Slash Beast looked around the now abandoned Doppler Town. Beast was given back his command and now his unit was investigating Doppler Town for any materials that could be reused.

'Peace seems to have returned again.' Beast's mind was wondering when they reached Doppler Town. He continued to scan the area. 'The place seems different with no one around. Almost like a ghost town. Anything could come out...'

"Excuse me, sir."

Slash Beast jumped and turned to face a lupine reploid of his unit. "Don't...do...that..."

"Sorry sir. I came to report that we have gathered as much as we could and we are ready to leave."

Slash Beast looked back at the central complex of Doppler Town. Something didn't seem right. "Tell everyone to return to base. I want to take a look at that place. You can come with me."

"Yes sir."

Beast and the lupine entered the building. A few lights in the area lit the place. "This doesn't look right..." said Beast.

"Sir. This can't be right, but I getting readings this place is engaging the power systems!" Beast turned to the reploid. "What?! This place is reactivating? Get back and report this to base!"

"Yes sir!" and the reploid ran out.

Beast turned to face the glowing darkness. 'This can't be right! Something is wrong!" He turned to run back out when a bolt of energy flew out from the darkness and hit him, going through his leg.

"ARRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!" Beast fell down, gripping his leg as circuitry fluid dripped down onto the floor. He kneeled on the floor staring into the darkness to find his assailant. Out of the darkness, a green form emerged.

"Sting Chameleon?!" Beast couldn't believe it. A Maverick from the first war? What was he doing here? However, Sting wasn't alone. Three more forms soon followed; Bubble Crab, Gravity Beetle and Cyber Peacock.

Peacock chuckled. "Well...Slash Beast. How nice it is to see you again." "What is this?!" Beast commanded, "What is going on?!" Peacock laughed again. "Isn't it obvious?" came a voice from behind the four. The Mavericks turned and parted, showing a pair of red eyes staring out from the darkness. Shivers went up Beast's spine. "Sigma?"

"No." said the voice. This voice was more menacing, more evil. "I now lead the Mavericks. Sigma was unable to fulfill the promise he made so long ago. However I am able to lead us to what Sigma failed to do four times. And you will be able to help us."

Beast tried to stand, but his injured leg brought him back down. "I will NOT help you with more bloodshed!"

The voice laughed. "You will once you see the new future of the Reploid race." The four Mavericks took a step towards the wounded reploid.

"Commander!" A shout came from behind followed by a bright flash that blinded the four Mavericks. The lupine reploid run in beside Slash Beast. "Commander! Are you alright?" "urr...Just get me out of here and fast!" The lupine took one of his commander's arms and they ran out of the room.

"Stop them!" shouted Peacock. "Send out the Capture Units!"

The two reploids ran out of the building and ran towards a shuttle that was waiting.

"I was able to keep a shuttle here before they left for base." reported the lupine. "Good work," said Beast. "I will recommend a promotion for you with the Colonel." The tow reached the shuttle when the lupine saw flying robots closing in on them.

"Get us out of here! And fast! The commander's been injured!" The lupine aided his commander into the shuttle and turned to attack the pursuers. But when he turned, he saw each one explode. "What the...?!" He couldn't explain it, but he also didn't have the time. He jumped into the shuttle and it was able to speed out of Doppler Town.

"Commander, are you alright?" Beast looked down at his injured leg. "I will be...now that we are out of there..." "What do we do now?" the officer asked. Beast could only think of one thing. The one group that dealt with matters like this, and they may be the only ones to counter this new threat. "Contact the Maverick Hunters..."

The new war begins...

DopplerTown

Zymas, Kain, Ghost, and Avirex are sent to explore the DopplerTown area.They discover that the building has been reactivated, but for what purpose is unknown. After several encounters with the Mavericks, they meet the new leader of the Mavericks, a reploid who is known as Omega.

After the hunters return from DopplerTown, a world-wide announcement was made by the new Mavericks, declaring war.

