Welcome to the Temple of Fiends, the longest and hardest dungeon in the game. Hopefully you've come prepared. Remember, once you're in here you cannot save your game again and you cannot leave except with EXIT and WARP. The enemies here are fairly hard, but you fight so many of them by the time you make it to the end that you start to run out of things to heal yourself with, the heal staff can come in VERY handy, as can 99 HEAL potions. |
Alright, on to the dungeon. On the very first floor head down and then to the right. These are the stairs to the next level in the southeast corner. |
I think you can figure this one out... |
Head down and to the right into the big room in the center of this floor. Doing so will plot you against a phantom. The phantom is very strong and can deal some heavy damage. But, he has very low HP, so try to kill him off quickly. (He gives you a mighty 1EXP and 1G!) Don't bother with the treasure, it contains 45000G and 65000G, but you have no use for it. |
Now look up at that stone thing. It seems that this is another "evil plate". So use the ROD, right? Well the ROD doesn't do anything, so how do you get past here? |
Remember the LUTE that Princess Sara gave you at the very, very beginning of the game? Well, it's time to use it. Using it plays a tune that reveals a stairway to the next floor, take it. |
This floor is a little bigger than the previous few, but it's still not that hard. Head down until you reach an intersection, at that intersection head left. |
From that path to the left head up, you'll eventually reach these stairs to the next level. |
On this floor all you have to do is simply head to the left. This is the final floor before the element floors. After this, the next 4 floors will have elemental themes to them. First earth, then fire, then water, then wind. Head down the stairs on the left to go to the earth floor. |
This floor is crawling with earth enemies. They're not that hard though, make use of the heal staff and or helmet to restore some HP. On this floor simply head around the buildings, first up then to the right (at the intersection continue right don't go down), then down. |
Keep heading down and you'll come to these stairs. Be ready to fight, there's a nasty little suprise waiting for you before you get to the stairs. |
Lich, FIEND of the earth is waiting for you and you have to fight him. (You'll have to fight the other FIENDS too.) He has more HP and has learned some new tricks (XXXX and NUKE as well as others). Use your strongest non-nuke spells. (You'll want to save NUKE for the final boss but don't save any other attacking magic.) Also, attack him and pray that he doesn't use NUKE, it can take away alot. |
After defeating Lich, head down the stairs, also make sure that you don't head back to the space that you fought him or you'll have to fight him again. This next floor is the fire floor. You'll have to fight many fire enemies including red dragons among others. |
Head to the left and head into this room. Head up and to the right and come out on the other side. |
You'll come to this point. You can head up to the stairs and fight Kary, or you can head down and get some treasure. If you do get the treasure only bother with a few. |
Head down and then right into this room and grab the procape. This is the ONLY treasure worth getting on this floor. The path to the right of the procape simply takes you to a treasure with 26000G, don't even bother, it's not nearly worth it. Plus, you don't even need the money. Don't bother with the left room it has a proring and a katana. Although the katana is good, you already have one and don't need another. Plus, the path to get to it is LONG. |
When you're done with that head back to the stairs. You'll be plotted against Kary, FIEND of fire. Kary is not that hard, not nearly as hard as Lich. Don't bother casting magic, just attack with your knights, masters, and ninjas to knock Kary out. Then, take the stairs to move on to the water floor. |
-Only the water and wind floors to go before you face the final foe. |
