Physical Description:
-Vehicle Mode: Has the same form as Kaneda’s bike from "Akira", except it is colored neon blue and has two turbo boosters, one on each side of the rear tire and rim. The windshield is clear, tires black, and rims chrome. As he speeds off, a line of neon blue light trails him.
-Robot Mode: Instead of two feet and legs, he has one wheel for a foot and one large leg that has two hydraulic and shock absorption systems built into it. The two turbo boosters are located on the outside of the upper half of the leg. The leg breaks off into two separate piston-like extensions right before it connects to the pelvic region, which is shaped like an arrow head pointing down. His abdomen area is exposed wires, but each wire is protected by a super strong plastic coating. The bottom of his chest is concave in shape in the front and back, half a hexagon, and on the sides is convex with half a hexagon. His chest is extending out slightly to form a small box that is formed from the vehicle mode windshield. (Think Kup’s chest.) On his back, his front tire is held there with the handles extending at an angle behind his shoulders. His shoulders are smooth and spherical, but the chrome step bars from his vehicle mode start from the shoulders and end before the elbow. His left forearm is smooth and holds the computer link pad on it, hidden by a plate. His right is broken up into four sections, separated by a slightly raised ridge that matches the rest of his body. The four sections are colored white and are horizontally lined, looking like filters. His hands are normal, four fingered-one thumb hands that have a raised ridge that are on the sides and the knuckles on the top of each hand. His head is shaped like Rail Racer’s from Robots in Disguise, where he has the top that extends back farther on his head. He has humanoid features for a face and has a surrounding piece that protects the side of his face and his chin, colored white, that connects to the top section, with is a translucent blue. His face is a lighter neon blue while the rest of his body is neon blue. The tires are black and have chrome rims.
Personality: Think of Technobyte as Robin Hood or Batman. He works outside of the system, sometimes using unjust ways, to bring out and destroy the injustice and corruption in the system. His goals are very simple, to serve and protect Cybertron by any means necessary, and he means to. He is not a selfish bot nor does he seek rewards, but he is willing to do anything to combat injustice, such as theft or homicide. The one thing that he mostly does though is he extracts justice not by face to face encounters, but through the various system connections set up throughout Cybertron. There are the few occasions were he prefers to be there to do his work, but these are rare, making it hard for him to be seen or caught.
Technobyte is a bot who loves what he does, what he has done, and what he has learned in life. He puts to use the skills that he learned during his days as a PCPD officer and is not a ungrateful dirtbag. He holds a great respect for his teachers and the PCPD as well, along with those who share similar trades with him. But, due to the PCPD’s views and opinions against him, he has lost some respect for them, but he understands where they are coming from. Despite this knowledge, he still continues to do his thing. He could never see himself working with the PCPD again, though they share similar goals, he feels that they are too restricted to fully fight injustice. Occasionally though, he might decide to leave the cops a little gift, usually in the form of information towards a certain case they are working on, but otherwise he keeps out of there business.
He is very down to earth, so he does not get cocky or arrogant when he does something extraordinary nor overly imaginative in certain situations. When he likes to, he does his "WHOOOOOO!" and looks at things in a realistic sense. Thus his time as an officer has taught him. Although he is proud of his skills, he does not feel the desire to teach them to others nor find others who could compete with him. If they are there, fine, he’ll deal with them however he wants to at that time, but he couldn’t care. He has taken somewhat of a liking towards the life of a loner, but has no difficulty interacting with others. Through his work and his accident, he has come to live by the "Don’t Trust Anybody" philosophy, which he adheres to strictly, thus he always works alone and seeks no female companionship.
