PRONUNCIATION

( Lie-lar-is )

FIRST CONTACT

When the Humans first stumbled upon the Lylaris while exploring their home planet of Hegia, they took them as barbaric savages. This was hardly the case. Though the Lylaris were startled and surprised by the arrival of another species, they showed no harm to the Humans. At first the Humans couldnt understand the Lylaris's ancient language, but after bringing a speech recorder and translator from their ship, they began to see the Lylaris meant no harm. From that point on the Humans called the Lylaris the Gentle Giants and began to try and introduce new technology into the Lylaris's everyday lives. The Lylaris of course have never learneed how to use most gadgets the Humans offered them.

Today the Lylaris are usually travelling companions of Humans and other races which the Humans introduced them to.

HISTORY

The Lylaris's culture is not highly technological. They prefer the use of simple and somewhat primative weapons such as axes, pole arms, long bows, and if it can be found flint lock rifles and pistols. They have not developed any star farring technology nor any means of transportation...puting them even further behind technology wise. When hunting and with anything else the Lylaris use teamwork. The Lylaris are well known for making excellent houses out of wood and stone, although not as advanced as Humans homes they are sturdy.

Lylaris which live in woodlands or plains typically have brown or black shaded hair. Those that live in colder climates such as the arctic typically have grey or white shaded hair.

DISCRIPTION

The Lylaris stand anywhere from 7 to 10 feet tall and can weigh anywhere from 200 to 350 lbs. Their bodies are covered in thick and long hair, especially their backs and legs. Muscles buldge from their arms, legs, and chest revealing their raw pysical strength. Their mouths house sharp teeth shaped like triagles and serated for tearing power. Out of their mouths jut tusk which can grow to be up to a foot in length. These tusks are actually extensions of the Lylaris's jaw bones. The Lylaris jaw is quite wide allowing them to eat more at a time. Their palms, the bottom of their feet, and exposed muscles feel like rough leather to the touch. The bottom of their feet is so touch they can walk on broken glass and not be cut or feel pain.

They look barbaric, but hardly ever do they attack without a good cause, in fact most Lylaris attacks are made in self defense. That isnt to say their arent some Lylaris that wont kill on sight or act vulgur and barbaric.
