There's no way around the fact that Red XIII looks like something you'd expect to be running from if you were lost in some jungle. He's got sharp teeth, frightening claws, and bright red fur. But Red XIII is actually one of the most intelligent characters in the game. You inadvertently 'rescue' him from Shinra Inc. while trying to save Aeris, and he joins you as a result. He is forty-years old, but for his species that's considered to be teenager material (a fact which Red XIII prefers to ignore). Unfortunately, he is ashamed of his father, because he believes he was a coward. While the people who knew his father tell him otherwise, Red XIII is too stubborn to listen.

Yes, that is a cat with a megaphone . He rides around on a giant stuffed mog, which Cait Sith brought to life with his mysterious powers, and he is one of my favourite characters. An odd creature, Cait Sith is best described as 'happy-go-lucky', seeing as how he is a bit of a laid-back gambler. Of course, he is a powerful fighter (when his attacks work), and a good character to have. Always great for a laugh, and naturally he has other uses too. Cait Sith's favourite hobby is predicting the future. When he's not bang on the marker, he's way off, but then what do you expect from a talking cat? All in all, Cait Sith is a worthwhile character, even though some people might find him a bit TOO bizarre from time to time.
