Jonathan is the son of a proclaimed scientist who was in the process of making a robot more human than anyone knew. Jonathan spent most of his time moving from city to city going to new schools and making new friends all the time. Upon reaching their last city, Jonathan's father was hired by the government to produce this robot for them named Sentient. He was stationed at a mititary base so that he may build this robot. Jonathan now realized that he might actually have a chance to make friends and keep them. One day while walking home from school, a man running from the police hit Jonathan. The man was captured but Jonathan was sent to the hospital. His condition was critical and the doctors didn't think he would make it through the night. Jonathan's father, fearing that he would never have a chance to see his son grow up, took Jonathan to the base and transfered the young boys essence into the robot. He used all of Jonathan internal organs and blood to make finish the robot. Jonathan's brain was the only part that was damage and his father took chips and planted them into the parts that needed to be fixed. These chips contained extensive knowledge about things that Jonathan wouldn't learn until he was in college. His dad also planted a chip inside his brain that when Jonathan found out the truth of what he was that the chip would upload all the information about repairing and building an older version. The robot was every part real except for his skeleton and his outer structure. After his father was finished, he activated the robot and Jonathan was alive again. Jonathan never remembered what happened that day, and never will.

A few days later, Jonathan met a young boy by the name of Alex. These two soon became inseperable. They also seemed to get into mischief, running around on the base looking into hangars they weren't supposed to. After a few years of living there, Jonathan soon discovered that he was able to change his form into different things. He discovered that he could change his appearance into anyone that came to mind. Happy of his new secret, he ran and told his friend Alex. But Alex had a secret too. He told Jonathan that he could read minds and control things. After finding out Alex's secret, Jonathan realized that he was able to mimic Alex's powers. The two soon realized that their mischief was about to get even better than it was. Jonathan and Alex began to get into restricted areas, looking at things only soldiers and scientists could see. They thought the idea was awesome.
