A Short Intro to Mega Man:
Mega Man has been around since 1987 and has been on just about every video game system but Mega Man Battle Network is the first Mega Man title that is half RPG and half action. Battle Network is definitely one of the best Mega Man titles yet. It's just a shame that Zero wasn't in this Mega Man game.
The Story of Battle Network:
In the future, a young net-battler named Lan, boots his personal exploration terminal (PET) and prepares to hack into the network to battle net crime. Lan's PET is no ordinary network navigator (Net Navi). It's actually Mega Man.EXE, the cyber-identity, which infiltrates crime-ridden networks to battle destructive computer viruses. You defeat viruses in real time and collect Battle Chip programs, containing valuable weapons data and critical system info. Collect over 175 Battle Chips to help Lan and Mega Man restore peace and order to the network.
