, MoonStone Blast, Side Winder, Charge Frocks: Normal Attacks EXP: 4,224 (But the number can change. Depending on how many Frocks you kill) MagicEXP: 4 Items: Both: BerZerker Mail Strategy: To fight Gunarm, you must have the Delphinus, and go to Sailors Ilse. Look right by the weapon shop, and a man will be there. Talk to him to initiate battle. I personally found this battle harder then the Ixa'ness Demons battle, as more people WILL die in it. Gunarm is the main enemy, but I suggest going for the Frocks first, as it will save you damage in the long run. On the first turn everyone but Enrique should focus. Have Enrique use Justice Shield each round, for the entire battle, or this will be hell. MoonStone Blast has a high chance foe an instant kill, so be warned that it will usually work. Side Winder attacks all party members. When protected against with Justice Shield, it does 800 damage, and without 1,600. With that damage, and the Frocks which do 600 damage with one attack, you can easily be overwhelmed. The Frocks ALWAYS attack one single character, they do not attack two characters in one round. So if one attacks Enrique, they all will. That is why you go for the Frocks first. Not only that, but once all the Frocks are gone, he may waste a turn reviving one of them, giving you time to heal and revive. Have Aika revive, as she is usually the fastest character. When you can, have a character use Incremus (ASAP), as it will definitely lower the damage you take. What also helps in this battle, is to have Fina cast Lunar Blessing. Since it is a long battle, you will get a lot out of it, even if it doesn’t heal a whole lot of HP. It usually takes two attacks to kill a Frock, one from Aika, and one from Vyse, so use Fina for healing and support during the early parts of the battle. Once the Frocks are dead, the battle is much easier. For every once in a while, Gunarm will waste a turn casting Charge, which revives 1 Frock. Because it is only one, you can waste it in one turn, leaving him open for attack again. When you see Gunarm use target Search, at the end of the next round, he will cast Rampage, which causes around 3,000 damage WITH Increm and Justice Shield, so make sure everyone is fully healed. For attacks, I suggest you use Cutlass Fury, as you will need more Spirit to heal then you can afford to waste with Pirates Wrath, but again, it is your choice. Cutlass Fury does about 1,800 damage. Keep healed with Sacrum, and keep your spirit up, and you should be able to win. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: On the Delphinus Boss: Ixa'ness Demons: Tara, Pera, Lira My Average level: 36 Recommended HP: 3,500 HP: 4,000-5,000 each Special Attacks: All: Chak Mol Color: All: Green EXP: 4,188 MagicEXP: 8 Items: Rislem Crystal, Aura of Valor, Tropica Strategy: To fight these ladies, you have to have the Delphinus, and have found the Ixa'ness village. Then you go get Tikataka from Horteka, and go back to the Ixa'ness village and you will see a ship over the discovery. Talk to the ship, and say that you want to pull up closer. That will start a battle between you and the Three Demons Tara, Pera, and Lira. These three are extremely technical, so this can be hard. While I found Lapen harder, most hate this battle. It WILL take a very long time to finish it, so do not get impatient. Two must haves throughout the entire battle: Justice Shield, and Delta Shield. You will not survive long without them. There are two ways to fight this battle, the long way or the short way. I fought the long way as to get to know them better. The short way is to use an Aura of Valor, and the next turn use Prophecy. I hear that will kill them all in one hit(I have not tested this out, and thanks to Pazzle Bi Pyus on the boards for this tidbit.). For the long way(fighting them normally) prepare yourself for at least a half hour of battle. Every turn you MUST have Aika and Enrique use their shields, or you will die. Each of the three chicks has a strength and a weakness. Tara, the physical attacker, has a weakness for magic, but can not be hurt through normal physical attacks. Pera is the mage/support of the group, and she is weak versus physical attacks. Lira is the most balanced of the three, taking normal damage from both. The beginning of this battle is chaotic. On the first and second turn, Pera will cast Incremus and Quika on her allies, make absolutely sure you use Fina’s Lunar Winds on the