Personality:
S'orar is a Vulcan and not very fun to be around. He never laughs
at jokes and can be a pain with his precious "logic".
Honest to a fault, he will tell someone what he thinks about a given
matter when asked, even if the answer is insulting or hurtful, as
he does not fully comprehend these "foolish" emotions.
This will at times include him presenting his astounding ability
to state the totally obvious when just the merely obvious will do.
This being the case, he did not make many friends in the academy.
Strengths:
(1) Is a natural at hand to hand combat as well as small arms fire.
Given any hand to hand weapon, he can put it to good use immediately
and with just a little practice he can become an expert in it's
use.
(2) Adept at deductive reasoning and observation. Has a photographic
memory.
Weaknesses:
(1) Insensitive, becomes rather grating at times on peers nerves.
Subordinates will be especially annoyed and put off by his "attitude"
(2) On rare occasions, suffers from a VERY rare Vulcan neurological
disorder,T'lak's syndrome, causing severe tremors that only last
a few moments. When an attack comes on, S'orar can do nothing but
writhe on the ground.
Personal History:
Was born on the planet of Vulcan on the Terran year of 2251, fourth
of four children. His parents were researchers at the Daystom Institute.
They returned to Vulcan for each of their children's births and
took leave of their positions each time for a period of ten years
in order to show their children their heritage. When they returned
to their work, they had the children left on the planet for another
thirty years with their grandparents and were schooled on Vulcan.
His parents did not try to impose any kind of ideas of what their
children should do with their lives, allowing them to decide for
themselves. His two brothers both decided to continue their lives
on Vulcan, choosing not to enter Star Fleet. He and his sister,
however chose to leave after some time there. His sister entered
Star Fleet 10 years prior to him, and served aboard the USS Yamamoto,
a Galaxy Class starship destroyed by a computer virus created by
a long dead advanced alien culture. S'orar decided to leave Vulcan
at the age of 50 and worked as law enforcement officer on Earth
for a time in the city of Omaha, Nebraska where he worked his way
to the position of detective and was very successful earning the
distinction of winning the central region police pistol competition
an unparallel 26 years in a row and solved 362 cases with only one
unsolved during his tenure. Then, a Vulcan friend who served in
Star Fleet that suggested that he join. He became intrigued by the
idea and joined Star Fleet as an enlisted man and served for 12
years before being sent to the academy. S'orar did quite well in
the academy, graduating near the top of his class, although the
very lack of emotion that made him such a good detective on Earth
alienated him from many of his classmates and at times he would
even annoy instructors by correcting every mistake they made. His
greatest talent was his fighting capability that seemed to come
naturally to him. He has mastered 15 different hand to hand forms
of combat and is proficient in the use of small arms, including,
but not limited to beam weapons and even old Earth projectile weapons.
He is also a master with the Bat'leth (though, in part because of
his neurological condition, he has never competed in any tournaments)
as well as many other blade and blunt weapons. He is currently aboard
the USS Laffey, heading toward his first mission out of the academy.
