Rimeland elves give from 3xp to 7xp, depending on the elf. Low level characters should look for a lone elf, of groups of 2 or 3 easy ones. Try waiting for the re-spawn, so the group is at its minimum number. The Elder elves (all NPCs with names) give around 15k xp. All the elves drop quite a bit of money (usually in eagle). I've listed all the elves, followed by about how much xp they give and their difficulty ('very easy' PL2, 'easy' ~PL4, 'medium' ~PL10, 'hard' ~PL13, 'extra hard'~PL16). They are also listed from approximate difficulty. All estimates are aproximate, and vary from guild to guild. *Elven Child <1k xp 'very easy' The children are for decoration really. If you have fangs or a good corpse spell, killing them may be worth it. *Elven Lyrist ~3-4k xp 'easy' Comes in groups of 3. *Elven Novitiate ~3-4K xp 'easy' Comes in groups of 2/3. *Elven Envoy ~4K xp Comes in groups of 3-5. 'Easy' like the Elven Novitiate, but in a large group they can be tough. *Elven Artificer ~4-5k xp 'easy' 1-2 in the Northern Outpost, 1 on the Trailhead, 5 in the Charcoal Lodge. The fur trimmed boots they wear sell for a lot and are good boots. Low-level characters should attempt the lone elf. *Elven Scout ~6k xp 'medium' These elves wield spears which do a lot of damage compared to the 'easy' elves. Try using direct-damage spells- they will probably work better than stunning spells here. You can find scouts in the southern outpost, the north tip of Trailhead, or 4n in from Center of Town. *Elven Sentinel ~6-7k xp 'hard' These do more damage than the 'easy' elves, but less the the scouts. However, Sentinels take *a lot* of punishment. These really are a waste of time, unless there's nothing else to kill. *I don't know the exact amounts of xp any of the elves listed here give off (which explains the ~). All of the above elves carry around equipment that doesn't sell for much (dagger, quarterstaff, jerkin, longsword). *Sled Dog ~2k xp??? 'hard' These dudes bite... hard. No point in fighting them, period. On the northern part of trailhead, there are 1-2 sled dogs paired with an elven scout. If you want to kill the scout, use a spell like lullaby or pacify to stop the dogs from having their dinner. *Pyrari ~15k xp, 4 crown, bone flute, wolven mask 'hard' 16/15 bards can use the bone flute. The wolven mask is a good mask. When fighting Pyrari, stun her to prevent her very nasty specials (ep drain, imitation fandango [3 attacks], stunning special, and imitation dirge [direct-damage]). *Mychos ???xp 3 crown, fur trimmed boots 'hard' Stun him to prevent his ep-draining special. Harder than Pyrari. *Kalrapi ?18-20k xp, mithril breastplate, longsword, dagger, some crown 'hard' Uses lots of damage specials. Stun him or kill him faster than he can kill you. *C'etlene ???xp, 3 elven daggers, money 'very hard' Keep her stunned to prevent sp-draining and damage specials, which she does *a lot*! *Sis'Lancel ???xp, runic scroll (Identifies into scroll of fiery/icy runes), money, 'hard'/'very hard' Definitely keep Sis'Lancel stunned down to prevent him from summoning a Sentinel. He's very hard if you don't have a good stunning spell. The scroll is useful on bladed weapons. *Shaman ???xp, wolf pelt, ceremonial rattle, ?money, 'very hard' Summons polar wolves (sled dogs on steroids) as his special. Definitely not worth fighting. -passed on from the Ancients to Shatter the Noble Bard