Armament:
-Rapid Fire Blaster: This is his only true weapon per say. It is based off the Terran uzi, but is slightly larger. It is colored black and has a curved handle, where as he holds it normally, but the bottom extends and curves under his arm and the top extends back further as well. The clips are held in the bottom part of the handle, and each clip holds 100 rounds. There is a small button on the actual handle that ejects the empty clip, allowing for quicker reload. He carries ten extra clips. While it fires five rounds a second, it is really not that powerful. When he fires, the result is a large explosion-like light at the end of the barrel, making the target think it is deadly, but it is relatively harmless, only able to extensively damage weaker metals and armors with a full clip.
Equipment:
-Laptop: Always carries a trusty laptop computer with him. It looks like a standard Terran laptop, but the hardware is phenomenal. This laptop has 100 gigabytes of disk space, a 20 gigahertz processor, a wireless connection into the Cybernet and all forms of distant communications. It is unknown to others what kind of software he possesses on this computer, but it is rumored that he has numerous hacking programs as well as numerous programming systems for various needs. It also possess super firewall protection, keeping it extremely safe from other hackers on Cybertron. Is covered in platinum metal and poly-carbonated plastics allowing for maximum protection.
-Wireless Computer Link: Built into his forearm is a small link-up system wireless connected to his laptop. Allows him to access his files from anywhere on Cybertron through the Cybernet. It also allows him to give basic commands to the laptop, such as delete or create a new file and what not. But the biggest feature is the Meltdown System, where in the case that he or his computer are discovered or captured, he inputs a series of three passcodes which destroy any and all evidence found within his laptop or the pad on his forearm.
-Holo-Imager: A holographic system built into his superstructure that allows him to use numerous disguises when in public. Connected directly to his neural net, it creates a flawless holographic image around his body at the mere thought of it. But the system has a flaw. He can only use this system for 20 cycles straight before the image begins to skip, which is noticeable by the small flashes that occur. When this occurs, the system must be shut down and given a 7 cycles cool down period or permanent damage may occur to the system, and Technobyte himself.
-Spark Damper: Also built into his internal systems is a dampening system that discreetly covers up his spark signature by enveloping his internal vitals in a reflective radio wave, which causes spark detection waves to bounce off his body, making it appear he is not there. Once again, this system has a flaw, same as the Holo-Imager, where it can only be used for up to 20 cycles before requiring a 7 cycle cool down period.
-Vocal System: Has a sort of loud speaker built into his vocal systems that allow him to emit his voice at a higher and louder pitch and tone when he desires so. He also has a transmitter built into this vocal system that taps into the police radio systems and only these system. These features allow him to negotiate more clearly and easily, when needed, and it also keeps his hands free during these times, allowing him a hands-on stance of the situation.
-Flash Bangs: These are small, circular disks, measuring only five inches in diameter and are chrome in color. He carries ten of these at a time. Each have a button in the middle and when pushed, after a two second delay, explode in a bright flash of light. This light is so bright, that it can temporarily blind someone who stared directly at it for up to a whole day, but there are no permanent effects. Uses these for getaways or other similar situations.
-Goggles: These are not goggles that he slides on over his optics, but rather built in optic shielding able to withstand the light created by the flash bangs. These by no means can allow him to look directly into the light and not be blinded, but rather protects his optics from the surrounding light, allowing him to keep his attention unaverted.
-Chest Compartment: His superstructure was built so that his chest extends out slightly, creating a sort of compartment. This is really his pocket of sub-space, where he keeps his flash bangs, blaster, and his computer when transporting it.
Traits: Technobyte has few quirks to him. His biggest trait is that every time he does something exceptional with his skills, he let’s out a Ric Flair-like "Whooooo!" just for the hell of it. Also when he is working, he tends to tap his foot incessantly, as it seems to help him along.
History: Technobyte was originally brought online as a Maximal, but his name back then was different and unknown by anyone. During his childhood years, he would admire the police and heroes of old war stories, wanting to be like them. And then he grew up and took to schooling and what not. He was educated in the fields of criminal justice, as well as your basic social studies, history, arithmetic, art, etc. Eventually, he enrolled himself into Cybertron’s Police Academy, which he spent the next ten stellar cycles of his life at, studying numerous aspects of the field, ranging from basic training to psychology to him major, negotiations. He graduated with high honors and joined the PCPD. He followed his major and took to the field of Negotiations, which allowed him to do his job, but also stay in the background and continue his studying, mainly in computer science. For more than forty stellar cycles, he worked for the PCPD as a negotiator, but was beginning to turn his life towards computer science.
