A History of Storm's Titles | |
|---|---|
Title Held | The Skinny |
![]() NxWO Tag Team Championships(W/ Davey Bowie) | Storm's first tag team titles, and it was a spectacular reign. Davey Bowie and Storm took down any and every team the NxWO created to throw at them, including the team they beat for the belts, The Hardy Boyz, on several occasions. Who ended the reign? Storm himself. That's right...Jonathan. He turned on him and started the Four Horsemen 2000. The Hardy Boyz beat them, started the "H2K" with Storm and that's just fine by him.
![]() MWA World Tag Team Championship(W/ Kyle Pallas aka The Top Draws) | Storm's second tag team, and the most effective one yet. The Top Draws (Jonathan Storm and Kyle Pallas) were unbeatable. Members of The IN Crowd, They stopped team, after team, after team. Jealousy and envy blew them apart, and Storm was allowed to keep the titles, naming Cliche Jones as a partner. Soon after he made that decision, they were stripped of the titles. It also ignited one of the longest running feuds of Storm's career, involving himself and Pallas.
![]() EWA World Tag Team Championship(w/ Ray Willmott aka L.D. 50) | In a match nobody expected Jonathan and partner Ray Willmott to win, they certainly turned in the most shocking of all of Jonathan's title victories. In their first match as a tag team in the EWA, the two friends managed to go through Johnny Blaze and Chris Kage, along with the Tag Team Champs themselves (and fellow Triple Threat stablemates), The Golden One and Sean Boden. Shortly after, the team dubbed themselves L.D. 50, and went on to establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with. The team, and friendship seemed strong, until Willmott turned on Storm, and formed the Sex Type Things with Jimmy Walker.
![]() NYSWF World Tag Team Championships(w/ Shawn Hunter AKA Pop Perfection | Would you believe it? A little over a year after Shawn Hunter and Jonathan Storm formed Pop Perfection, one of the most popular Tag Teams in NYSWF history, despite the rocky roads they took to get their, finally lived out their dream and won the NYSWF Tag Team Titles. After beating Reckless Abandon (former champs) in the first round of the tournament, they went through The Dimestore Prophets and The Fucking Fuckers to win their first reign. This also solidified Jon's place in history, as he won an NYSWF Triple Crown and Grand Slam with this victory. Only a sabbatical by Storm could slow them down, as their reign ended when he took a leave of absence.
![]() NWW World Tag Team Championship(W/ Chris Kanyon) |
Jonathan found himself with an unlikely partner this time around. Chris Kanyon, although once being his mentor, found himself feeling Jonathan's wrath as of late, Jon severing his ties to 'The Innovator of Offense'. With the two of them disagreeing constantly, the two showed fluid teamwork against Absolute Power, Jack Daniels and Evan Douglas. Despite the animosity, the two walked away victors, making Jonathan a double champion. The two of them held the titles until the NWW's abrupt closure. |
![]() NxWO United States Championship | Storm's first singles title, and it took him short time into defending it. Winning the vacant title from Vulture, this was Storm's first singles title in the NxWO. He wasted no time in defending it, turning away every challenge. In the end, it was his brother Robbie who took it from him, using a chapter from hisOn this night, nobody would stop "The Impact", as he finally won the one thing that had eluded him since joining the NYSWF. The match originally scheduled was Jonathan Storm and his brother NOTHING, against J.C. Sullivan of The Dimestore Prophets and Julian Dreamwalker. However, Dreamwalker and Sullivan had already attacked his brother, leaving him alone to face them. However, Jon came down and ignored them for another day, focusing on the ringleader of the attack, the leader of the new HATE, Jakob West. With an unexpected assist from his brother, Jon won the belt...only younger brother's book, pinning him with The Eye of The Storm. To this day, however, Storm is recognized as the longest reigning NxWO US Champion.
![]() NYSWF Lightweight Championship | This is where Storm sets history. His first reign was marred as Storm was "given" the belt by Robert Orr. Storm used the belt to mock opponents, and was finally stripped of it by Julian Dreamwalker (with a little help from NOTHING). Storm then bided his time, and in May of 2001, struck revenge when he and Julian faced for the then vacant belt. Little did anyone realize that when Storm defeated Dreamwalker that night, he would embark on a record-breaking 114 day title reign, the second longest in NYSWF history for any title, but the longest reign as a Lightweight Champion. He also joined elite company by becoming one of only three men to hold the Lightweight Title twice (along with the aformentioned NOTHING, Sean Sanders, and himself). It finally took Virus/Derian Jayde to end Storm's reign, Virus too joining the Two-Time LW Champ club.
