*** Irenyth's Hatchling Description ***

She's a washed-out, washed-up little thing when seen from a distance, her wings heavy, her hide a drab next-thing-to-tan, and all of her too small by half. Natural dull green's pebbled with the watery brown of moss-scummed river stones along the dragonet's spine, returning and deepening up her wingspars and down her haunches, and further muddied to the point of obscuring the sharpness of her curved talons. It's a closer scrutiny that reveals the strength to her short bones, the high-spirited light in her jewelled eyes, the innate competence belied only by her youth; her hue likewise may be glimpsed paler and clearer along her underwings, shimmering there with sunlit highlights, but its silken quality is apparent to touch alone. When fully extended, her wingspan is 3.65 meters. She is 0 Turns, 0 months, and 4 days old.

*** Irenyath's Temper ***

,br> Astute and honest, she balances a blunt and forthright nature with a delightful sense of humor. She's quite fast on the uptake and has an uncanny ability to quickly size up new situations and circumstances, and while she may *comprehend* hidden motives and desires, she, herself, acts without pretense or guile, as straightforward as can be. This can be both a virtue - she's not one to shy away from uncomfortable truths - as well as a flaw - she's unrepentantly candid when a bit more decorum might serve better. But she'll readily diffuse uncomfortable situations with funny remarks, and doesn't take anything - not even herself, or you - too seriously. She's otherwise pleasant and gregarious, though - very occasionally - you'll find yourself trying to explain to her why she can't *always* have the best of everything, even if she thinks she's earned it.

Irenyath hates the idea of leadership -- she views the weyr's various pecking orders as exercises in dishonesty and facetiousness and political gamesmanship, and doesn't want anything to do with any of it - doesn't want to dirty her claws. This isn't self-righteous so much as realistic: she sees what she sees, and she doesn't want any part of it because she understands she lacks guile, and that her wit can sometimes bruise various egos. She need not apply herself to her lessons and her responsibilities to excel at them: she's possessed of a keen intellect, and skills that her clutchsiblings have to really work at seem to come very naturally to her. She's happy to help her clutchsiblings learn, and to demonstrate by example - she just doesn't want to be caught dead in *charge* of them. Contrasted with Ryklin's Yariath, she's the epitome of easy-going excellence: where he slaves for every success, she's just cheerfully gifted. Early on you'll be the only person she confides in, but as she grows, she'll assume that Mirrath's nearly as good a confidant, and may end up seeking *her* advice if she has any concerns how *you* might react to a particular question.

She's likely to be a bit of a late bloomer, and, like her dam, her hide-bright "glow" won't manifest itself more noticeably than a particularly thorough oiling. By the same token, her personality doesn't undergo broad shifts: she'll be less patient and more snappy, and prone to exercising the more biting aspects of her wit on females who rob her of the attention she feels she's due. Where she's normally a refined and delicate eater, when she's proddy this all falls away, and she's likely to be embarassingly messy and possessive when she dines. Privately, the covetous aspects of her personality will grow: she *deserves* the attention of the males, and when she doesn't get it despite her best efforts, you'll be the one talking her down from her fits of pique.

*** Irenyath's Physical ***

She'll grow to be within the middle of the size-range for her color, with all the inherent advantages and disadvantages that entails: near-matchless speed and agility in the air, but a commensurate lack of stamina that will result in her often needing to shift out of formation before a Fall is through. She'll maintain the lean builds of her sire and her dam into adulthood, and she'll guard her figure jealously.

*** Irenyath's Mindvoice ***

Her thoughts most often come as a sparkle of rosy merriment, the pastel yellows and oranges and reds of the early-morning sky. When she's excited she speaks in a rush, and the colors come edged with brilliant silver - but when she's ready to mate, she'll abandon the pretense of speech right away, and she'll share, instead, raw sensation: the coppery taste of her prey's blood, the rush of wind over her wings, and the impossible ache, the *need* to, at once, flee and be caught.
