Aacron

This large omnivore is often found just about anywhere on Tryne, except the tundra, mountains, and marshes.  They will just about everything, including kats and minena if they can catch them.  They tend to be slow and ponderous, but can put a quick burst of speed to catch their prey.  Their tusks are often used to spear an animal, although they are also used for mating.  Aacron tend to live solitary lives, only coming together to mate.  Females will care for the young for upwards of a year, and they can grow to be as large a full grown Forest Kat.

Commry

Commry are swift hunters that most often live on the plains.  They most often hunt smaller game, although they will go after the occasional minena or young kat.  They tend to live in packs of up to ten, although there have been packs seen up to twenty.  Females lead the pack with males doing most of the dangerous hunting.  They can run for hours on end, and once they have their mind set on an animal will rarely let it escape alive.

Cycan

 

A huge cow like animal that lives in the desert and plains. They are relatively stupid and tend to live in small herds. They have sharp horns and bulky body to defend themselves with.  They are often preyed upon by kats and minena alike.  Males are loners, while the females are the ones who live in groups.  Females are often very protective of their young and will chase a kat or minena miles if the come close to a calf.

Durik

An almost exclusive water creature, the Durik is often found in large lakes and in the oceans and seas.  Known to hunt kats, they are swift swimmers with the ability to stay under water for long periods of time.  They come on land rarely, but do so to give birth and to mate.  Males are often larger than the females, although both are at least the size of a gurgan. 

Eniusqi

 

Water creatures, eniusqi generally live alone. They have front paws in which to go on land to lay their eggs, but that is the only time they come ashore. They are both preyed upon by the kats, and adult eniusqi will prey on kats. They grow rather large, about the size of a humpback whale, and superb predators.  Most often they are found only in the deep seas, but the young and very old are known to come closer to land to hunt.

Fleerun

 

A large carnivorous animal, they will often hunt down kats and minena and eat them. They are known for their fleetness of foot and can over take a kat in a run. They are hard to kill, as their skin is like armor, and live in packs. They are about the size of a level 6 Forest Kat, and roam the whole of Tryne except for the water.  Packs rarely exceed the number of twenty, although there have been reports of seeing packs of fifty or more.  Most often it is the strongest male and female that lead the pack.  All members can breed though, and pups are often looked after scrupulously. 

 

Froggen

 

This creature is omnivorous and solitary in nature and will eat just about anything. They are larger in size, about the size of a mid-aged Plains Kat, and live in the swamps and rivers and lakes of Tryne. They sometimes prey on kats, but that is only if they can catch them. They are slow and ponderous on land, but swift in the water. Some kats consider them a delicacy to eat, but most find their flesh revolting.  They lay eggs once a year, and they tend to be sought after by kats for their unique flavor. 

Gaileef

Considered the giraffe of the plains and forests, gaileef are huge herbivores.  They tower above all kats, being about twice the size of an adult Desert kat.  Gaileef are gentle herbivores, and are slow plodders, but are known for reaching high speeds if they feel the need to run.  Kats rarely hunt this animal as it is difficult to pierce their thick skin.  Baby gaileef are born live, and live with their mother for upwards of five years.  Gaileef are solitary creatures, usually only coming together to mate.

Gotenk

Smaller herbivores, these creatures are almost exclusively domesticated for food.  They are often kept in cities and in Clans as a source of easy food.  They can live in a wide variety of places, and although there are a few wild varieties, most are domestic.  They are about the size of a young Forest kat, and are sometimes kept for the rich milk they produce for their young.

Grulper

Living almost exclusively in the mountains, grulpers will eat just about anything that comes their way.  They have the innate ability to change their skin color to blend into their surroundings, and will often hunt Mountain kats.  Grulpers mouths can open wide enough to fit half a Mountain kats body into its mouth.  They often grow to be twenty feet high and the tend to live either singularly or in pairs.

Gurgan

 

About twice the size of a Desert Kat, they are predators that will often go out of their way to kill kats. They have many sharp spines and horns, and have the unique ability to build a Shield around themselves. They are extremely hard to kill, and are dire enemies of all kats. They are surprisingly smart and ruthless. They tend to live alone, but a mated pair living together is not unheard of.  Gurgan can live in just about every area of Tryne, except the tundra, water, and high mountains.  They are most often seen though in the plains, deserts, and forest areas.  Young gurgan leave their parents after five years of learning and join a group for a year or more, and are often known to terrorize kats and minena alike.