turn after the first support spell(when Pera will be casting the second one) and Fina will go after her, dispelling both spells at once. Lira will attack with normal attacks and Noxous, causing poison, and you cant afford to have any less health then you have normally, so Lunar Cleansing helps if Aika's Delta Shield was not in effect(for WHAT reasons was it not in effect other then she is dead. Keep it on at ALL times!). Tara will usually attack exclusively with physical attacks, making her seem to be the least deadly, but that may not be the case, as the next problem is coming up. Each of the Demons cause a status effect with their physical attacks, making this battle more annoying then it should be. Tara causes sleep, Pera causes confuse, and Lira causes you not to gain spirit. Lastly, they have an attack called Chak Mol, which attacks all party members for 1,500+ damage defended against with Increm and Justice Shield. Plus it causes you not to gain spirit. To solve this problem, you need to get rid of one of the ladies. I suggest you get rid of Lira or Pera, as they are the easiest to damage. I got rid of Lira first. I attacked her with Cutlass Fury about 5 times and she was out of commission, but during that time, it took me about 10 turns with all the healing and reviving. Once one of them is gone, then go after one of the others, I went for Pera, as she was the mage, and kept confusing my characters. Make sure you have a lot of healing items for this battle, as you wont be able to use magic. Glyph's of Might helped work miracles for me in this battle. Sacrum Crystals are more important the Sacrulen Crystales as well. The main problems of this battle are the multitude of statuses they inflict on you, and not enough spirit to really go around. And a word of caution. Never think you are safe in this battle as you will probably be put to sleep or confused, and that will screw you over. This battle will really test your patience for this game. If you need more help(I hear a lot of people have trouble with this battle) you can Email me, and I will directly answer your questions. Strategy From Peter Jenson: Don't use Delta Shield and rotate spells from Purple to Yellow to Blue in any order. Delta Shield will usually invoke Chak Mol because they can't use their "influencing" spells (Driln, Noxous, etc.). Use Lunar Cleansing a lot too. Strategy from: Rikey Dute 1st off... In every round, Aika must cast Delta Shield to counter Lira's Noxus. This is very important, cuz Poison in this battle its not a good thing. 2nd... Every one of them has a status effect with her attack, but in my experience the worst one was sleep, made by Tara, so have this in mind. 3rd... Her Special attack, Chak Mol, can only be done if the 3 of them are alive, so be quick !!! 4th... Remember to carry crystals of everything !!! Rislem, Sacres, Sacrum, Curia, Ok, I started by casting Delta Shield and Cutlass Fury in every round, while Enrique and Fina did Focus. Take Lira first, since she's the one casting Sacres. It'll take 4-6 Cutlass Fury to take her out of comission, so be quick and dont use Vyse for nothing else but Cutlass Fury. If you have Enrique and Fina Focus, by the 3rd or 4th Cutlass you'll have enough Sp to do a Pirate's Wrath. If you have the Sp, do the Pirate's Wrath, but ONLY if you have enough Sp to do a Delta Shield as well !!! Now that Lira's down, time to take another sister. I went for Tara, since in my expirience, her sleep status effect grows stronger as her energy lowers. If you get sleep from her, you still have Pera to attack you and wake you up. Do take Tara down, use the same strategy you used for Lira. Cutlass Fury and Delta Shield and Focus with Fina and Enrique. Dont let your guard down though !! If you need to heal, DO !!! But remember to use crystals !!! If a party member die, use Rislem with Fina or whoever has it, since Delta Shield doesnt work on the dead. If Fina dies, use Rislem if you have another party member with it, if not, carry Rislem crystals !! Lastly, take Pera down. She wont be much of a trouble since her range of attacks are either Noxus or Support Spells, and one or other Physical attack she might do. Be careful since her status effect is confusion, but it might work to the advantage since the character inffected might be close to her and attack her instead of one of your own. Just bring her down with couple of Cutlass, like all before and when you have enough