OVERVIEW: Head to the warship with the Sun Flame. Save Cid and Hilda and venture deep within the warship to plant the flame in the engine. The warship is destroyed and you're transported back to Altea.

I. Finding the Warship

-The warship is in one of the most remote areas in the entire world. Before leaving make sure that everyone (except Gordon) has a cure spell and a heal spell. You may also wish to raise each of your character's MP to 50, it will help. You cannot use exit in the warship and even if you could the walk back is LONG and the enemies are hard, so make sure that you're prepared.
-Finding the warship is quite a difficult task. Make sure that you take a chocobo instead of walking, this will save you a lot of time and hastle. You won't have to fight random battles and it's a lot faster. You'll need the strength for the warship. There are a couple of different ways to get to the warship but taking the route south of Kashuon is a lot easier since you can go straight from the chocobo forest south to the warship, simply follow my map. (You can go northwest of Phin or southwest and then north from Altea if you're feeling either adventurous or just plain stupid.)

-The warship is a fairly hard dungeon. The enemies will be harder than they have been before and it is fairly long. Another thing is the warship is that the warship isn't easy to exit. First of all, the exit spell doesn't work. Second, the warship is out in the middle of nowhere and the no-chocobo walk back is LONG. But, you won't have to exit manually or have to walk back to a town so don't worry too much. This first guy asks for your pass, show him the pass you got in Bofsk Sewers.
-Make sure that you DO NOT say wild rose to the person asking for the pass, he'll attack you. Also, don't talk to any of the soldiers on the ship. Doing so will plot you against a captain that is more than a match for you at this point in the game.
-There are a lot of different places that you can go on the first floor. Start by making a quick trip down to the 1st basement by going down these stairs in the middle.
-There is one treasure chest on this floor that seems to be unaccessable. You can pick it up by walking through the wall directly east of where I am standing.
-The chest contains a sleep sword but it's guarded by a combination of mages, sargeants, and soldiers. Take out the mages first, they have low HP and cast annoying spells. The fight shouldn't be that difficult. The sleep sword has higher attack power than any sword so far in the game, give it to Frioniel. It also has a chance to put enemies to sleep.
III. Save the Princess

-Now head back up to floor 1. This time take the stairs that head north. You'll see a bunch of doors, ignore them all. (All empty rooms.) Make sure that you head west first and pick up this treasure with 400 Gil, then head east.
-When you reach this point head down these stairs instead of continuing south. Head into the door, it leads to some stairs that take you down to basement one once again.
-Head down the path until you reach this intersection. Head to the right if you want two potion treasures, because that's all that's down there.
-Take the westernmost path at the 3-way intersection and you'll reach this treasure with a blind bow. Equip it on Maria, it's the best bow at this point in the game. Now head back and take the middle path at the intersection.
-Pick up the thief gauntlets and equip them on someone right away, they are much better than mithril gauntlets. Then head over to this cell, Cid and Hilda are being held inside. Head over to the bars, press A, and you'll be able to crack the bars with your bare hands!!! You'll have to do it twice to reach Cid and Hilda.
-Cid tells you that he's going to escape with the Princess. Now that they're safe it's time to head deep into the warship towards the engine. Head back to floor 1 once again.
IV. Warship- F1 to Basement 1

-Back on floor 1 head back onto the path by going back up the stairs. This time continue south along the path. The path is straight forward and will lead you to these stairs back down to basement 1.
-This floor is very self explanatory. It's shaped like a U, just head around and go into the room that leads to the stairs down to the next floor.
V. Warship- Basement 2

-The 2nd basement has some great treasure on it. Head around the floor, skipping the stairs up for now, over to the treasure.
-The two treasures on the left contain a trident and a gouche dagger, sell both of these. Then get the easternmost treasure that contains a giant helm, equip it right away. Approach the remaining treasure with caution. Make sure that you save your game if you're playing on an emulator. Also, make sure that you fully heal your team's HP, and that you have at least level 3 black magic.
-If your team is in pretty good shape then get the treasure which has an ice shield, but you'll be thrown into a tough battle. This is not an essential by any means, if your party isn't in great shape or your stats or magic aren't that great then simply pass the treasure up, you can buy ice shields later in the game but they are pretty good. As far as the fight goes, the Gigas is TOUGH. He has 750 HP and you can only dent that with level 3-4 magic or high level weapons. If you don't have either don't bother. Make sure that you take out the weaker enemies first.
-If you do get the ice shield then equip it right away. Regardless, head back to the stairs that will take you back up to basement 1.
-You go back up to basement 1 and head right back down to basement 2 in a different location. This leads you to your final destination, the engine.
VI. The Final Stretch

-This last stretch of the warship is simply a maze. Many of the paths are blocked by soldiers that you'll have to weave around to get to the engine. At the very beginning head up and around the top to the left to come back around on this side, then head south to the bottom of the floor.
-Head east on the bottom of the floor until you reach this hallway where you can start to head north once again.
-The last little bit is pretty self explanatory. Simply head around all the soldiers and you'll end up here heading down to the engine.
-You've finally made it!!! Use the sun flame on the engine to cause the warship to start to self-destruct.
-You also get a quick visit from your old friend the Dark Knight. He simply tells you that it's not over yet and leaves. The team does the same fleeing the warship and just in time.
-Just as you leave the warship it explodes into pieces! (Gotta love the 8 bit graphics.) Frioniel and the gang luckily escape to Cid's airship and fly away safely. You are dropped off again back in Altea to regroup.