Six hunter, Hunter Default, Ghost, Ken Hidaka, Taharial, Proton, and Kain enter the snow base to face Chill Penguin. They have been able to defeat him, but with no knowledge as to why the Mavericks have returned or the purpose of the war.

Five Hunter, Default, Ghost, Ken Hidaka, Gilgamesh, and Proton face Spark Mandril and are able to defat him.

Default, Hidaka and Gilgamesh go after Armored Armidillo. The hunters were able to find out more information about Omega's intentios from Armidillo and were able to defeat him.

According to Armidillo, Omega is fighting for the Reploid utopia that Sigma had promised long ago and the only way to achieve that goal is to remove the 'weaker' human race.

Grim, Ken, Ghost, and D went after Boomer Kuwanger at the Tidal Tower and easily defeat the Maverick.

After his defeat, the hunters gain an emergency message from the base, reporting that they are under attack. Grim led Ken and Ghost into the base while Zero led Default and Bolt to take care of Mavericks outside. Both groups encountered class A Mavericks, but Ken and Ghost also saw an unknown female reploid abduct Magma Dragoon. The hunters plan a Search and Rescue mission.

With help from Repliforce an other civilian help, repairs to the Hunter base was increased, freeing Hunters to begin the mission. A group of Hunters; Zymas, Ghost, Default, Kinnin and Hidaka, led by X and guided by Sites of the 13th Unit, the group infiltrated the base where the confronted the Maverick who led the attack, Ihadurca and was confronted by Dragoon.

Ihadurca captured Dragoon to test a new type of virus that was developed. Out-fitted with a new type of armor, the hunters faced with Dragoon, but Dragoon was able to fight off the effects of the virus and the hunters faced Ihadurca.

With the of Dragoon, the hunters were able to defeat Ihadurca, but were then confronted by the Maverick leader, Omega. Omega destroyed Ihadurca, but did not attack the hunters and the hunters then didn't attack, by orders from X, who was afraid of what power Omega had. The hunters were able to take Dragoon back to hunter base.

With Dragoon back and the hunter base under full operation, missions now can continue.

The next Maverick that was defeated was Flame Mammoth. Ghost, Kinnin, Wolfman, Panzer115, and No. 1 went to face Mammoth, but have not learned anything more about Omega or his intentions.

Ken Hidaka led a group of hunters to investigate the disturbences in Egypt at the Water Reserves near the Nile. The unknown reploid was discovered to be a reploid known as Akeem. Akeem claims to be of the acient gods of Egypt that will aid Omega in his quest. However, it was later discovered that Akeem is in fact infected with the Sigma Virus. His brother, Anubis, who looks like his brother except for his armor, has helped the Hunters in this discovery. Akeem escaped from being destroyed, but Anubis will keep the hunters informed on Akeem's actions.

Ghost, Ken and Zymas went to guard an underground lab discovered by Dr. Cain. The lab contained a capsule where a reploid was stored. The computers were running system checks, so the three hunters were to guard the area. After 22 hours, the lab was infiltrated by Cyber Peacock. Though Peacock wasn't destroyed, he was stopped from accessing the capsule. The capsule opened after the computers' systems were complete, reveling a dragon reploid known as Bahamut. Bahamut was able to aid the hunters in defeating the large Maverick. Bahamut is in the hunter base until questioning is completed.

Default, No. 1, Wolfman, Kain, and Blade Liger went after Storm Eagle at the 1001 airport. After a rough battle, the hunters were able to defeat Eagle, but he surrendered before the hunters were able to destroy him. It is undecided what will happen to Eagle, but many assume he will be destroyed.

Default, Ken, Ghost, Panzer, Wolfman and Zymas went after Launch Octopus, who is the Commander of the Maverick Unit. The hunters have been able to learn more about Omega's goals, but not his location. The hunter group were able to destroy the Maverick.

After the mission, several hunters, Default and Kinnin, were able to interrogate Storm Eagle. Eagle was able to reveal some information, however, little was of use. It was learned that Omega has no permement base. There is a major debate happening; what to do with Storm Eagle. There are many who say that he should be destroyed, but there are some that think that he might be changing his views and there is a chance that he may help the hunters. The decision is still debatable.