for a Pirate's Wrath, go for it ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Abandoned Skies North of Crescent Isle Boss: Obisbo My Average Level: 38 Recommended HP: 36,000-44,000 with the Delphinus HP:40,000-50,000 Special Attacks: Squid Ink EXP: 2,871 MagicEXP: 0 Items: Alloy Deck, Crystal ball Strategy: Now this is a cool looking boss. Obisbo is a giant squid with six tenticals, and a main tail. His main attack is Squid Ink, which does from 2,500-3,500 depending on the turn, and depending if you are Incremed or not. To fight Obisbo, you have to head into the area north of Crescent Isle, and into the sky rift, where the sky seems to be red. Continue heading north and you will eventually encounter him. Obisbo attacks twice per round, but the damage shouldn’t do too much harm to you, as with the Delphinus you are very strong. On the first turn cast Increm to strengthen your attacks. Use your secondary cannons and main cannons to damage him, but try and save some spirit. Your secondary cannons alone should do 4,500 per hit, and if they were upgraded in Nasar, then they should be able to hit four times a round. Just attack him with your normal strategy, as his evasion is not very high. After 15,000 damage or so, Obisbo will loose a Tenticals. At around 21,000 he will loose a second one. About every 5 thousand damage or so you do to him, then he will loose another. On the fourth turn, you have the choice to either get behind Obisbo or to Maintain your present course, choose to maintain your course, and you will be able to use the MoonStone Cannon, which should do from 25,000 damage and up. If it does not kill him, then a few more attacks will. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Skies above the Lands of Ice Boss: Alania My Average Level: 37 Recommended HP: 36,000 + with the Delphinus HP: 52,000 Special Attacks: Spiral, Shaggy EXP: 3,537 MagicEXP: 3 Items: Air Purifier, Goddess Figure Strategy: Alinia will be harder to beat then Obisbo was, as he/she has much higher evasion rates. His Spiral attack, which is his most frequent attack, causes from 7,000 damage up, no matter the turn, or Increm. His less frequent attack, which you may never see, is called Shaggy, and only does about 2,500 damage. Alania attacks twice per round. Attack with whatever attacks you want, but be prepared to miss a lot. I suggest secondary cannons and main cannons, as torpedoes miss too often, even with Tikataka. Secondary cannons do about 4,500(I had Valuan ones) and Torpedoes do about the same, so it is worth it to use the secondary ones. Cast Increm so that every hit counts. On the second round you will be given a choice, either to attack from the front, or to swing around back. Choose to swing around back for the maximum effect. Use the MoonStone Cannon, and it should do about 38,000 damage. If he is still alive after that, then it will look like he is running away on the next turn. Continue a barrage of attacks, and he should fall rather quickly. If you get below 14,000 HP, heal with Sacrulen on the beginning of a turn. If anyone knows what happens after this(he starts running away), please share, as I was able to beat him before this on ALL the times I played it on the DC and this. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Skies high above Ixa’Taka Boss: Roc My Average Level: 52 Recommended HP: 46,000+ with the Delphinus HP: 45,000 Special Attacks: Grab, Blast Voice EXP: 3,396 MagicEXP: 0 Strategy: Roc is one huge bird. He doe not have the highest HP, or even very good defense, making him rather easy to kill quickly. But he does have rather high evade, so he will dodge often. A normal Torpedo does about 10,000 damage to him. And Subcannons do about 5,000-10,000 depending on what color of turn you hit Roc on. This battle should be rather fast if the Delphinus is completely upgraded. Increm, focus, and what you do normally on an offensive, and he should go down fast. Grab does 2,000 or so damage, and Blast Voice abut 1,700. