Dumbledor's Look of Triumph
'He said my blood would make him stronger than if he'd used someone else's,' Harry told Dumbledore. 'He said the protection my — my mother left in me — he'd have it too. And he was right — he could touch me without hurting himself, he touched my face.'
For a fleeting instant, Harry thought he saw a gleam of something like triumph in Dumbledore's eyes.

...What can it mean?

The Condemning: Dumbledore is Evil

So what can Dumbledore's look of triumph mean? Many people jumped to the conclusion that he was evil. Some think he works for Voldemort, some think he is Voldemort's boss ("that's why Voldemort is afraid of Dumbledore"), some think he's just evil and does not necessarily work with Voldemort.
"Dumbledore is evil. He sends Harry into danger all the time, to promote his own plans. The ony reason he hasn't kill Harry stright away is due to his image."
-Unique Fairfax from the HOL Forum
"It may be like in the GoF when Mad-Eye Moody was helping Harry win, so that he made it to the final test and then tryed to have him killed by sending harry to voldemort."
-CRaZy HoBbIt from the HOL Forum

I like the following point, because it does not focus on one questionable detail, but the actual character, and what is probably the reason so many were quick to suspect Dumbledore:
"The thing that unerves me about Dumbledore is he lacks flaws, he's essentially too good of a character to really be good. He isn't bitter like Snape, or tempermental like Sirius. He's not a werewolf like Lupin, or a half giant like Hagrid."
-Melanie Black says in the HOL Forum

The Defense: One Look Proves Nothing

There are many fans, myself included, that do not agree with the idea of Dumbledore being evil. JK Rowling has taken too much time building his character; she would not betray us like that. A plot twist is one thing, but to throw away a character's being to start a new one with the same name is not a plot twist.
"Is Dumbledore evil? This one stems mainly from his look of triumph when Harry tells Dumbledore that Voldemort touched him at the end of book four. This may, however, stem from the fact that Dumbledore knows more about this than Voldemort, and that there will be bad side effects from his use of Harry's blood. I doubt that Dumbledore is really on Voldemort's side - he has stopped him so many times and missed millions of opportunities to hand Harry over to him." -Rumors Mill

"Bad side effects" is the primary defense for Dumbledore. He must know something about the use of blood in potions that Voldemort overlooked. It could be that Voldemort and Harry will be connected in much the same way as their wands were. They might be unable to fight each other, just as Fawkes' feathers would not fight each other.

There are many elaborations on this basic idea of "Dumbledore knew something Voldemort didn't" in fan fiction. Here is one example, Harry has just woken up in the Hospital Wing after battling Voldemort:

Gryffindors and Slytherins by Ayla Pascal:

Harry wrinkled his forehead. ‘Why wasn’t I killed?’ he asked, ‘the last thing I remember was being hit by the Avada Kedavra curse.’

Dumbledore smiled at these words. ‘Voldemort didn’t know what he was meddling with when he used your blood to resurrect himself three years ago. That blood bound you with him so that when he tried to kill you he also tried to kill himself. Avada Kedavra only works when you have a strong desire to kill the person… but it never works on oneself. Voldemort couldn’t kill you because he would never kill himself.’

And branching off this:

"Well, I think that you have to do a lot of research to find a hypothesis. In book three, Dumbledore tells Harry that he and Wormtail have a blood bond since Harry saved his life. Well, Harry and Wormtail both have parts of their bodies in Voldemort. So, maybe their blood bond together will help bring Voldemort's downfall? You never know." -Dean (PotterLegacy)

Another intriguing theory has been circulated around, this is the best explination of it I've found:
"Voldemort used Harry's blood to come back to life. At the beginning of the 1st book, Hagrid said he didn't have enough human left in him to die. Well, now he does. He's got Harry in him. And Harry's human. So when Harry told him about cutting him and getting his blood (which, I believe, was when the gleam showed up) Dumbledore realized that Voldemort now had human weaknesses, and could be killed."
- Blackflames from Ravenclaw (VWOHP)

Just imagine what this would mean to the magical world!

Other fans argue that Dumbledore is Harry's mentor, and would not turn on him. And as far as putting him in dangerous situations goes...

"JKR has said the books are about good and evil and making choices. I think it would be a betrayal of the trust we have placed in Dumbledore if he turned evil. And I think that would spoil the story. He does put Harry in some dangerous situations, but have you noticed that he is nearby and comes to his rescue when necessary? I think he knows a lot more about why Harry is so special (aside from being the boy who lived) and he (Dumbledore) knows that Harry has to have certain challenges and experiences to develop his full potential. He also prepares him for all of this in a very subtle way. I do agree, however, that he is very peculiar -which is what makes him so interesting." -Holly Lawrence from the HOL Forum

Shadows: Those in Between

Some people choose the gray area. In Raised to the Third Power (fan fiction, read the prequels first) by Iniga, Dumbledore allowed Harry to meet Voldemort with the idea that he would take Harry's blood. The reason, however, was that taking Harry's blood made Voldemort mortal to Harry. Harry became the only person who could kill the heretofore immortal Dark Lord. He is giving Voldemort the resources to rise, but only so he can be defeated once and for all. Is that evil or good?

There's also the possibility that something will happen to Dumbledore.

"...It's very likely he will die. Not only were a lot of references made about how old he's looking, but too many people keep saying something to the effect of 'as long as we have Dumbledore, there's nothing to worry about' (not an exact quote). Usually that isn't a good omen for that character." -Moonyfan in WWOHP message board.