Default, Ken and Panzer went to investigate a castle in Europe when the base recieved a message from a group of Mavericks stating that they had captured Ghost. The group were able to locate the area and before their met their demands, Ghost appeared to help them. The Mavericks were led by a copy-cat Ghost, calling herself Poltrigiest. The battle was harsh, but Poltrigiest was defeated, but after she had severaly wounded Default. They returned to base in time, and Default was back on duty after a few days.

After much waiting, the hunters were able to go after Sting Chameleon. The journey was delayed when Ghost was encountered by Poltrigiest and the others faced a large rock Maverick. However, they were able to face Sting Chameleon and after a long battle, he was destroyed.

In an unknown location...

Omega looked out to the fading sunlight.

"Excuse me sir..."

Omega turned to see one of his units come in. Flame Stag and Cyber Peacock looked at him, giving the reploid the chills.

"I came...to report...s-sir...."

"Yes?"

"Sting Chameleon has been destroyed sir..."

Omega closed in eyes and turned from the reploid. "Flame Stag, get the next unit ready..."

Stag bowed and walked out, leaving Peacock alone with his leader.

"What do we do now?"

"We continue with the operation."

"What about Eagle? He hasn't been destroyed and the Hunters could turn him against us."

"Leave him alone."

Peacock looked at Omega with concern. "He could betray us! Why would you leave him?!"

Omega tunred to Peacock, giving him shivers. "If we do not succeed in this operation, then those reploids involved deserve a chace to live their own lives. Eagle had changed since his ressurection. If he chooses not to continue with this operation, then I will not punish him."

Peacock turned from him. "You're being too easy on them...."

"They will not stop until we are defeated..."said Omega. "So it has been in our history, they won't let us continue. It cannot be helped if the humans or bystandards are in our way...we have seen that from General's own actions. If Eagle chooses differently, then let him. Unlike Sigma, I don't destroy everything."

He had a hatred for Sigma, and Peacock knew that. All of the Mavericks knew that. In a way, they all shared that hatred, but Peacock had to wonder.

"There are many Mavericks who are against you." he said.

Omega nodded. "I don't understand why, but let them do what they want. Those who do stand in my way...I'll will deal with them."

Peacock looked back at him. "Mercy to those you choose?"

"I will spare as many as I can, but if I must cut down the barrier that stands between our new home and future, then I will. Prepare for Plan 2."

Attacks by the 'clones' become more frequent, and with each attack, there are many surprises. Kyo, a clone of Ken Hidaka, claims to lead these Mavericks who's goals appear to take down the Repliforce, Omega's Mavericks and the Maverick hunters. The clones had made an attack onto the Repliforce, which caused them to take refuge at the Maverick Hunter HQ. Poltergiest makes periodic appearences to annoy Ghost. A clone of Slash Beast has appeared and now, as of this moment, all is quiet.

During this quiet phase, a strange attack was made by Grim. Several hunters made an attempt to stop him, but it was later discovered that this was an imposter, calling himself 'Iori'. Before leaving after a large battle, Iori was able to destroy Storm Eagle. His current location is unknown, and no one knows if he has a part of these 'clones'.

Hunter Mega Boy went to the lab of his creator looking for plans, when he discovered a young female dragon reploid hiding in the lab remains. After a moment, an unknown Maverick made an attack, trying to 'reclaim' the young reploid. MegaBoy was able to defeat the Maverick and brought the replpoid back to base. The reploid, Yuki, is being treated for her injuries. Apparently, the reploid was a member of a 'slaver' group. These slavers are capturing low-rated and old reploids to put them into slave labor. Action is being determined on this matter.

Wolfman made a visit to the Alaskan base to visit Blizzard Wolf. After a small talk, Wolf recieved a leg upgrade, but a Maverick assult broke out. With Wolf's aid and the arrival of additional hunters, they have stopped the assult.