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: On the Delphinus Boss: Piastol 3, Death Hound My Average level: 45 Recommended HP: 2,800 HP: Death Hound: 8,000, Piastol 12,000 Special Attacks: Piastol: Deluge, Tempest Dance Death Hound: Spells Color: Piastol: Blue, Death Hound: Green EXP: 8,250 MagicEXP: 10 Items: None Strategy: There is good news and bad news coming into this battle. The good news is that Piastol does not seem to use Eterni as much anymore. The bad news is that Piastol does a lot more damage with her physical attacks and she has a brand new attack called Deluge. The best thing to do in this battle is to have Enrique use Justice Shield on every turn to help reduce Tempest Dance's and Deluges Damage. IMO, Deluge is far more of a threat as it does about 1,000 damage to everyone WITH Justice Shield. Tempest Dance does 1,300 or so to one person with it. Also, status effects seem to be running amok in this battle. Almost every normal physical attack Piastol does, your character will be petrified. If all your characters are petrified, it is Game Over, so careful. Fina will be on constant status healing duty in this battle, so she may not get too much action. Use Lunar Cleansing and Lunar Light. I suggest using Lunar Light after she hits you with Deluge, and your characters are effected with a status, as it will be more worth it then. Kill Death Hound first, as he can make you not gain Spirit, and that is very annoying. He also still has his job of healing Piastol, making for a longer battle if you don’t kill him first. One big change from this battles and the previous battles is that you have a LOT more control over this one. You will probably be able to not take too much damage if you keep Enrique alive. She does more damage, but you also have more HP, and your HP increase will be greater then the higher damage, making Tempest Dance not as much of something to worry about. Though if she does Deluge and then Tempest Dance, you could be hurt pretty bad, so try and keep your HP over 2,000. To stop her Wevlum, you may want to cast Delta Shield, as you should have enough magic items to take care of business. I truly love those Glyph's of Might. Use the same tactics as before and she should go down quickly. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Frontier Lands Boss: Giant Looper My Average level: 47 Recommended HP: 46,000+ With the Delphinus HP: 21,000 Special Attacks: Looper Ring EXP: 7,149 MagicEXP: 0 Items: Thermal Grease, Captains Stripe, Hex Shell Strategy: You have to kill Giant Looper in one round, or else he, like all the other Loopers in the game, will save their cowardly hides and run. I suggest you do not start attacking the Giant Looper until the third round, as that is when you can use the MoonStone Cannon, and that will almost kill him in one hit, depending if you have Increm on or not. The Giant Loopers main attack, the Looper Ring, does 6,000+ damage. Giant Looper is also much faster then you, so he will almost always attack first. He attacks once a round. And on some turns he is invulnerable, as he is changing rings. I suggest waiting to cast Increm on yourself(if you are going to at all) until the second round, so you will be Incremed on the main round you will attack on. On the third round, use the MoonStone Cannon and it should do about 20,000 damage, now you need to attack with everything you have, to make sure you kill him this round. I suggest Secondary Cannons, Torpedoes, and Main cannons. Try to attack on all for turns on the third round. Like all Loopers, he has high evasion, so you need all the attacks you can get off at him. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: On the Delphinus Boss: Vize, Anita, and Faina My Average Level: 50 Recommended HP: 3,000 HP: Vize: 7,000, Anita: 8,000, Faina: 6,500 Special Attacks: Anything that your party has Color: Vize: Blue, Anita: Red, Faina: Yellow EXP: 6,251 MagicEXP: 6 Items: Tuna Cutlass, Swirlmerang, Focus Robe Strategy: These three are basically a clone of your group. Faina uses ONLY magic attacks, Aika is support, and Vize uses all types of physical attacks. To fight these three, you have to have finished Yafutoma, and have the name, Vyse the Fallen Pirate. Go to the Sailors Guild in Nasar, and look on the wanted list, you should be on there. After this, go back out to the main town, and exit to the docks. Then go back into the main tow, Vize should be standing on the higher levels, close to the palace. Choose to talk to him to initiate battle. If he is not there, keep exiting the main area and reentering. When you are finally able to fight them, you will notice something on the first turn. They use your same attacks, meaning they can be just as deadly as you are. I suggest starting with Anita or Faina, as they cause the most threat. Vize will attack, but most of the time he will usually use Revenge (Vyse's