Sogwipo's Trade Skills Made Easy Guide 1
to 100 The Quick Easy Way, v2.1 In revision 2, I have fixed many of the problems that I had encountered in my first guide. I have also added recipes in this edition for the ease of the readers. First, I would like to touch upon my statement about use of practice points. As you get higher levels, you’ll get more practice points than you know what to do with. Off the bat, you can get to skill 21 for whatever skill you choose. Although, some skills are very easy to advance at lower levels, so you might not even want to bother with using the points. jewelry, tailoring, and blacksmithing definitely need all 21 practice points due to the expense and time required in doing so

Notes:
Unfortunately for non-foragers it is much
easier to use foraged fruits and vegetables to advance skill in brewing.
Personally, I have sold stacks of foraged items for 5-10pp, it will
be worth it for you to purchase them from Rangers and Druids.
The most helpful piece of information that I have found in the brewing and
baking skill advancement is that fish and batwings can be bought in
Freeport. Batwings are sold at the second floor of the casters guild in West
Freeport. Fish can be bought at the
port authority in East Freeport.

platinum and malachite (this is trivial at 218, but only one skill can surpass 200) |
Notes:
To be a successful
jeweler you must be frugal (read CHEAP). I
have read in many places that it is cheaper to switch to the next metal
when certain gems become trivial. Now,
on face value that seems true, but I have found this to be more expensive. For example, at charisma 115 in Thurgadin, I can make an electrum
peridot bracelet for 13.125pp which is trivial at 114.
I can make gold malachite items for 10.552pp which is trivial 146.
Now this seems cheaper, but you are going to sell it back, and you
will have more success on the electrum. When
working at this level, I had failed 1-2 times every 10 attempts with
electrum, and 4-5 out of 10 tries with gold.
Do not use loot only gems (i.e. black pearls, sapphires) to advance
skill, save those for when you want to make nice jewelry.

Pottery

Recipe |
|
1-23 |
Medium Jars = a block of clay + medium jar sketch + water flask |
|
24-36 |
Ceramic Linings = a small block of clay + ceramic lining sketch + water flask |
|
37-122 |
Medium Bowls = block of clay + medium bowl sketch + water flask |
|
123-148 |
Poison Vials = small block of clay + vial sketch + water flask + animal skin*, fired with HQ firing sheet |
|
149-168 |
Lined Vials = small block of clay + lined vial sketch + water flask + animal skin*, fired with HQ firing sheet |
|
169-188 |
Sealed Vials = small block of clay + sealed vial sketch + water flask + animal skin*, fired with HQ firing sheet |
Notes:
I would not recommend
firing anything until you start making vials, you will not make any money
back from
buying firing sheets, and firing goes trivial much sooner than actually
making the unfired item.
Only certain skins will work in making vials. These skins have been verified to work:
LQ/MQ/HQ bear pelts
LQ/MQ/HQ cat pelts
Polar bear skins
Puma skin
White/black wolf skin
Grizzly bear skin
Zombie skins
Blackburrow gnoll skin
Mist wolf
These will not work:
Anything ruined
Deathfist pawn scalp
Giant rat pelt
A piece of rat fur
Shadow wolf pelt
Giant snake skin
Silk swatch
Kerra guard skin
