Dragoon is the commander of the 14th Maverick Unit. His main weapon is his melee combat, with flamethrowers that are able to add extra damage to his attacks. When in a highly hot area, he is able to use the heat to generate a powerful flame attack. He also has a Buster Cannon as a secondary weapon.

During his first few years in the Hunters, he grew jealous of X's power and fame, which led to his betrayal of the Hunters. He was convinced by Sigma to fight for Repliforce so he would get his chance to battle X. After his defeat, *X completed his mission by returning with Dragoon's surviving parts, where it was decided that Dragoon was to be rebuilt. After he was reconstructed, he was placed back in the Hunters under X's command. He was able to redeem himself and resumed his command of the 14th Unit, with his jealousy of X and his past mistakes behind him.

Dragoon does his best to prevent his past mistakes from happening to others of the Hunters and usually watches over the new hunters that have joined.

During an attack on the Hunter Base during the Omega Maverick War, Dragoon was captured by the leader Ihadurca. Ihadurca had planned to turn Dragoon Maverick was again by subjecting him to a new type of virus, but the virus proved to be a failure. Dragoon was able to fight the virus' affects and was brought back to the hunter base.

Ihadurca fitted Dragoon with a new armor, known as the Wing Armor. This armor enhanced Dragoon's agility and gave him the ability to fly. It also added to his Buster Cannon, added a Beam Saber and gave him a Giga Attack, the Buster Blast. However, the armor also affects his fire attacks and abilities.

During the Earth Restoration, Dragoon took command of the units that were to protect the civilians as they took refuge underground. Dragoon has seen his share of battles during the Nightmare Incident. With the project's completion, he resumed his command of the 14th Unit, not knowing that he would have to fight Signas later.

During the Limited Maverick War, Dragoon's Wing Armor was upgraded to the Wing Rah. These enhancements increased Dragoon's speed and power and upgraded his Giga Attack to a three-part Giga attack, known as the Double Buster.
