As I sat one day and looked at my self
I wondered sadly where time had gone
I thought of our rare special moments
I realized that I had been all wrong
I wept behind the large silvery screen
I tried to remember what you saw in me
I realized that I had been all very wrong
Now I saw the depressing truth within me
I didn't realy seem to want to understand
That you were one of my rare and only friends
When I finaly opened my tear stained eyes
I saw that you were nearly almost gone
I carried my tortured soul back to the light
Hoping to save the one who was to take flight
But in my hurry I stumbled into the darkest pit
Of murky waters, sad encounters and glooming fright
I could not build the bridge that was needed
To prevent the one leaving who was so much needed
So I stood under the light of the starlit sky
I held my life within the balance of the tide
Then one cold and windy day I saw the truth
That day came silently when I spoke to you
For you gave me what I desperately needed most
A friend who stood by and never turned into a ghost
Now I tell you this my one time only friend
Until my life comes to a cold and bitter end
You will be the one of the rare to see me smile
When I see you after the one hundredth million mile
Now I must say this one last thing to you my friend
You have made my life complete in so many ways
But as all things that are good and fair will end
I know you will soon be going on your way
For this I will miss you.....My Friend.
