Weyrhealer Mernia

Mernia was born one of the oldest child of holders. She was sent off for an apprenticeship as soon as she was thirteen, as had been done with most of her siblings. She opted for the Healer hall, and showed a flair for the craft. She had a few good friends, but her businesslike manner tended to put people off. She was a healer before everything else. She showed some trouble at first, and didn't earn her journeywoman knots until she was twenty one. She was always just a bit behind the rest of the class, and was held back. Despite this setback, Mernia sought out extra lessons, and was able to make up for what she lacked in academic studies by her skill in actual healing. Her diagnosis were almost always accurate, and she seemed to have a knack for herbs. She had less trouble as a journeywoman, and earned her mastership at the age of twenty eight. Her specialty was birthing, and had succeeded in helping many women through difficult births.

While visiting her younger brother D'ret at Inlet Cove, she learned that they had no permanant healer and decided to stay on there. She was appointed Weyhealer, and settled into the role quickly and easily. She is known as a bit of a tyrant among the younger aprentices, and even the journeymen. She won't stand blubbering or incompetance. She has a brusque manner but a light touch, and isn't above trying contreversial methods, including water healing. She does get attached to certain patients, but never lets on. Two particular cases that have effected her are Greenrider Renalla's difficult preganancy, and beastcrafter Vandor's temporary paralysis.
