David Staufer
Autumn, shy and new to the modern world. Lost in a city that she didn't know or understand, in a clan she thought she knew about. She met a few people, who didn't quite fathom a Tremere who was nice.
She met one person, who captured her intrest, for reasons she didn't understand. He captured her in more ways than one though. She used to talk to him when no one else was around, or when she found him around the city. Their favorite place to talk became the Cemetery.
His name was David Staufer, elder of Clan Malkavian. He was just returning to the city after an extended period away. She learned though the talks, that he used to serve under one of the Archons, as well as serving Primogen twice, along with having many childer. Some of them having been in various positions in the city.
Their budding friendship grew into love. They had many challenges of such a love. One being clan differences, and having to hide it from Autumn's clan elders. Finding places to talk and meet privately. Unknowing of the security features in the Fallen Angels, came Autumn's greatest mistake.
They were talking in the FA, and Autumn told David not to worry, that no one would tell, her friends were trustworthy. She had to mention names didn't she? Getting herself into hot water, along with another young tremere, by the name of Ezekiel
She was found out by the Regent Clare Altier, who in turn told her Mentor Vincent Plet. They were both disappointed in her, and sent Joshua Mayworth** in search of her. They had noticed her many friends, as well as her increasingly strange behavior.
She was captured and staked, after a small skirmish. David was trying to protect her, and did his best to keep her safe. That proved impossible as several Gangrel came to Joshua's aid on his job. It wasn't long before Autumn was captured and staked. She was taken to Regent Altier, post haste.
((** Ok.. here again, i'm not clear. I know joshua was first sent after autumn to stake her.. being new to play.. i made a few mistakes.. then later this whole thing was said to never have happened. With the gangrel and the staking. Now.. i know she was staked, and i know she was taken before Magus Plet and Maga Altier.. but as for who staked her and that whole scene.. i'm not sure how thats supposed to go.**))
Regent Altier had noticed the slow change in Autumn, and her behavior. It was very strange for a tremere, and a Tremere being facinated by wheels on skates wasn't normal. She did tests on Autumn, and found a horrorifying truth. Autumn's disturbing behavior came from her being Malkavian, not Tremere. She had all of the memories she had of Tremere knowledges erased from her memory, but was allowed to keep her real memories, as well as having the domiation removed from her mind.
She was sent to the Asylum, and turned over to Primogen Sanctuary. David couldn't have been more happy, at the discovery. He nearly immediately moved her into a haven he was having built. He didn't want her staying at the Asylum.
She came to know her clan, and got to know David even better. They were nearly inseperable. They were always seen in the Fallen Angels, or the Cemetery, and on ocassion at Shadows. They always sat together, and talked to their friends. Happiness for them was not to last though, despite their best efforts.
There were jealousies on both sides. For David, it was any man who looked at her, in anyway that was just as a friend. For Autumn, it was his Dead Childer KaE.
David forgot how nieve Autumn was, and men of this era, were definatley far different than from her own. Well, for the most part. Men were always hitting on Autumn, trying to kiss her. She didn't understand why, she didn't understand why David got so Angry. She was never courted as a young woman, she didn't know how things were supposed to be.
Then the fighting came, not just verbal fights, but physical ones. The verbal ones, were the most frequent. The physcial ones, not so very often. It was after those fights that she hung around with her other friends, usually Brujah or Gangrel. Gunny, Charis, Lee, Raven, Ezekiel or Kenneth. (If i missed anyone, sorry.)
For awhile, things seemed to settle down. Seemed to get better, planning started on the wedding again. Then, it was to be again, denied. David was kidnapped by an arch rival, Asia Langley. Though the blood bond she had with David, she felt his pain, felt the tortures he was going though. They were so intense, the bond almost snapped.
She mounted a rescue party that went nowhere.. no one was able to find David. Save for one person. Vincent Plet. He went in alone, confronted Asia, and also forced her to remove the tortures she had placed on him. The damage was done. He had two minds within his own now, of two mortals that were grafted to his body. Asia also had made him think that She was Autumn, and that he loved her. While every time he would look at Autumn, he would see Asia.
Vincent brought him back, unkowning of this, and yet, another fight started. David thinking Autumn was Asia, tried to kill her. Their many friends, and Vincent went to the cemetery to try to stop what was happening. (Again fuzzy memory of how they got him to believe that autumn truly was who she said she was.) After a long struggle, David finally realized who she was, and what had happened to him.
After that, David began locking himself away. At this point and time, they were staying with Lee Sentenza. He rarely came out of the room he was staying in. He rarely let autumn in to see him. Even rarer yet was when he came to the Fallen Angels, or to the Asylum. Autumn struggled to keep him fed and healthy, but his mind was mostly gone.
It was on one such rare night, that ended what little Autumn and David had left. She was at the Asylum, visiting Shamisz. Gunny was there as well. Autumn was not herself that night, her mind being controlled by her darker side. David was passing by the asylum, when he felt it. Autumn feeding from someone else. Autumn fed from Gunny that night, in her derangement, she didn't remember it.
When David confronted her, not but a few moments later, she was confused. She didn't remember. She didn't know, but Shamisz told him, exactly what happened. Thats when he decided to leave her. Walk out of her life. It wasn't for good at that point, their paths crossing a couple of more times.
Autumn had to be held down by Shamisz, to let David past on his way out of her life. That was after another battle, another argument. This destroyed her, totaly.
The other times she saw David, was more fighting, more hurt. Just what neither of them needed. The First time David was at the cemetery talking to an old friend of his. Autumn came to the cemetery unknowing David was there. When the both realized the other was there, David demanded his mothers ring back. Autumn, still waiting for him to return to her side, fought against it. She thought as long as she held it, he would come back.
The night ended, with Autumn giving the ring back. Even more hurt and heart broken, she left the cemetery. She still waited though, and watched. She couldn't feed, she was addicted to David's blood. She couldn't sleep, without him nearby.
The last time she saw David, was a month or two later. She had recently started seeing Hawk. Her heart was still David's, but when she saw him, she also knew, that it could never work. It would be too hard. She told him that she loved him, but it wasn't the same as it was before. It had changed. That killed her, but she said it anyway. She kept a face that held no emotion, none in her voice. David thought that was Hawk's doing, but no it wasn't. It was all the pain and suffering she went through after he left. She didn't want to go through it again, when she was just starting to find her feet.
A part of her will always love David, and care for him. He was her first love.
((I know this is missing a lot, as its been so long my memory is full of holes. I will add more as i remember it, and hopefully it will be in the right order. Sorry about this.))