Then, one day, he was called to duty on the scene of a hostage situation. The perpetrators had twenty hostages under their guns and he went strictly by the book. He managed to save 10 hostages before the terrorists detonated a bomb, killing themselves and the remaining ten hostages. For the next few days, he held the blame on his shoulders, the lives of those 10 innocents hung onto him, and his peers tried to convince him otherwise. Eventually he returned to himself and his job. He continued his studies of computer science, only twice as strenuous as before. Eventually, he tested at the Academy and aced the Computer Science test. Just when his life was looking up, it took a bad turn. While doing a simple routine patrol, he and his partner, a Predacon named Azimo, ran into a small group of criminals trying to rob a bank. They went in to take down the criminals and after a few minutes of yelling back and forth, he was caught in what appeared to be a crossfire. As he fell to the ground, the shots stopped and he looked up to see Azimo standing over him, smiling a crooked smile as he fired off one last shot before he went offline. At least he appeared that way.
After being left for dead, the criminals left and he laid there. Before the police got there though, a stranger came by and picked up his body and quickly scurried away. Eventually though, he came out of his little stasis and found himself in a new body, a prototypical body. He eventually found out that he was taken by an underground militant organization bent on waging it’s own war on all of Cybertron and he was chosen to be the first of some kind of new breed of Transformers, but he managed to escape before they could do the necessary experiments. Now, he was used twice and he began to get pissed off. He considered going back to the PCPD, but decided not to, thinking that they could get along without him. He decided to drop back into the shadows and live in solitude, but he kept up on the going ons of Cybertron. After nearly a 50 stellar cycles, he finally snapped after witnessing all the corruption within the system that he once served, so he took it upon himself to change things.
He began his little career by putting his knowledge to the test and managed to reroute some electronic credits fom the First National Bank of Cybertron to a privately created account of his own. With this money, he began to get better equipment and continued his little "Robin Hood" schtikt. He robbed a few more banks before going after the big dogs. He decided to point out the corruption that dwelled in society. The first target he chose to expose were a couple of corporations that were the cornerstones for crime syndicates on Cybertron and throughout the galaxy. He managed to hack his way into the systems of each corporation and destroyed everything that was electronic, save for the files that he transferred to his own computers, with a complex virus that he created. When the police investigated it, it appeared nothing more than a simple crash, no trace of a virus, but word got around underground. His second target were two upcoming and very influential politicians. Through his surveillance of Cybertron, he found out that the two politicians were being financed by an underground criminal organization who simply wanted to get some revenge on the world that hunts them. He managed to get them to himself after a big party and he basically snapped their logic circuits and wired a nuclear bomb into their vital systems, so that if they died, the bombs would go off and level a very large portion of the city. Once he was done, he left them in an abandoned building with a simple message that said:
With that done, Technobyte left the scum to lay and returned to the shadows, once again watching Cybertron.
Reputation: To all of Cybertron, he is merely an urban legend. Some say he is a power working from within the political system to bring the social structure down, to being a mere computer virus. After the unexplained destruction of a couple major corporations and the substantial losses suffered by numerous banks, the rumors began. It wasn’t until after two politicians were turned into vegetative nukes that the myth was given the nickname "Cyber Psycho". Since he has never been seen or caught, Cybertron’s Underground thinks of him as a apparition, while the PCPD’s feelings are unknown.
Criminal Status: Up until recently, he was on the Most Wanted list, but was taken off due to his "inactivity". He is wanted for 2 counts of Homicide, 5 counts of Sabotage, and 3 counts of Grand Theft.
