Moders Vs. Newbies

So let's say that you are recruiting in a tavern(just using a general example), and a person comes in and starts "Role-Playing". You refuse to give them an application and they get made and blow up your tavern without even rolling dice(even with rolling dice its idiotic). Now this guy leaves laughing, thinking that he totoally decimated your tavern, so you think...moder? Maybe..maybe not, 70% of the time its a newbie. Here's a few tips on how to handle and distinguish newbies and/from moders:

    1) This is not true 100% of the time but, most newbies like using light colors(yellow, orange, light blue...sorry if you have this font...) with bold weighted fonts and sometimes hard to read text font (ie:PosterBodoni)

    2) Don't automatically assume that if someone just writes a simple [ ::walks in:: ] is a newbie. You have to admit, people get lazy or uninterested after a while.

    3) Look at their profiles. It tells a lot.

    4) Those who don't accept ANY AA's, KA's, FC's...etc...whatsoever even if they are in a forum are DEFINATELY moders. They might be newbies, but forum rules(most of the time) is that if a person is registered under it they must accept the attempts.

    5) People with d90+ dice that have a nice round number for xps (ie: 4d90/100,000xps), beware of them. Statistics show that it IS possible to reach the EXACT number of xps needed to pass an audit but its one of those extremely rare thing. If you are going to combat with this person, ask them to present audit(as you should for anyone who has 4d90+), they shouldn't be afraid or mad at you for asking if they have nothing to hide.

    6) If the person states and OOC action while in the middle of Role-Play(ie- ::walks in::brb)...guess what...newbie.

    7) Now if you happen to come across a newbie do not ignore them or give them hell, though it might be extremely tempting. We were all newbies once and learned eventually from someone how to really RP. So if you have the patience please tell them their faults, if they won't listen...THEN give them hell.

    8) Remember always that a newbie might turn out to be a moder in the future. And we definately do not need more of those. Its always wise to share some of your RP experience and knowledge.
