That Night

I saw your eyes begin to close

Felt your hand squeeze tightly mine

My heart was strangely at a calm

While I turned towards the sky

I clearly remember the sky that night

A deep ceruealean hue

Millions of stars fell from heaven's eyes

And they seemed to fall for you

Years have passed and life goes on

But its burnt into my mind

The night's events are too profound

To fade away with time

The past has started to fall away

And yet you haunt me still

Because I know this aching void

The world can never fill
