Vibranium

this is a layout of vibranium-as discovered by Helix labs (an ongoing source hosted by Zan's-link at the bottom.)

Vibranium
Dr. Ryan Ashford (with Dr. Denise Edgar) for Helix Laboratories

Description
Vibranium is a rarely occurring metallic substance that exists in two related forms. The first type, Wakandan Vibranium, is found only in the isolated African kingdom, and the existence of this material has been kept hidden for many years. The second type, Antarctic Vibranium, was found only in the Antarctic territory commonly called the "Savage Land." Both forms provide strength equal to that of solid stone or volcanic rock (Incredible material strength).

Properties
I was able to do extensive testing of Wakandan Vibranium, but not its Antarctic cousin. Wakandan Vibranium is a sound absorber and will reduce any sonic- or kinetic-based attack substantially. Kinetic attacks are the result of direct contact of two objects (physical attacks), and Sonic attacks are kinetic-based attacks that directly affect the organs responsible for hearing. Sonic and kinetic attack are related; both produce vibration in an object. (In game terms, reduce all sonic attacks by -5 CS and reduce all physical attacks by the same.) Also due to the sound-absorbing nature of Wakandan Vibranium, the metal cannot be shaped easily by physical force and it cannot be destroyed by same. Also, of some note, a 6 oz. lump of Vibranium will absorb all sound in one area.

As a side note, Wakandan Vibranium has been used in the creation of metals with higher material strength than Adamantium. For example, Captain America's shield is an alloy of Adamantium and Vibranium that exhibits a material strength in the Class 3000 range.

Antarctic Vibranium was impossible to test using the instruments available in my current lab. The metal demonstrated the strangest properties of any metal I have ever seen; the small sample I was able to obtain melted the metals in my lab. (As you might imagine, Dr. Ashford's laboratory was quite a mess afterwards. Luckily an emergency grant was able to cover the costs incurred in furnishing new equipment. -- Dr. Edgar)

It would seem that this metal weakens the cohesion of metal atoms. A 6 oz. lump of Antarctic Vibranium is enough to turn all metal in a one area radius to liquid. (A beneficial aspect of this; the properties of Antarctic Vibranium have been useful in my attempts to create various alloys from Adamantium.)

Final Thoughts
I hope that the information that I have provided will be of some help. In future articles, I will be attempting to create various alloys and will be discussing their properties, as well as exploring "mystical" alloys. (Dr. Ashford's pioneering research into the process of combining mundane material components with "mystic" or supernatural substances comprises the most exciting development in mettalurgy to date. -- Dr. Edgar)
