Mentor
By: Alicia.
You taught me how to live my life,
You showed me what was wrong and right,
You told me why and when and how,
You brought me up when I was down,
You showed me why I wasn’t that,
You held me close when I was sad,
You brought me love no other would,
You pushed me out into the world,
You taught me how my soul should fly,
You said You wouldn’t ever die,
But I guess for once you lied.
Open.
By: AL.
Pale moon with starlight gaze,
Free me from these blinding chains,
Open eyes and ears to haste,
Showing me these heaven gates,
Open hearts to wills of craft,
Let them learn their ways of past,
Open souls to endless dreams,
Leaving them in silent streams,
Open lives and let them free,
Wallowing in self-esteem.
Spirit of The Cat.

The night before,
I sat alone,
Curled on my couch,
Depressed, I was,
For no one cared,
They left me there,
They left me bare.
Before I closed my eyes to cry,
A voice caught me by surprise,
I looked and seeked,
And there she was,
The kitten looking from above,
On the arm,
She sat and stared at me with cute lil' eyes.
Scared I was,
Confused as well, for she said
"What is wrong, my human friend?"
I then wondered what this was,
But answer just as strongly.
"Alone and despised I am,
For I'm not normal..
I'm not them." I said so very coldly.
She answered then,
"Being different ain't half bad.
It shows your strength,
It makes you bold."
The kitten purred,
And went on to say,
"Today was just a day,
Let it fade away.
Fortune passes,
Then it comes,
Don't let it get away."
I smiled as the words brought warmth,
"You are right,
feline spirit,
being different aint that bad,
in fact I think I'm rather glad.
To be alone,
I will stay.
I want it more then good grades."
She flicked her tail,
And with a grin,
"Only goodness comes within,
being normal and one of them,
is wrong,
and lost within."
"Thank you spirit,
You brought me hope.
I'm sure again,
and will not grope
on memories,
and passing dreams,
but stay content,
and be myself,
to keep me well within."
Then I woke,
In my spot,
To see that cat,
Yet only did a meow,
Escape the breath she held.
So then I said,
"To this guiding spirit,
You saved my life,
And brought me hope,
I wish you well and in the end,
Protect me from myself,
And the hell that I live in."