Counterstrike), with a Cutlass Wrath (Cutlass Fury) every once in a while. I suggest using Delta Shield, as it will make you immune to all of Faina's spells, which can be rather strong. IMO, the worst threat in this battle is actually Anita. She casts the support spells, and will use Anita Burst(Lambda Burst) for over 1,000 damage to all of your characters. She also sometimes casts Anita Shield(Delta Shield) making the battle more annoying. On the second round of this battle, make sure you have Fina use Lunar Winds, as Anita will have cast support spells on their party, and you need all the help you can get. Focus a lot at the beginning of the battle, as you need to get your power up. I personally went for Faina first, as with Delta Shield, I cant get support spells off, and you rather need them in this battle, as all the enemies are faster then you normally. It also lowers (Slightly) the Spirit you use a round. Killing her is rather easy with Vyse using Cutlass Fury or Pirates Wrath(preferably the latter), as she does not have the highest defense. You may want to have Enrique use Justice Shield throughout the fight. I suggest attacking Anita with the same things as you did Faina, but she will take a lot longer to kill off. She is fast and dangerous, so be warned. People, this is how you use Aika! Have Fina on healing duty during the entire battle, as you may get some abnormal statuses, and Vizes Cutlass Wrath does about 2,000+ unguarded/unincremed. Do not attack Vize with normal attacks, as he usually casts Revenge, and you will get a powerful counterstrike if you do attack him normally. Use Cutlass Fury, Pirates Wrath and any attack you want with Enrique, to finish Vize off. Note: This boss can be VERY difficult to find. You need to have a rank of 'Daring' before you can find him. To raise your ranking (it wont show as long as you are 'Vyse the Fallen Pirate') you need to fight battles without running, find some discoveries, and continue through the game a bit. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: On the Delphinus Boss: Piastol (Final Round), Death Hound My Average Level: 55 Recommended HP: 5,500+ HP: Well over 15,000 Special Attacks: Piastol-Tempest Dance, Deluge Death hound-Varying Green Spells Color: Piastol-Blue, Death Hound-Green EXP: 11,698 MagicEXP: 12 Items: Light Dress Strategy: Easily the hardest of the Piastol battles, Piastol is significantly stronger then she was in the previous battles, and even more annoying. Her Death Houn still follows her into this battle, casting support and healing spells on both himself, and Piastol. All in all, this is gonna be a pain. You can only fight the 4th Piastol if you have given Maria all 24 Moon Fish. lets start with stats. Piastol does about 5,000+ damage with her Tempest Dance (major ouchie). Thats her strongest attack without a doubt. Deluge does 2,500 damage to the entire party, which can be annoying if you dont have Justice Shield on. Even worse, most of Piastol's physical attacks cause Petrify. She is extremely fast as well. Arguably the worst of her skills is Eternes, which has an extremely high chance (it almost always works) of instantly killing the entire party with one attack. Death hound is much weaker, only doing 500 damage, but he heals, and casts support spells on Piastol and himself, making them harder to kill. So, whats a poor innocent Pirate to do? Well, ALWAYS have Delta Shield on. You will be screwed quickly if you dont. Piastol (all right, the AI) seems to know when you dont have Delta Shield cast, and will (much of the time) cast Eternes, slaughtering your party. So, if Aika dies, you are almost certainly going to be screwed. If you have Enrique in your party (which I did when I fought her the fourth time) have him use Justice Shield. Even protected like this, you will still probably be slaughteres. So, use Glyphs of Might on all of your characters, or prepare to be hurting. Now, have Vyse and Fina focus, and every turn (or every other turn) have Fina use a Sacrum Crystal to keep the party healed. Your goal is prophecy. Of course, you can use an Aura of Valor to make this easier. Note, that to get to Prophecy, you will most likely have to use Lunar Light more then a few times, so use Lunar Blessing as well, you need all the HP you can get. Remember, spells dont work, even on dead people, with Delta Shield, so if you are trying to revive Fina (who would use Lunar Light on the party, and is required