Here is a list of our facalities:
Barns and Stalls:

Other
Barns:
All barns at Oakland are safe, clean, and organized. Each barn has just the right amount of lighting, and air conditioning or selective heating (heating only in stalls) can be turned on if necessary. Natural light is an important aspect of the Oakland barns, so each barn has an adequate amount of it during the day. All barns have a security system set up, which adds to the safe atmosphere. The system is activated at all times, and only a few select people know the code. There are also wash stalls, a tack room, a feed room, and washrooms in each barn.
Stalls:
Each stall measures 16'x16', is equipped with automatic waterers, a flat back feed bucket in the corner, a stall ball and windows for extra ventilation. They are padded with rubber matting and a thick layer of wood shavings (unless otherwise indicated) on top. The stalls are mucked daily, and cleaned and disinfected every weekend. There is a bridle peg and a saddle rack outside each stall, plus extra hooks if needed. Cross-ties are placed along the wall between every two to three stalls. Security cameras are also placed in non-conspicuous areas in each stall, and there are several fire detectors distributed around the barn. If a fire does occur, the main house will be notified immediately, and the sprinklers will activate, but the alarm will not ring loudly in the barn as they normally would. This is to refrain from spooking the stalled horses. There are also easily accessible fire extinguishers placed at numerous locations in the barns.
Paddocks:
We have many paddocks, all of which are inspected (weekly). We have installed an irrigation system which keeps the grass green and lush. All our paddocks are fenced with strong, painted wood, which has rounded corners; a large, three-wall, run-in shed for shelter; sufficient trees for natural shade and/or shelter; clean, automatic waterers; and hay will be placed in the shed. We also have special, horse-proof locks on our paddock gates to prevent any mishaps.
Trails:
We have numerous trails, some leading to forest areas, meadows, and even a beach. All trails are marked, and maps of each trail are available at the front office. During different seasons during the year, some trails may be closed, due to un-ridable conditions. Our trails can be rented out for endurance shows or any other kind of show.
Arenas:
All of the arena's have sand over the rubber which is covering a sturdy concrete base . The sand has been specially treated to keep dust down to help keep the horses healthy. The cement base is covered in a shock absorbing rubber mat, so if the sand shifts the horses aren't forced to walk on cement. The indoor arena has insulation and heating for the winter and fans as well as excellent ventalation for the summer. Our arenas can also be rented out for shows.
Extras:
The sixty foot rounds pens are excellent for lunging. The hot walker is unique. The horses are not tied to it as usual, instead they each have seperate compartments. It is electrical and can be programmed to different speeds such as the trot and even the canter, though it is not recomended to go faster than a trot. The race track is a wonderful facility. It has treated sand footing (to reduce dust), distance poles, a timing booth in the center of the infield (which is very useful for training), a portable ten horse starting gate, and seating for approx. 200-300 people. Our race track can also be rented out.
