Beneath all the layers of complexities we add (and subsequently limit and expand our 'horizons' with) the human condition's state of existence can be described as acting and reacting.Waving to someone in greeting. Blowing your nose. Making a case for free speech. Brushing your teeth. Downloading that song that's been stuck in your head. Reading that book you keep inadvertantly hearing about. Yelling at someone who killed your sister. Wincing when you hit your thumb with the hammer. Lying in bed, pondering that engrossing, seemingly profound movie you saw. Pitying the kittens of that dead cat on the side of the road. Intercourse, sexual and otherwise. These are all examples of reacting. One of the heaviest-handed elements of our existence is our perception, flawed and falliable as it is. As so many like to observe, it is what makes us human. Our perception is a direct result of stimuli, be it physical or mental. We are made aware > We perceive > We react As we stumble through all of this awareness, perception and reaction, we do so within three physical dimensions, and our physical senses are by far the greatest source of our perception.
This is why I hate humanity - because I am bound by the same inherent limitations as the thieves and brigands that I share a species with. It is not that I want to be unique; no, I simply want to be someone I can respect completely. Being a human being, that will never happen.
Such is the winter of my discontent, and I am very discontent within such boundaries. If you are not, then I envy you. But only a little.
I make what I consider to be valid efforts, not to understand the human condition, but to imagine going beyond it, if not actually doing so.
As a dear friend pointed out to me, it is this effort that makes me better than the rest of you - that eases my mind a goodly bit.
I do honestly feel sorry for alot of you. I place alot of faith in YHWH, and I do not think I would still be living if I did not. Not that I am saying He would strike me down, but that I would have struck myself down. If humanity was indeed the best this universe of ours had to offer, I would shitcan it in a heartbeat. It is through my belief in something better than all of this crap that I continue existing.
Why do I 'believe'? The answer is simple. If you take away all references to the supernatural and the establishment of the Jewish people, the Bible we have is naught but a guide to being as happy as possible on this dirtball. It tells us to love ourselves and to love other people. If everyone made an effort to love themselves and everyone else, the world would be positively skippy. Once I realized how simple and effective these rules for life are, I began to ponder. If the Bible has such truths on our physical life, perhaps it also has the truth concerning YHWH and the supernatural. Through extended study and research, I have become more and more faithful in what the Bible has to say, and that is why I believe.
I pass the time by listening to Black Metal, reading fiction, pondering philosophy, assaulting my guitars, prodding my keyboard, drinking Mountain Dew and Iced Latte, coding websites and listening to the woes of acquaintences.META/ENTERPRISES is back online
