This week I'll be reviewing a recent play. Dungeon Keeper 2. This is an interesting submission by Bullfrog and is in the real time strategy genre. It is a welcome change. Instead of the standard fare, your welcomed to a bit of a difference. You are the evil dungeon overlord who builds the dungeon to kill the heroes. But unlike most RTS you do not control your creatures. You build certain aspects of the dungeons to attract certain types of creatures, and you can throw them somewhere, but you can't, and trust me on this, CANNOT make them do what they don't want to do. They have minds of their own. And go about their daily business just like everyone else. The level design is good stuff. They gradually increase in difficulty, well except one level is REDICULOUSLY hard the first few times you try it, but it scales good. And each level has different objectives and layout and available resources. It is standard stuff without getting boring. If your into micro management it has alot to look forward to, but if your just into straight up make army, kill enemy, it isn't too difficult to pull it off with little or no micromanagement. Many styles of players are catered to in this one. The graphics are good for when the game was released. And the sound is excellent. Especially the narrators. Some of his comments are perfectly appropriate and very amusing. Without repeating himself every 5 seconds and becomming common fare. I can't really think of any BAD qualities to this game, aside from the one levels (and you'll know which one I mean when you play) huge spike in difficulty, it is a well put together game, and I highly reccommend it. I give it 4 stars.