![]() EWA Lightweight Championship | Storm added another page of history to his resume, by winning this title. Not many men can claim to have been NYSWF and EWA Lightweight Champions, but Storm managed to do it at the same time. For six days, Storm held that belt, defeating Johnny The Homicidal Maniac. He vacated the title though, due to contractual disputes.
![]() HWF Canadian Championship | In Jonathan's HWF quest to elimate Lance Sterling, Storm managed to pick up a small gift along the way. The HWF Canadian Title. Taking it away from Mayhem (his first ever HWF opponent a few months back), Renegade, and a rival in David Zakin, Storm held this belt until Sterling screwed him (and some help from The Lost Soul as well), giving the belt to Kyle Corman.
![]() MWA Hardcore Title | In almost a career "lowlight", Storm won this title by defeating Syndicate (albeit with help from MWA President Michael Fish, choosing Storm as the lesser of two evils.). Storm went on to lose the belt in an untelevised match between he and Cyrus Vaughn. Depending on who you ask, it's always a different story.
![]() CWF Mexican/Hardcore Title | Storm's second tour of duty in the CWF began with him facing Christian Cruz, a close friend, for this title. He made a bold statement to his dedication to victory by walking out of a tag match where the two were partners shortly before that match. The two went hard at it, as neither Storm nor Cruz showed any mercy. Finally, one Last Resort later, Storm became CWF Mexican Champion. The belt was planted firmly around his waist until Badoona took it from him at CWF Nightmares in a triple threat match involving Storm, Badoona, and Chris Cruz...but Storm was not the one pinned. Because Storm had his sights focused on regaining his CWF World Title, he left in the middle of that match.
![]() NYSWF North Atlantic Title | When Jonathan returned to the NYSWF, he focused on former protege, Axel Majors. Axel had made it clear that Jonathan's ex-wife, Ashlee had taken up camp with him, and Axel stopped at nothing to get under Jon's skin. Finally, it boiled down to the NYSWF's Big Japan Classic 2002. In a submissions match, the well-trained Majors attempted to outwrestle Storm, but in the end, Storm came through, and used The Big Fuck You to secure another win...and another title. The reign was short lived, as the following week, Rick Tyger pulled out the upset against Storm.
![]() NYSWF World Television Title | This must easily have been one of the most emotionally bittersweet victories in Jonathan's career. After issuing a challenge to the winner of the John Iley/NOTHING match the week prior, Storm watched as his brother NOTHING retained the belt. Immediately after the match, the challenge was accepted and was challenged to put the most sacred thing of his on the line...his family name. If Storm was to lose, he'd no longer have a family. Storm accepted the challenge in true fashion, and shortly after, the tragedy in New York struck. With family in the city, Storm realized how much needed them. After cutting a heart-wrenching, emotional promo, Storm came to the arena that night, and shocked the world by retaining his family name, winning the title. The price of victory came with a cost, as he was brutalized by The New Reality afterwards...not to mention this has probably severed any chance of reconciliation between he and his brother. Jonathan managed to hold this title until another member of his family tree, Alexander Haven, wrested it from him with some help from NOTHING.
![]() HWF North American Title |
Storm went into this match as the only man without a title...and he had his mind focused on not walking out the same way. Realizing he had two people in the ring that have had his number in the past (Inferna and Chris Davison), Storm went the extra mile, and at the last moment, pulled out the victory, taking the North American Title from Inferna. He held the title an impromptu match between Night Stalker occured...and Shawn Collins interfered |
![]() CWF/UWA/BJBWF Triad Champion | Storm entered the BJBWF, and ripped through competition. Storm dominated the CWF, capturing the World Title twice. He ran the UWA. They just gave the title to him, in return for the dedication to the Triad. In the belt's two defenses, Storm walked away victorious both times. However, the Triad folded, and Storm vacated the title.
