First Pern experience: My friend Meg was reading a thick book (unusual for her), so I asked to see the title. It was the Dragonriders of Pern trilogy. Skimming through a few pages, I decided that I had to read it. Annoyingly enough, the library did not have any additional copies, so I 'borrowed' the book from Meg without her knowing, read the entire thing over the weekend, and gave it back to her. She was shocked, nonetheless, but we both became serious Pern fanatics after that.
Anything else? Lesse... I'm Wiccan, I can't drive yet, my fave phrase is 'Bugger off', 'Bugger this', just plain 'Bugger', and I write pretty much everything in the Futhark (Viking Runes that are pretty much dead), and spell everything Brit-style, as I'm 1/8 British and about 3/4 Welsh. (and yes, I can speak Welsh)

First Pern experience: "The Smallest Dragonboy" read aloud in 5th grade. (1986) Thank you, Mrs. G! I was completely floored, and ran to the library. I checked out Dragonsong, and didn't get it at all. :) By seventh grade, I was a goner. I remember reading the DLG in the back seat of the car during Driver's Ed, and trying not to get caught!
Anything else?: When I grow up, I want to be a novelist, or the trombone player in a ska band. Since growing up seems unlikely, (plus, I'm a clarinetist) I think I'll stay in public administration. I have two baby nephews whom I can't stop talking about on the OOC list.
