The Rules of Engaging War

War is when one or more groups declares openly, initiated violence upon another group or groups. It is when both sides have come to no other course, negotiations and diplomacy have failed. It is also very dangerous and destructive. HADES war is all this, and much more.

The Declaration- Before two sides can battle out their aggressions, a declaration of war must be sent to the War Administrator and the forum Presidents. This declaration must be sent by the GC of a guild or the Elder of a clan. It must state a reason for the war, as well as why diplomacy would no longer help in the situation. It also must be accompanied by the guild's current roster, with alliances stated upon it.

Reasons: Valid reasons will be dealt with on a case to case situation. "Because I want to" is not a valid reason, but many reasons will be accepted due to the fact that in real life, you can not stop nations or groups from going to war.

Defiance Law: A guild may still go to war if the forum frowns upon it's actions, however the forum will then tax the guild 1000 gps per week and not make any payments on rosters until a cease fire has been announced.

During a war there is two ways to kill another side's members. First is through Death Matches, which are agreed upon by both members, or both parties. MDM's or Mass Death Matches, are basically battles. The second way to kill someone is through assasHADESations. Registered assasHADESs in warfare may eliminate members with no contract. In place of the contract number the assasHADES should state HADES War AA. Rezzes are limited to two during the war. This simplifies the problem of having to kill someone over 6 times. Once the war rezzes are used, the member is dead in their guild, the war, and the forum.

Winning the war- To win a war, either your enemy must sign a surrender or you must eliminate all their members. During the war so the forum may know what is going on, each guild must send rosters twice a week to the War Administrator and Presidents. In this roster, dead members should be shown, as well as POWs. POWs are the result of the POW Match, which in effect is a war Slave Match. POWs, shall not be ordered to fight their own side, and have certain rights. The War Administrator along with the Grand Judge of the forum will oversee the treatment of prisoners, if their rights are violated forum action will take place. In a war POWs may be released through a RM or when the war ends. POWs may not do their own RMs and must accept their status, as well as show it in their profile. POWs may not fight while imprisoned or help their side in anyway.

Alliances and OoF(out of forum) wars-Alliances between guilds during war should be held strong. If an alliance treaty specifically states the allies MUST support then the allies of the warring guild will be brought into the war automatically. If there is no specific statement on the support of one another, then such guild may choose on it's own to join the war or not.

If war is declared on a guild out of the HADES forum, both forums must then get together and work out the terms. No actions shall be made by either side until you are notified of the agreement. If your guild has out of forum alliances, then the guild's GC must agree to the HADES format of war before entering the war.

Havens-During times of war each guild is given one free haven. No warfare may be waged in havens. Known havens already listed by the forum and matches already taking place results in nullified results of AA's and other aggression.

Life Scrolls(profiles)-Somewhere in each war participants life scroll or extended life scroll must have their current position in the war stated as well as kills and POWs owned.

    Ex1:
    War Status: Active
    Guild: Blah
    Kills: 2
    POWs: None

    Ex2:
    War Status: POW
    Guild: Blah
    Kills: 8
    POWs: None

Registration and Freelancers- If you are involved in a war, you may not obtain any new registrations. Any such registrations sent in after the formal declaration of war will be held in stasis until the date the war ends. Enhancers on the other hand may be bought durring war time. Like in real wars, both sides will most likely want new and improved weapons.

Freelancers may contact the War Administrator about joining either side of a war. Once they do so in their profile they must put all the information in. They must also state which guild they are helping in the war.
