My Original Column Rules: There can be a modifier based on the Columns on the universal table for extremely powerful things. For example, the Hulk vs. the starship enterprise, a lear jet vs. a star destroyer. The modifer is called a new "column base", and is labled with the strength (like usual,) then with "(column X)" where X is the new column base. The Bases are: X Y Z these are to be used only when the difference is so overpowering or of a different ilk that there would be a difference big enough to equal or exceed a FEAT's nemesis (eg. damage vs health, targeting vs dodging,) the way that these are used are as follows: The Universal Table is not changed and is considered to be column base 0, but when there is a new column base and there is a FEAT being attempted against it from column 0, the column base modified column acts as the column Class1000 for any thing with (column X,Y or Z). Unless the column from column 0 is equal or greater than the column modifiers letter/number, Eg. ShY (co.0) vs Fe2(co.Y), this stands. If the FEAT were being rolled with a column rank equal to the number, that column starts all over at the leftmost part of the universal table, Eg. ShX (co.0) vs RM(co. X). This FEAT would now be considered Sh0 vs RM30 on column base 0. Powers ranks are compared in this manner before any modifiers are added. Eg. i am trying to shoot a bad guy who has Ty6 (column X) dodging. My targeting is ShX, but i have a total of +3CS to hit, so I only need to roll a yellow FEAT because ShX is the same as Sh0 (column X) and i get +3CS to hit, I am now at Ty6 for my aiming FEAT, and it is a Ty FEAT vs a Ty Column strength. You cannot be reduced further than FE2 within your column Base because of modifiers. When you advance to a new column base, like I just did, your ability vs anything on Column 0 is treated as rolling in the Class 1000 column-becuse you have transcended the realm of normal powers/strengths. To do this, however, there are restrictions, your Rank plus your Column base must exceed ShZ. Eg. Gd10 (column X)-so 4 column shifts right of ShX which exceeds Shift Z. TY would be the minimum with column X to roll in the CL1000 column vs Sh0. ShZ column base requires at least FE2 rank. FEATs vs each other from inside new bases are treated as their rank with a modifier based on their column base. Eg. AM (co.X) vs IN (Co. Y) are treated the same. Amazing is Rolled as Amazing (Co.0) and Incredible is rolled as Incredible on column 0 with a plus 1 CS modifier because column Y is one column greater than column X. If the ranks are 4 or more apart, the column base is rolled instead vs the opposing rank, and the column base counts as a modifier going from shift Z. So all modifiers affect the lower column base, remember that you cannot be reduced lower than Feeble. Example: (in a TY6 coX vs TY6 coY, the TY6coX now equals PR4 coX.) Eg. IN(co.Z) vs. PR(co.X), this would be rolled in the Shift Z column as ShZ vs FE2. Another example: TY6 (Co. Z) vs PR4 (Co. X), this would end up being rolled as TY vs FE, since the poor rank cant go any lower, and the Typical rank is higher and can't be raised, even though there would normally be another -1 column shift modifer on the lower column base. you can not break into the class 1000-beyond categories via this method, ShZ(column Z) does not equal the same thing as Class 1000. The break on the universal table stands and ignores all column bases because of it's normal supernatural origins (being associated with deitys and the like.)
