Interview With the Vampire

Okay, I'm of two minds as to whether the book was better or not. I saw the movie first. Actually, I read the Vampire Lestat first, but you know what I mean. The movie sacraficed a lot of plot (most of the Europe trip) and did what they could with the cast. Antonio Banderas is a wonderful actor, but I find fault with a 30 something year old man with long black hair and a spanish accent protraying a sixteen year old red haired russian boy. But that's just me. The actual characters were portrayed quite well, and I thought Tom Cruise mad a smashing Lestat! I doubt I will be so generous with the upcoming movie...

"Merciful death, how you love your precious guilt"-Lestat

"It was something hurries...and seldom savoured... something acute that was quickly lost. It was the pale shadow of killing.-Louis"

"We alone can give death meaning. Do you know what it means to be loved by death, to become our bride? " - Santiago

"I know nothing of God or the Devil, I have never seen a vision nor learnt a secret that would damn or save my soul. And as far as I know, after four hundred years I am the oldest living vampire in the world."-Armand