to be alive most of the time) use a Rislem Crystal/Box, NOT the spell. Once you have (Finally, it will take quite a bit of time without and Aura of valor) saved up enough FP, use prophecy on Piastol and Death Hound. It wont kill either of them, but it will severly damage Death Hound, and put a big dent in Piastol. Now that you have done this, you can focus on your attacks. Every turn, go Delta Shield/Justice Shield. Vyse and Fina should Focus, though you may want Vyse to attack ever so often. DO NOT use Pirates Wrath in this battle, its a huge waste of FP, especially when you need it for Lunar Light. Every two or three turns use Lunar Light (In between, using Sacrum Crystals). With Vyse physically attaking, you may every once in a while use Cutlass Fury (NOT Pirates Wrath). Soon after Prophecy, The Death Hound will die, and the battle becomes a tiny bit easier. Well, just more doable. Now you can start using Pirates Wrath, if you are safe enough to survive a round or two without Lunar Light. It should do 4,000+ damage, which is rather good. Remember to reuse Glyphs of Might on your party to lower the damage done. Also note that Vyse may not want to attack because of Piastol's counters. So you can have both him and Fina Focusing, or both using Sacrum Crystals which saving up FP for another Prophecy (if needed). Once Death hound is gone, keep up the defense, revive character, focus, and the battle should be finishable. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: On the Delphinus-Skies high above the Lands of Ice Boss: Daikokuya, Boo, Youjin My Average Level: 56 Recommended HP: 5,000+ HP: I forget:( Special Attacks: Daikokuya-Golden Flurry, Spells Color: Daikokuya-Blue, Youjin-Blue, Boo-Blue EXP: 11,000+ (depends on how many Boo's Daikokuya summons) MagicEXP: 8 Items: Pharox Idol Strategy: Very annoying. More annoying then it is hard. Before you start, try and have Aika and/or Fina with something that protects against Confusion. if not, this battle can quickly become a pain in the ass. First off, Daikokuya (thats a mouthful...) has two croonies starting with him. As if Daik wasn't enough! The Boo's and the Youjin's use support items and spells on themselves and Daik, as well as attack. their attacks do from 1,000-2,000 damage, making them a serious threat. Even worse, ias that some of their attacks can hit multiple party members. AND, once dead, Daik can just summon more of them. *sigh* this will be a long battle... First off, if you have it, you should probably use an Aura of Valor. Just because it will make the beginning ever so much easier. But if not, then every turn have Vyse and Fina Focus (when not Lunar Light-ing) and Aika/Secondary Character using support spells. Enrique is very important in this battle, as you can see from the physical damage these enemies can inflict. Aika needs to Delta Shield because Daik sometimes casts Eternes. While it rarely hits, when it does, it can be a pain to revive characters. Now, this wouldnt be too hard, but... Daikokuya has a big trick up his miniature sleeves. His main attack is called Golden Flurry. This attack does 3,000+ physical damage to your party. If that wasnt bad enough, but it also confuses at least 2 members, but can confuse all 4 if not properly protected. This can wreck havock onto an unprotected party. If Aika and Fina are confused, you lose your main chance of healing, and defense. if Secondary character/Vyse is confused, then you lose your support and strongest characters. This must be avoided at all costs. I found that Fina is the most important character in this battle, because she can use Lunar Light (ah, my best friend). With the Delta Shild/Protect/Focus, you should be able to get to max FP and use prophecy quickly (remember to sue Lunar Light a lot...). Once Prohpecy is cast the battle becomes much easier. Usually, Daikokuya wont summon all three of the minions back immediately, and start wth only one, making the damage your party suffers from much less. With this, you want your characters to stay healed (Sacrum Crrystals are your friend) and at the same time make an offensive. I suggest at this point this strategy: Aika: Delta Shield Vyse: Cutlass Fury (over 2,000 damage, no Pirates wrath, too much FP) Fina: Focus, Sacrum Crystal, Lunar Light Secondary characters: Attack/support (I had Enrique, so I used Justice Shield) If Vyse does Cutass Fury every turn, you can ever so slowly wittle him down. Of