Limit Breaks:
Limit Break Level 1:
-Elemental Jab: Whenever he possess an Esper of elemental nature, such as Ifrit or Shiva, he is able to channel the elemental power of that Esper into his glove and transfer it onto his enemy when he delivers this powerful punch. Depending on the Magicite inside his glove, it will cast ice, fire, etc…
-Richter Axe Handle: He clasps his gloved hands together and uses his raw strength to drive them onto the ground, as if there were a jackhammer. He then channels his chi, or life energy through the ground, and when it arrives underneath his enemy, it erupts from the ground like a volcano and carries the enemy with it, eventually dropping him back to the ground.

Limit Break Level 2:
-Hand of Fate: He digs his lucky coin out and flips it. If it lands on heads, then Cortez will jump onto his enemy and tackle him, then proceed to pummel his enemy with both of his gloved hands. If it lands on tails, then he will do the same except he will only use one of his fists to pummel his enemy. Either way, he hits for ten times, twenty for the first, usually doing around low-medium damage.
-Flaming Fury: Both of his forearms are engulfed in a blue blaze and he attacks his enemy. He delivers five alternating punches, starting with his left fist, into the enemy’s gut, then ends with a powerful uppercut, fist first.

Limit Break Level 3:
-Cross-Blast: He crosses his arms at the wrists, so his open palms are facing him, and his hands begin to glow. He then turns his hands around and pushes them out, eventually them over each other. He then fires off a powerful blast of blue ki energy, which engulfs his enemy and deals damage equal to half of the enemies life.
-Power Up: Used in conjunction with the Cross-Blast, this merely powers up his strength and chi, allowing a more powerful Cross-Blast to be used. He then proceeds to execute the Cross-Blast. Deals about 1.5% x the damage of a normal Cross-Blast.

Limit Break Level 4:
-Omega Effect:When called upon, it does nothing, at least to the naked eye. His life energy will begin to boil and no matter how it occurs, he can only be taken down to 1 HP, and not die. When he reaches 1 HP left, his eyes will glaze over and he falls into a trance. Then he begins to shake and glow with a blue aura, which then explodes into a huge blast engulfing all his enemies. There is also a 50/50 chance of death for Cortez when the Omega Effect is used.

Job: Free-Lance Worker

Appearance: He stands about 5 foot 5 and has an excellent build, much like that of a kickboxer, but has more muscle for his size. He wears black baggy pants made of a silk-like material, but stronger. He also wears a black vest (like the one worn by Gotenks in Dragonball) that only covers half his torso and is open down the middle of his chest. He has a chin only goatee that comes down to the middle of his throat. He has a scar on his right cheek from a fight. He also has a black bandanna wrapped around his forehead. His hair is short and spiked. His gloves have the look of mechanical gloves, as they look like metal, and they are twice the size of his hands. On the top of the left glove, there is a compartment where he puts his Magicite.

Personality: A peaceful man who spent half his life in the mountains near Wutai. He finds kickboxing and tai chi and outlet for to release his aggression inside. He is very friendly and make friends with whoever he comes into contact with, unless they attack him. He feels that the world is a place of constant turmoil and that you can never banish the evil that lurks about, only delay it, and he is willing to give all he has to help offset this evil.

Hometown: Wutai, Wutai Mountain Area

History:While he was born in Wutai, his parents were originally from Costa Del Sol, and they sought refuge in Wutai after their boat was attacked by monsters. His father died protecting him family, while his mother died right after his birth. He was taken in by a man named Lokai, who was a master martial artist. As Cortez grew up, Lokai taught him the art of tai chi and self defense, which eventually paid off. Also growing up, he became close friends with the ninja known as Yuffie. Together, they got into much trouble and had many adventures. One day, while traveling through the mountains, they were attacked by a group of hi-tech bandits. Their martial arts background paid off and they managed to drive the bandits away. During their flee, one of the bandits dropped a pair of weird looking gloves, which Cortez picked up and looked over. Knowing that these gloves would enhance his martial arts, he put on the gloves, but he cried out in pain as the gloves melded to him, becoming a part of him. Yuffie helped him back to Wutai and took his to Lokai. After careful examination and consideration, Lokai told Cortez to go live in the mountains and try to find inner peace with his new-found body. And so Cortez left Wutai and sought refuge in the mountains.

One day, a traveler was passing through the mountains and came across Cortez. The man was named Kaiser and they quickly became friends. Kaiser was a champion kickboxer and he taught his skills to Cortez, who easily mastered them with his martial arts background. Eventually, Kaiser left Cortez, who then returned to Wutai. Upon returning to Wuati, he learned that Yuffie had left, and so Cortez left to find her, not knowing of her fate.

Special Skill:
-Double-Glove: Due to his kickboxing experience, he is able to use two gloves with ease.