![]() HWF King of Violence 2001 | Storm was begrudgingly placed in this tournament by HWF President Shawn Collins, and Storm made doubters eat their words. Storm managed to eliminate everyone in his first round match (Jimmy Jett, Raine, Tyler Falcone), pinned Cross in the second round, and defeated his best friend and stablemate Phoenix in the final round to become the 2001 HWF King of Violence. |
![]() NxWO World Heavyweight Championship | Storm had long been considered leader of the 4 Horsemen 2000, which had suddenly been morphed into The New Blood, but one thing had eluded him all this time...the NxWO World Title. Storm couldn't challenge stablemate Triple H to a match, but when HHH lost it to ShadowHawk, things changed very quickly. Storm focused his sights on him, and in controversial fashion, defeated him (not without help from New Blood members Triple H and Christian Cruz). ShadowHawk didn't waste time in regaining his title, but Storm didn't either, becoming the second two-time NxWO World Champ, using more shady tactics. Storm recruited ShadowHawk's ally and partner, Raven, to turn on him, and help him regain the title, and solidify Storm's New Blood stable. Storm even managed to deny ShadowHawk a third reign, and defended it until he lost it in a match which shook the foundation of the NxWO, a fatal four-way involving Storm, HBK, Killer Kactus, and El Boricua. This was Storm's official last match in the NxWO, and it was rumoured that he was asked to take a dive.
![]() CWF World Heavyweight Championship | If any belt represents Jonathan, this is truly that belt. Storm breezed through the World Title tournament, defeating Big Killa, Stevie Suicide, and Bryce Phillips to win the new belt. After a blood feud with Suicide ended, Storm was turned on by Renegades stablemate Stephen Dorsai, and Storm lost, not to mention took a leave of absence from the CWF. Storm came back with a vengence, and noticed The Black Circle running the promotion. With Storm being noted as the CWF's "Franchise", he sprung to action and went toe to toe against Thanatos, finally defeating Thanny in a Stairway to Hell match. The reign was short-lived, as the CWF shut down shortly afterward.
![]() UWF World Heavyweight Championship | When good friend Shawn Ryder asked Jonathan Storm to join his fledgling UWF, Jonathan didn't waste much time in responding. Soon after, Jon recruited the aPa to help him get the World Title shot he wanted. In the tournament finals, after a little help from Ryder, Storm became the first and only UWF World Champ.
![]() HWF World Heavyweight Championship | Jonathan's biggest adversary was defeated this night...himself. Jonathan's dark and twisted obsession with defeating the former champ Tempest was creeping all around his brain, and it culminated in this matchup. Storm went through four cages, and a mental battle, but won his first ever HWF World Title at Indecent Exposure 2001. The reign managed to go through lots of trials and suffering (the return of Jon's brother Robbie, personal issues, and a near quitting of the HWF for Jonathan), and he managed to turn down challenger after challenger, finally coughing the belt up to longtime rival Chris Davison in a four corners match involving them, Joshua Trey, and Shawn Collins
![]() APW Universal Heavyweight Championship | There's not much to tell about Jonathan winning this title. The shot came out of left field, and main evented APW's Scar Wars PPV. Storm shocked people, and in his second match ever with the promotion, turned in a victory over Will "The Thrill" Haynes, and proved once more why Nobody Does It Better...Except For Him. Storm held the title until the APW's closing, and was the last Universal Champ.
![]() NYSWF World Heavyweight Championship | On this night, nobody would stop "The Impact", as he finally won the one thing that had eluded him since joining the NYSWF. With an unexpected assist from his brother, Jon won the belt...only to lose it the next night back to Jakob.
![]() NWW International Title |
The only way to describe this win is amazing. Jonathan braved through a round robin qualifying round, and drew Jack Daniels in one round. In what seemed to be the most stunning upset of his career, and current NWW history, Jonathan Storm defeated Daniels. The follow-up was a win over Ramon Marteen, and he headed to the NWW - Impact pay per view to face the one man that had defeated him so far in the NWW, Jack Reed. Despite fighting a brutal match with Chip Masters earlier in the night, Jonathan Storm turned the tide and won in his trademark Final Impact match via The Faded Halo. After victory, Storm turned away every challenger he faced, including Chris Kanyon, before the promotion shut down, Storm being the first and only International Champion. |
