D'ret has a mischevious look to him, tall and slim with dark brown eyes and well toned muscles. His hair is short tousled, dark brown and full. His skin is lightly tanned from exposure to the warm Southern sun, and he moves with a quick grace. Wingrider D'ret of bronze Krenth
Daret was the youngest son of a very large family. Being the youngest, he didn't receive much attention from his parents. He acted out, and got into quite a bit of trouble in the hold. He got into fights with his siblings, he made mud hand prints on the clean wash, and he gave the family canine a bowl of wine. As soon as he turned twelve, he was shipped off to the Miner crafthall, where his family figured he could do the least damage. He didn't cause much damage, but he wasn't too productive either. He didn't pay much attention to his lessons, and was more interested in sleeping than working. His master decided that mining just wasn't for him, and that Daret would do better in a quieter, more mental craft. He was sent to the Healer crafthall with a few marks and a letter of recommendation.
Healing didn't work out for Daret too well either. He wound bandages too tight, mixed the wrong herbs, and everyone shuddered to think what he would do with sutures. Not to mention the unfortunate numbweed incident which kept Daret in bed for a week. After that, he was asked what Craft he might enjoy. He decided on glasscrafting, but that didn't work out either. He travelled from the Baker Craft Hall, to the Beast Craft Hall, Tanner craft hall, Wood Craft Hall, Vinter craft hall, Weaver Craft hall to the Smith Craft Hall, and every Hall in between before coming to the Harper Hall and finally to Fort Weyr. He spent little time in each craft, never more than a few months. He stayed the longest in the Beast craft Hall, and the shortest in the Vintner Hall. He didn't seem to fit in anywhere. At this point, his lack of a work ethic and his habit of causing trouble was more a way of life than a cry for attention.
Unfortunately, the Weyr was probably the worst place to send him. He got into more trouble there than anywhere else. When he didn't Impress at his first standing, the candidate master approached the Weyrleader as to what could be done. It was found out that Daret had two older brothers at inlet Cove Weyr, and so they decided to send him there as a candidate and get him out of their hair.
At Inlet, Daret was treated differently. He was punished, but that was it. He covered a green dragon completely in flour, and was reprimanded and given extra chores, but not kicked out of the weyr. For a candidate prank, he drugged the candiate master and dressed him as a woman. He was applauded for his creativity. Then, at Fiannath's hatching, Daret became D'ret when he Impressed broze Krenth.
After Impressing, D'ret was forced to grow up some. He never lost his mischievousness, but he cut out the pranks and followed the rules. He was a natural born leader, and placed in classes for those with wingleader potential. He has many friends, a way with the ladies, and a very quick mind. He spreads his attentions out equally, and sometimes breaks a few hearts in the process.
