White mages are an odd breed of humans that originated from a small island to the north of the world called Sirenia. White mages specialize in white magic: defensive spells of the elements and medical science. They devote their lives to learning about potions and learning more magic spells. At first, Sirenia was completely isolated from the rest of the world. But travelers soon found this island. When the explorers saw what the mages were capable of, they became obsessed. They wanted the power for themselves. They tried to get the mages to teach them magic and how to mix potions, but they couldn't comprehend the magnitude of information. The explorers were still determined though, and they enslaved the mages and tried to harness their power, but it was yet another failed attempt. Finally, they gave up on controlling the mages and instead decided to execute them. They were afraid of the power they possessed, simply because it was a power they couldn't understand. The night of execution drew near and word had gotten to the mages. They decided to fight back, but they knew they would be greatly overwhelmed, and expected to lose the battle. They managed to send a child, the strongest child of the mages, into the woods before the battle took place. This boy was Kyrin Vistall.
