Duties: Plots courses, supervises the computer's piloting, corrects any flight deviations and pilots the ship manually when needed. The Chief Flight Control Officer is the senior most CONN Officer aboard, serving as a Senior Officer, and Chief of the Personnel under him/her.
Background
Background: Jovok was born on the 23rd day of Ach'waen (April 12), 2326 to S'Retek and T'Elyena, two Vulcan scientists. Due to a rare recessive trait, Jovok recieved blond hair and light-colored eyes from his parents. He had a fairly typical childhood, undergoing the traditional survival ritual at age seven, and taking Vulcan discipline. The only strange thing about Jovok as a child was often commented upon by his teachers; "Jovok is an overly talkative student, less reserved than is the norm."

In 2336, S'Retek and T'Elyena took their first vacation from the Science Academy in 18 years. They left for their cruise of the Federation, leaving Jovok in the care of his maternal grandparents. During the cruise, their ship was attacked and destroyed by a Talarian war cruiser.
Jovok was devastated and received counseling for two years after the event. He was taken in by his grandparents, and graduated from primary and secondary school with honors. His maternal grandparents came from a long line of Vulcan traders, while his paternal family was primarily composed of scientists. Following his eighteenth nameday in 2344, Jovok joined the strict Shri'Kahr trading guild and was assigned to the VTS Surak.

Jovok spent the next 30 years with the guild, eventually working up to his own command. He has traveled throughout the galaxy, including several trips into the Klingon Empire and the Cardassian Union. But in 2374, Jovok was stripped of his membership in the guild and his trading assets seized. The guild cited his behavoir as "unbecoming a Vulcan." Neither the guild nor Jovok will elaborate on this point.

Jovok applied to Starfleet Academy in 2375 and was accepted. His Academy records are excellent and without a single black mark. He was trained in the CONN and Command tracks. The only wrong move he made was after he left the Academy and situated on Starbase 118. He was attacked by a former enemy, a Ferengi trader by the name of Groitha. He was rescued from certain death by fellow cadets Perez, Storm, and Brooklyn in a catastrophic bar fight. They were released the following day for final training. This was the start of a friendship with Perez that continues to this day.
After the Meze scenario, Jovok was transferred to Bravo Fleet and the USS Argo. Off-duty, Jovok can often be found with Connor Perez.

Due to his extensive trading experience and natural tendencies, Jovok is less emotionally rigid than other Vulcans. He still shows visable emotion only rarely, but has a sense of humor and can occasionally crack a joke of his own.
