There are several types of Materia: Command Materia,Summon Materia,Attack Materia,and Support Materia. I will not list all of the materia here, but there are Materia like Lightning, Ice, and Fire. Others are All, Deathblow, and Shiva. You get 2 Materia orbs to begin with, you can get any you want, but not the super powerful summons like Knights of the Round or Bahamut.
Materia costs 1000 gil and up depending on the materia.