A surprise attack was made on Panzer by Ein, a canine reploid who she had befriended and recently wanted to join the Maverick Hunters. He claimed to have died and been reborn, going 'Malkavian'. (Allusion to Vampire: The Masquerade). After what seemed to be a difficult battle between him, Panzer, Ken, Bahamut and Phantom, he was able to be defeated, and gave his last words to Panzer.

Later, Phantom undergoes a strange illness. He was rushed to the infirmary, where he throws up, but the mass that came from within came to life and escaped the base. With orders to capture this strange 'thing', Kinnin, Ken, Panzer, and Phantom made their way to the Water Sanitation Center, when the 'thing' made its escape. After a short pursuit, they discovered a 'bio-reploid', which was mainly a reploid, but conatined the biological information from Phantom. In a sense, he was a clone of Phantom. He made his escape from the hunters to join the other clones.

After a strange occurence, Wolfman made a escape from the Hunter HQ and to an unknown location. There, he was acaptured and met his 'family'. The group of reploids were the creations after him by Dr. Odinn. Much to Wolf's dismay, they have joined Omega since they had no other place to go. Wolfman accepted an upgrade that claimed to repair the 'faulty intellegence' he had. Meanwhile, Kinnin, Ken, Panzer and Bolt went after him to find him and bring him back to base. There, a surprise battle erupted between Wolf and Fenris, one of his brothers. Wolfman defeated Fenris and after a heated argument between him and Bolt, the Hunters returned home.

Action is being planned for the 'clones', but nothing is known yet.

Yuki, the reploid rescued by Mega Boy has decided to join the Maverick Hunters. She is being trained by Bahamut. During training, the base recieved an unknown transmission, demanding that Yuki was to be returned. Bahamut, Yuki and several hunters went to investigate. The reploids were slavers, Yuki's 'owners'. Refusing to give her up, the hunters were ambushed, while the Mavericks were ambushed themselves by reinforcments, the hunters were able to destory the Mavericks.

It is later learned that Yuki is Bahamut's sister.

During a funeral for Ein and Fenris, a brother of Wolfman's, Wolf finds his fmaily near the cemetary, mourning the lose. It is learned that the remaining family members have left Omega and were on their own. A surprise visit was made by Ora, the Maverick brother and attacked. X, Alai, Dragoon and Zero along with serveral other hunters fought Ora, protecting the other wolves. Ora proved to be a difficult fight, but was defeated.

The Hunter Base recieved a message from a Repliforce airship, who reported that they have found a Maverick Base. However, due to interference, the message was having trouble getting through and the hunters couldn't teleport in or out of the area. Led by X, Zero and Dragoon, the hunter group managed to get on board the base, where they encountered an unusually strong force. After a long battle, the hunters met Omega, who again tried to convince some of the hunters to see what he was doing. After a brief conversation, Omega reveiled that he planned to destroy the base and escaped. The hunters managed to escape with the aid of Douglas and the Repliforce. Surprising to the group, the airship caused little damage to the surrounding area.
Later, information reguarding the next group of Mavericks began to come in.

After clearing up much of the false and confusing information, Alia was finally able to discover the final Maverick base. The final mission was about to commence.
The base appeared to be an abandoned labratory in the Arctic Circle. The hunters met with a large reploid, now known as 'Diamond WEAPON' and strange crystal reploids, the hunters finally confronted Omega. The battle was hard, but it only got harder when Omega transformed into Omega WEAPON, a large four legged beast reploid. All the hunters used every bit of strength; which included a kamikazi attack by Ken Hidaka, and Omega was finally defeated.
He had a last request, and that was to be buried at the Arctic, the place of his creation. A final moment of silence and the hunters returned home.

The group slowly disappears, most are returning to base.

The arctic is quiet, and a lone figure approaches the grave of Omega. He looks down at it, and then looks to the item in his hadn, Omega's beam sword.

"I do not understand why you did it. I tried to, but...
But now, I will have to do my own thing, I don't know when, I'm still confused. But someday, I will return, and I will meet, the Maverick Hunters..."

He turns and walks towards the arctic horizon.