course, let him have some time to heal along with Fina. And whenever Fina is going to use Lunar Light, have him Focus. you want one member to focus every turn so that you can have enough FP to survive. Once Daik is down to half health, the Youjins become idiotic. They will ONLY use Sacres Crystals. It is not only on Daik, but themselves. So dont attack them, and worry about Daik. Daikokuya can use Golden Flurry 2 rounds in a row, slaughtering you, so be careful... When the Youjins only heal, the battle becomes much more winnable. Just kep Vyse attacking (even normal attacks work, if you dont have enough FP for Cutlass Fury) and you should do more damage then what the minions heal. If you can do this, keep up Delat Shield and Lunar Light, this battle is winnable. PS: Lunar Blessing and Lunar Cleansing are your friends. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Dark Rift Boss: Elcian My Average Level: 48 Recommended HP: 5,000 HP: Varies, over 20,000 Special Attacks: Run, Strong Spells, and a killer Physical attack(normal one) EXP: Varies each time you fight him, but usually over 6,000 MagicEXP: Also Varies, usually over 9 Items: Elcian drops random items each time you fight him. He drops every item in the game, and some of his rarer drops, are Valuan Medal, Dexus Seed, and another Black Map. Special thanks to Daniel Grenda for this bit of info. Strategy: You have to prepare before the fight with Elcian. Make sure your characters are able to revive with Rislem, and that they are at full strength when you begin this battle. Also make absolutely sure that VYSE HAS THE BLACK MAP EQUIPPED! Or else Elcian will run away, leaving an incredibly annoyed player. To fight Elcian, you have to be right before Soltis. Go into the Dark Rift from the Yafutoma side, and fly in a bit. On the same screen where you fought Anguila, a little black Looper will be toward the bottom. Also note that this is based on the Dreamcast version of Elcian, so it may change when I get fight the Legends version. Elcian is extremely strong. His Physical attacks alone cause from 4,500 damage up. And as a Looper, he is very fast, almost always getting the first attack. You do NOT want to be hit by ANY of his spells, as that will completely screw you. So at the beginning of EVERY round have Aika cast Delta Shield, I cant say how much I stress that. I know what you may be thinking. If I am immune to his magic then that puts me at the mercy of his deadly physical attacks, right? Well yes, but he can only attack one character per round while if he gets his stronger spells off, he can obliterate your party in one attack. But his attacks do cause you not to gain spirit sometimes, making it harder to win. Elcian, Like any sane Looper, has insane evasion. Do not attack him, as it will not do any damage. You will be taking a counter attack risk every time you attack him as well, making another character die in one turn, so be warned. I suggest you have Fina do all the reviving, and she is rather fast. Note that you will have to use items, so make sure you have enough of them going into this battle. Your Fourth character (mine is usually Enrique) should also help with Reviving and , or he should focus to help get more attacks off. Vyse will be your major damage dealer here, as he is the only one that may not be busy. Vyse should use Cutlass Fury, as Pirates Wrath does about 500 damage to Elcian, at the beginning. You will notice though, that the more you do an attack, the less damage it does to Elcian. Soon Cutlass Fury will be doing 500 damage, meaning you should go up to Pirates Wrath. When I used Pirates Wrath, at this point, it did 3,500 damage. But before you attack with him, on the first turn, have Fina(or the fourth character) use a Glyph of Might on him to make all of his attacks stronger. And I do not suggest using Prophecy, as you will be forced to face the wrath of one of his spells for a turn, risking death. Just make sure with Fina and your Fourth character that you try and keep full HP at all times, at least with 3 characters. To make matters worse, Elcian will heal himself with Sacres from time to time, making one of your attacks worthless. This battle will take forever, so be patient. Good Luck. Strategy from Lance Ricks: Each Round: Vyse: Skull Shield Aika: Delta Shield Fina: Focus Other party member: Focus When you have enough SP: Prophecy That's all you need to do. Delta Shield prevents all damage from