The Sabbat

 

 

The Sabbat is the antithesis of the Camarilla, and the Camarilla's most dangerous enemy. The Sabbat was formed in the ashes of what was called the Anarch Revolt. When the Inquisition devasted Kindred society, Kindred Elders sacrificed their childer and servants in order to save themselves. Many kindred rebelled against their superiors and a civil war started. When the Camarilla was created, there were kindred who either refused to join the new society or could not because their crimes against their elders was too great. These kindred formed the dread cult known as Sabbat.

The Sabbat believe that human beings are cattle and nothing more. According to them, humanity needs to be outright enslaved and that is the only way that the inquistioin can be purged. They also believe in Gehenna, the Vampiric Armaggedon of sorts, when the Antediluvians will one day rise up to devour their childer and subjugate the world. The Sabbat see the Camarilla as the machine of the Antediluvians, and they fight the Camarilla with a religious fervor.

The Sabbat is very unorganized, brutal, and monstrous. This has not stopped them from becoming a force to reckon with in the new world (the new world is new by immortal standards), and in 1999 they Almost completley dominated the United States East Coast. The Camarilla are by no means the "Good Guys", but they are not as brutal as the sabbat.

The Sabbat maintains a several clans and bloodlines as a whole, but has representatives of just about every clan in existence. These clans usually label themselves antitribu, or "anticlans", in defiance of the Camarilla. The following clans are officially represented in the Sabbat. These clans have allegedly killed off their antediluvians...

 

 

 

Clan Lasombra are the leaders of the Sabbat. They are the most machiavellian of all kindred and are the ultimate rivals of the Ventrue. Once clan of nobles, they have abandoned their nobility and revel in being damned. They also weild a horrific form of shadow magic that makes them formidable opponents.

Clan Tzimisce are probably the most feared kindred in the world, and justifiably so. Tzimisce are notorius for their alien psyches, monstrous demeanors, and a fleshcrafting ability that is the subject of endless nightmares, horrors, and legends. Many kindred would rather suffer final death than to be captured by a Tzimisce. The Tzimisce was once the most powerful clan in the world, but history, other clans, and the Inquistion saw it necessary to break the power of this clan.
