Zack joined the Maverick Hunters at a young age, but has proven to be an excellent hunter through many battles. He joined the Hunters after the Earth Reconstruction and was given command of the 19th Unit for his part in the Limited Maverick War.

Zack tends to be more laid-back than most other commanders and has been known to be somewhat absent minded, but he remains focused in his command and his duty.

Zack's weapon of choice is known as a gunblade, which is a weapon combining a buster gun with a long blade. It can be used for both long range and melee.