magic. Skull Shield makes his physical attack do 0 damage, even when he is countering an attack. Using this method I beat Elcian without taking a single point of damage. The only thing I had to worry about was that althougth his physical attack did no damage, I could still become fatigued. Most people seem to like to use Enrique because of Justice Shield, but Skull Shield is better. Just keep saving up the SP to use Prophecy. Use Prophecy a couple times and he's dead. From Justin Goddard: I have a very useful tactic for once you obtain Enrique, have him cast Justice Shield every turn and Aika cast Delta Shield every turn. This in turn reduces physical attacks by 50% and also protects you against pesky magic like the eterni spells. Though it does block support magic, you can always use Glyph of might/speed and Sacri/Sacres/Sacrum/Sacrulen Crystals. Have Fina focus every turn, unless someone needs healing, and Vyse use Pirates Wrath every turn he can, otherwise have him focus as well. Using this tactic I've beat all the bounties and Ramirez. From: Actoraronica@aol.com Make sure that you have Gilder and his "Aura of disbelief" SP, Vise with the Black Map equipped, and Aika with her Delta Shield SP. For almost every turn: Vise use "Skull Shield" Aika use "Delta Shield" Fina should focus Gilder use "Aura of Disbelief" By doing this, Elcian will be completely unable to hurt you in any way, and with the black map equipped, he wont be able to run from the battle. Keep this up untill you can cast Prophesy. It should almost kill him, he will spend the rest of his turns casting Sacres on himself, so let Vise focus with Fina; repeat the process and Elcian should die after the next Prophesy attack. I did this at level 50. This strategy works for almost every other battle. And from: Volman16@aol.com This honestly works and on some occasions (depending on your level) he can't even hurt you. This is the strategy: 1st turn: Vyse:Glyph of Might Aika:Delta Shield Fina: Focus Other character: Focus Repeat the process cause Elcian tends to use a lot of magic and the Delta Shield negates it. After Vsye's first turn use Pirates Wrath when you can. 2 of these will kill it. When nessecary, heal with Fina. After this assualt, he will die in 3 or 4 turns. ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Multiple Locations Boss: Zivilyn Bane My Average level: Varies Recommended HP: Over 1000 HP: Varies Special Attacks: Burst EXP: Varies MagicEXP: Varies Items: Varies Strategy: There are many Zivilyn Banes in the world. He is a strange and mysterious treasure hunter who will fight you to protect what is his. He isn’t really that hard, but his Burst attack ALWAYS does a lot of damage. The first time alone it does 800, and that is almost enough to kill you. Zivilyn is also a master of countering your attacks. He does it a lot, so between that and the Burst attack you may be screwed. Just be warned that when his HP get low enough to use the Burst attack, he will! So heal up! ------------------------------------------------------ Location: Soltis Boss: Lord Bane From ***************** (Thanks for the strategy, Anonymous) I devised this strategy while fighting Lord Bane (the Zivelyn Bane fight in Soltis), but it's useful for just about every boss fight. (except, of course, ship battles) NOTE: This strategy only works at high levels. Recommended that your spirit be at least 3 for each person. On the first turn of battle, have everyone guard. Second turn and after, have everyone focus except Fina. If the boss opens with his most powerful attack, or if you simply weren't prepared for the fight, have Fina use Lunar Light to heal everybody. Otherwise, have her guard. Continue building up spirit in this manner until you have enough to use prophecy. (in some cases, I find repeated use of Pirates' Wrath to be more effective - especially with harder bosses, when Fina can be killed with one hit; however, if the boss has support monsters, use prophecy at least once to kill them off - if he regenerates them, use it again.) Continue in this manner until you have defeated the boss. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Misc: =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- What needs to be Finished: A lot. All the bosses, and the hidden bosses namely. I may make this guide more of a total strategy guide as well in the future. I need to find out the names of those damned squares in ship battles as well.
