Weyrwoman's Third Rowena, of Gold Qwyneth

Ro brings to mind the image of a young vixen fox, her face angular and thin. Her hair is chesnut colored with streaks of gold and auburn, and she wears it to her neck, tied bak in a tail. Her eyes are wide and tilted, and greyish blue. She is tall, with a slim and boyish figure. She often wears mens clothing, and doesn't give a second thought to how she looks.

Rowena was born the second daughter of a family of seven. She was in the middle, with two older brothers and an older sister. She spent most of her 'childhood' working in the cothold, doing whatever tasks her mother, Kilyera, told her to. Ro longed to be a smithcrafter, like her brother Halbren and her grandfather. But her mother deined her an apprenticeship, caliming that Ro was a girl and it was her duty to marry. Unforutanetly, Ro turned out to be a bit of a tomboy. She spent her free time exploring, and hunting in the area around her cothold.

Her older sister was soon maried and moved into a cothold of her own. Ro showed no promise of catching herself a husband, and her mother did all she could to find one for her youngest daughter. But despite's Ro's hardiness and youth, her quick tongue and fiery temper scared away many men who would have otherwise been convinced to wed her. At sixteen, she had resigned herself to a life of drudgery in her own hold.

One evening, while weeding the garden, a searchdragon from Inelt Cove passed over the hold. The brown and his rider stopped over at the hold, and Ro's family was informed she was suitable candidate material. Kilyera tried to disuade the rider, but Ro took control of the situation and was out of the hold in a matetr of minutes,

Ro stood at Fiannath's clucth, sure of herself that this what she had been emant for. But, sadly, she was one of the few left standing. Being left was a strong emotional blow, and she retreated into herself for a bit. But she continued on as a candidate, and the senior queen Evelieth laid a clutch, with a gold egg.

During Ro's second stint as a candidate, she fell in love for the first time. She had flirted a bit with a few of her male friends, but nothing had ever come of it. Then she met Amatria's cousin. A grandson of the Lord of Fort Hold, Winlam. She met him at Fianath's hatching feast, and the two became fast friends. Soon, Ro felt more for him then just friendly deelings, allowing herself to admit it when they ended up in a comprimising position on the floor of the candidate bararcks. The feelings were recpricated, and Ro was certain she had found her human lifemate. But then came the hatching. Ro, to noone's surprise, Impressed the young Queen Qwyneth. It was the greatest moment of her life. Winlam Impressed brown, and despite the fact that browns often flew queens, decided he and Ro had no future together. The two fought, harsh words were passed, and the relationship was ended.

Ro breezed through weyrling traning, with the help of P'llayrus, encounering no real problems. Her time was not her own, having to take many classes to be ready to assume her duties on graduation. She is now just stepping up as Weyrwoman's third, and is deeply involved with the dragonless beastcrafter Vandor. She has many fears, including Qwyneth's first flight, but refuses to back down from a challenge.
