Yamcha during Dragon Ball A desert bandit,
Yamcha makes his appearance in Dragon Ball with sword in hand.
He lives in a large, secluded desert area and has made quite a
reputation for himself by robbing unsuspecting travelers of their
money and capsules, that have wandered into his domain.
Yamcha makes an attempt to look clean cut...Yamcha is now dating
Bulma and has made an attempt to appear a little more presentable.
Yamcha in 22nd Budoukai- During the 22nd Budoukai,
Yamcha has a slightly different hair style with his hair being
shorter.
Yamcha in 23rd Budoukai- Yamcha has grown
his hair out again and keeps it confined in a ponytail.
Yamcha prior to Saiyan Saga- Prior to the
Saiyan Saga, Yamcha and Bulma have had a falling out. Yamcha is
playing Baseball and is not happy about this boring job, wanting
the excitement of the fight. He gets his wish briefly when a fight
erupt on the field. Afterwards, he quits when Bulma arrives to
tell him of the new threat that awaits the fighters.
Yamcha in Saiyan Saga- Upon the defeat of
Radditz, the Z fighters are reunited and begin intense training
under the direction of Mr. Popo and Kami. Yamcha's hair is long
and just as unruly as it was during the first part of the Dragon
Ball series. When Nappa and Radditz arrive on Earth, Yamcha faces
off against one of the Saibamen that Nappa releases. His strength
and cocky attitude make him feel as if he is invincible. Unfortunately,
the Saibaman he was battling self destructs and kills him in the
blast.
Yamcha dead- Yamcha and the other fighters travel to King Kai's
planet to continue their training. They do considerably well and
Yamcha again shows his strengths during the training and the battle
with the members of the Ginyu Force. He is the one that must break
the news of Goku's supposed destruction when Planet Namek blows
up. He chooses to do this through Bulma and uses King Kai's abilities
to do this. When he is wished back, he lands in the Capsule Corp
fish pond, but is extremely happy to be back on Earth and with
Bulma.
Yamcha in Trunks Saga- During the time before
the arrival of Trunks, Yamcha is living at Capsule Corps and has
cut his hair again (Looks like Mrs. Briefs took a bowl and pair
of scissors to his head). When Vegeta returns, Yamcha is shocked
at how Bulma handles the proud Saiyan. Although he knows that
Vegeta is more powerful than he, he can't admit it to himself.
When Frieza and King Cold are sensed heading towards the Earth,
Yamcha shows his fear of the possibility of being killed again.
Although he is afraid, he continues on. After Freiza is killed
at the hands of Trunks and Goku returns, Yamcha and the others
make the decision to train on their own. At first Yamcha does
not take his training very seriously. Staying at Capsule Corps,
Yamcha is challenged by Vegeta's persistence and Saiyan strength.
Yamcha, sneaks into Vegeta's gravitron and sets up the same program
that Vegeta is training under. He wants to prove to himself that
he can be just as powerful. Unfortunately, his human body can
not stand up the awesome gravity that Vegeta has gotten used to.
Yamcha barely is able to turn off the gravity before it crushes
him. Although still cocky, Yamcha gains new respect for the Saiyan
when Vegeta pushes himself even more. From this point on, Yamcha
takes his training more seriously.
Yamcha during Android Saga- When the Z fighters
all meet at the chosen location of the Android arrival, Yamcha
has cut his hair again. This time it is more spiky in appearance.
When the others arrive and find Bulma with a baby they question
Yamcha who they think is the father. Yamcha denies it and seems
really broken up. The others learn, due to Goku's prior knowledge
of the future, that Vegeta is the father. Poor Yamcha. Yamcha,
more confident, flies into the city with the others when the Androids
are spotted and help in the search.
Yamcha with new look! Nice hole there in your
chest!- Yamcha is the first to meet the Androids, although he
is not aware that the two strange characters are his foes. He
soon notices the Red Ribbon Army symbol on their clothing and
attempts to warn his friends. Unfortunately, Android 20 is able
to silence his by placing his hand over Yamcha's mouth and lifting
him from the ground. Yamcha is defenseless as the Android drains
his power. Luckily the others are alerted to his whereabouts by
his rapidly fading life force. But before his friends can reach
him, Android 20 stabs his entire arm through Yamcha's chest, leaving
a gapping, bloody hole and leaving the fighter almost dead. Luckily,
Goku and the others are able to arrive in time to save him and
Krillin is enlisted to take Yamcha's battered body back to when
Bulma waits with the senzu beans. Although he was almost killed
again, and is scared of what this new fight holds, Yamcha's concern
for Goku and the others overrules these emotions and he quickly
sets out after his friends in order to warn them of the Android's
ability to drain a persons powers. When he arrives at the fight
and Goku is struck with the heart virus, Yamcha is enlisted to
carry his unconscious body back to his home to get the medication
Trunks left behind. Yamcha stays by Goku's side and does little
fighting from this point on.
