The Races of Shero

In ages long past and long forgotten, the force known as Magic was wild and untamed.  It was the lifeblood - the very pulse - of the Five Lands.  It was through the Magic that life began.  Magic became manifest as the Races - beings of Magic born with the beauty of its intracacy.

Each Race was endowed with its own trait of Magic.  While all the Races were born of the Magic, there were Five in particular which were able to commune with the individual facets of Magic.  Each of these Five Caretaking Races held some sway in their particular Element.  The Elves could feel and commune with the peculiar and particular Magic of Earth and all that dwelt upon it.  The Dwarves were endowed with the understanding of the Water and its denziens.  The Orcs were blessed with being the Shamans of the Air Magic, feeling its pulse and soaring amidst its many eddies in the endless Sky.  The Humans were made as the caretakers of the Magic of Fire and the burning passion of life that it holds as its namesake.  Above the Four presided the Aeorn.  The Aeorn were blessed with the ability to draw from all the facets of Magic and commune freely with all that existed.

The Elves were placed within the lush forests of the northern land, Katarita.  The Magic of Earth pulsed with a singular passion throughout the land of Katarita.  Water and Air blended in with the Earth to provide the resources for Life to exist.  Many creatures resided within the Forests of Katarita and Life flourished.  Under the gentle hand of the Elves, Caretakers of Earth, the land of Katarita became one of the most beautiful of all the Five Lands.

The Dwarves resided upon the islands of the Eastern Reach, amidst the Jorenon Ocean.  The Magic of Water flowed freely amidst the many islands, lending strength to the Dwarven people.  Many varieties of creatures dwelt within its protective waters, and more than a few lived upon the islands themselves.  The healing magics of the Inner Sea kept the Eastern Reach under a protective umbrella of good health.

It was the Raelnoch Heights where the Orcs were brought into being - a large island, set apart from the rest of the world by high, craggy cliffs.  The Magic of Air swirled about the island in a chaotic assembly of power.  Trees could not stand as they would be blown away by the strong winds of the island.  The Orcs spoke with the Winds' Servants, the Rocs, and thus learned of the other Lands and their states.  The Rocs were a special, almost symbiotic, Race to the Orcs - for it was by the Rocs that the Orcs spoke with the Winds.  In turn, the Orcs cared for the Rocs and provided them shelter amidst the cliffs of Raelnoch.  The two complemented each other and kept the wild and free Magic of Air in constant work throughout the Five Lands.
