Welcome to the Official Page of the Altean Sabers Franchise, funded in full by the Atlanto Princedom. Formally the Altean Lions, Altea's franchise was terminated after having several unsuccessful seasons. With a new General Manager and a roster to be filled, the Franchise has been reactivated and was reintegrated into the Global Blitzball League, North Division.
General Manager: Park
After several incidents, including the spontaneous contest involving Josef, the Xredanian continent's interest in Blitzball had reignited. The other Xredanian Franchise wasn't doing as well as expected and several meetings were called, involving Prince Glavius' family. A new head Coach was appointed and a roster was soon being filled. By default, the Sabers were the lowest ranked team and was given first draft pick. The Sabers hope to have a successful season with their rookie players.

There is a lot of excitement about the re-established team and one of the more popular questions is, 'Who will be the first draft pick in Saber history?' There have been several rumors with a lot of talent coming from the numerous Academy League schools. Here is a documented interview with Head Coach Park.
Inquisitor: So the word is, the Sabers have 17.5 thousand G in its cap room. With many options available, who will be the first round draft pick?
Park: Well, we've watched several crystals, and we know of one particular player that can really do some big things for us.
Inquisitor: Really? So who is this talented player you have in mind?
Park: It's actually quite simple, Josef.
Inquisitor: Josef!?
Park: All doubts have been erased after the staff and myself had reviewed the crystal from several months ago. Josef had done a spectacular job and who knows how much stronger he is now than he was then.
Inquisitor: Is he eligible? He has left the Magi Academy for quite some time now.
Park: Yes, he is fully eligible by all standards. In fact, he is probably in training camp right now.
Inquisitor: How well has he performed.
Park: Incredibly. He has great breakaway speed, great footwork and elusiveness. Also, he has shown be to a ballhawk on the other side of the ball. Although he tries to appear reluctant to play, we have observed that in fact, he is very interested in playing for us.
Inquisitor: In that case, how will he affect the other draft picks?
Park: Well I think Josef can be our franchise player. We should be able to devise a solid basis around him. If we can get him good Tackles and Guards to block and another Wing and a Skill to play deep and the other side, we expect to have a winning season.
