Cyber Gear is very helpful. It can increase the current stats of your character and higher his hit/evade %. However along with this helpfulness comes a hefty expense. Their are also rules to installing Cyber Gear, all of which are listed below and must be followed.

1: When having Cyber Gear installed into ones body a GM must be present to supervise the operation.

2: A Bio-Engineer is the only person able to install Cyber Gear. He names the price. which can be bargained on, and performs the complex and dangerous operation

3: You cannot have more than 1 of the same kind of cyber tech. device installed in your body, unless stated otherwise. Look just beside the Price of the Cyber Gear you want to buy and you will find out if you can install 2 of them in your body.

4: To begin with the patient must be put asleep during this teadious operation. The Bio-Engineer rolls a DEX check to make sure he cuts into the patients skin and removes it perfectly. Next the Physician prepares the spot of the patients body which will have the gear installed. After this he carefully installs the cyber gear. He must make a INT and TECH check to make sure he connects everything correctly. Next the patient is awoken and must make a CON roll to see if his body rejects or accepts the foriegn object.

5: If the CON roll succeeds then the body accepts the cyber gear, if the roll fails then it is rejected and you take bodily harm. First you must roll a d2. A 1 means you take damage, a 2 means your nerves and muscles around the gear is damaged. a roll of 2 means you loose 1 stat point pertaining to wear the gear was implanted. Example: You had cyber gear implanted into your arm which was rejected, you would take -1 STR permanantly, If you had a head piece mplanted in your skull that was rejected you would take - 1 MIND. On a roll of 1 you would just take d4 permanant HP dmg.

So see installing cyber gear is quite dangerous, you must be willing to take a big risk of failure during this operation.

Be wary though if the gear is rejected you can always have it fixed, allowing you get your HP or Stat points back, But this operation costs big money. See Bio-Engineer page for more detail on this.
