What We Know (All Confirmed):
-The title will be Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
-More people will die in this book
-We meet new Harry Potter fans.
-Hermione will lighten up more.
-From now on, Ginny will play a much bigger role in the story.
-The Sorting Hat will become increasingly important.
-Someone we all like [and a special fan of Harry Potter] will die.
-There will a female DADA Professor.
-Lily's maiden name is Evans
-We'll find out why Voldermort wanted to kill Lily and James Potter in the first place.
-We'll learn something about Lily Potter (something good and interesting).
-We learn "all about" Arabella Figg.
-We will have a female DADA teacher. [Rumor: Some think it will be Arabella Figg.]
-JKR comments: "Snape can look after himself."
-The book will have 38 chapters (that's one more than the last book).
-"There is a bad death in it that I haven't enjoyed writing." -JKR.
-The book is 1/3 longer than GoF! It has about 255,000 words according to Britain's Bloomsbury Publishers.

Rumors:
-Hermione will be made a prefect. (Probably so)
-Harry tries to kill Voldemort, and fails.
-Harry will become Quidditch captain.
-A Quidditch match between Hogwarts and another school will be held.
-Icicle might be in this book, she is said to be the daughter of Voldermort (and no, this rumor is not the source of my name; my name has to do with Christmas).
-Fawkes will be very important in this book.
-Snape and/or Karkaroff will die.
-Bagman turns out to be an evil guy after all.
-Rumors go around that Harry is responsible for the death of Cedric.
-People start thinking that Harry helped Voldermort to regain power willingly.
-The Malfoys' ties with the Dark Arts are exposed (at least partially) by Arthur Weasley. This makes him and his family a target for the wrath of Voldermort.
-Many Death Eaters start to question their loyalty to Voldermort after the way Harry Potter slipped from their grasps.
-Voldemort rounds up supporters and goes on to publicly alarm and attack the Wizard World.
-We will find out why Harry Potter has to stay at the Dursleys.
-We'll find out why the Dursleys decided to keep Harry.
-Snape finally gets the position for Defense Against The Dark Arts Professor. FALSE [JKR said we would have a female DADA teacher, so unless ol' Sevvy is hiding something...]
-Dean Thomas will be made a prefect.
-Ron will be made a prefect.
-Draco will be made prefect (and abuse his powers by taking points away from Harry and friends).
-Hermione and Ron pair up in this book, thus isolating Harry for larger parts of the book.
-Cho starts to doubt Harry because of all the rumors about his involvement in Cedric's death.
-Death Earters attack Hogwarts.
-Ron and Neville develop more self-confidence.
-Hermione's parents will be attacked.
-Dobby reveals more secrets about the Malfoys.
-Nagini turns out to be the snake Harry released for the zoo or at least its kin.
-The snake Harry released from the zoo comes back and helps Harry.
-Sirius stays at Hagrid's hut for the year.
Specific Character Rumors:
-Just like Crookshanks, Lily Potter had ginger hair and green eyes. Could Lily be an animagus and have escaped the powers of Voldemort? Or is Crookshanks Arabella Figg, sent to watch over Harry here too? Or, maybe Crookshanks is just a cat.
-Slytherin alumni try to use Snape's position at Hogwarts to undermine the power of Dumbledore. This causes serious internal struggles for Snape because he is loyal to Dumbledore, but must maintain his cover.
-Either Fudge or Dumbledore will be kicked out of their position.
-Sirius Black clears his name and adopts Harry.
-Dudley dies of a heart/diabetes attack or gets very sick. This makes Harry's position at 4 Privet Drive increasingly difficult.
-We get to see Lupin again! CONFIRMED
-Lupin has a brother and we'll get to meet him in this book.
-Lupin does not die.
-...But Lupin is only in the book for three pages and Sirius talks through most of those. [This rumor is so terribly believable. I hope it doesn't happen; Lupin's my favorite character.]
-Fleur will become a Hogwarts teacher. [The more probable rumor is that she will be a teacher's assistant.]
-Angelina Johnson will be made Captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team. [This is more likely than Harry being made captain, for now anyway.]
-The Creevey brothers will play a slightly larger role in this story.
-The Creevey brothers will play a huge role in this story. One of them will die.
-Sirius Black will be the DADA Teacher at Hogwarts. [Of course he won't, but a rumor is a rumor.]
-Rita Skeeter is killed after poking her nose too deply into Voldemort's business.
-Hagrid is allowed a wand again.
Interesting Side Rumors:
-We find out the whereabouts of Sirius's motorbike.
-Dobby sets up a sock business.
-Padfoot is picked up by Aunt Marge.
-Malfoy starts a Voldemort support group.