Hi'ner

 

Hi'ner are one of the many sea creatures that will actively hunt kats as a food source.  There are many different varieties, being like the whales of our world.  Some live in pods while others live singly or a female with a calf.  They can grown as large as 200 feet, and are considered one of the biggest dangers of the sea.  Young hi'ner are hunted by kats for their flesh, and are considered a delicacy.  Adult hi'ner are also hunted, but not as actively. 

H'kir

 

The H'kir is a large bird that cannot fly. They are about the size of an elephant, and are extremely fast runners. They use camouflage and their sharp talons for self defense. They live mainly on the plains and in the forest. The live in flocks, and reproduce quickly.  They are often kept in herds for cities and Clans alike for food sources. 

Jaanik

A swift herbivore, jaanik are most often found in the plains.  Jaanik live in groups of up to ten, each with sensitive hearing and an excellent sense of smell.  These creatures are often hunted, and some Clans have domesticated a few for consumption.  Young females are often allowed to stay in the herd the were born in, but males are forced out to live on their own.

Katsu

 

Ranging in size from dog to moose, they mainly live in the Mountains, Valleys, and Caves. Each is suited to where it lives. Their defense is the ability to hide their heat (in the Caves) and has the ability to turn itself into a rock to get away from predators. They can also have a tendency, when a mother is guarding young, to attack kats. They live in a mother/young group, with the father having nothing to do with the group, and once the young are grown, strike off on their own.

Keskin

 

A lizard like creature, they live in small packs. They are creatures of the valleys and forests, blending in well with their ability to change their skin texture and color. They are agile and fast, and grow to be about the size of a horse.  Sometimes they are hunted by kats, but they are often found to be bad tasting and not worth the trouble of finding.  They grow to the size of a horse, and will sometimes hunt down young kits and minena.

Kree

A two legged creature that roams all of Tryne. They are about the size of an adult Old Mystic and live in large packs. They have sharp eyes and a sharp sense of smell. The whole pack has a sort of psychic link with each other so that a warning can be passed within a blink of an eye.  Both  males and females live in the herd, and young are cared for by the whole herd.  They are often hunted by kats, and many times are kept in herds for both Clans and cities as an easy food source.

Layrooy

The chickens of the kat world, layrooy are heavily domesticated with few kind living in the wild.  They grow to be about the size of horse to the size of pig.  Layrooy come in many different colors and varieties, and some are known to make pets out of them instead of eating them or their eggs.  They are often kept in cities and in Clans as a constant food source, and can be prepared in many ways.  Many seem to prefer them cooked instead of raw.

M'kan

Large herbivores, the twenty foot tall m'kan tend to live singularly in the plains, forests, and marshes.  They have a very thick hide and have the tendency to change their color to fade into their background.  They flesh has an odd flavor that some find delicious while others find it revolting.  Young m'kan are prized for their tenderness and sweet flesh flavor.  M'kan beaks are often made into spear heads or tools by the minena.

Nightcreeper

 

A small creature, they are very common and seen as a pest. Think of a cockroach. They live just about anywhere and are seen as harbingers of disease and are often killed on sight.  They are like rats and cockroaches in that they can live anywhere and everywhere.  Nightcreepers often live in large numbers where there is a large population of kats or minena.

N'kau

Quiet omnivores, n'kau live in the forests, plains, mountain, desert fringes, and near the water.  Few kats hunt these peaceful creatures as they are both fleet of foot and hard to catch unaware.  N'kau are devoted to their young, which they care for over a period of three years.  N'kau can grow as large as a mid Level Forest kat, although they rarely reach this height.  N'kau spines are prized for the odd sound that is created when wind is blown through them. 

Opsin

 

A furry snake like creature, they are large in size and live mainly in the tundras and mountains. As young they are preyed upon by kats, but as they grow larger they in turn will prey upon kats, usually kits. They are surprisingly fast and cunning, and will sometimes chase down a kat then leave it, just enjoying the chase.

Racoo

Another domesticated animal, the racoo is equivalent of our goat or cow.  They are kept both as food sources and for the milk that females produce constantly.  They are often quiet tempered, and are sometimes made into beloved pets.  Racoo young are often eaten as their flesh is tender and sweet.  Racoo in the wild are a rare site, but some to live in the deep areas of the forests and on secluded plains. 

Ru

 

A rodent like animal that is a staple of the kat diet. They are anywhere from medium sized dog to a bigger than a Desert Kat in size. They come in many varieties and can live just about anywhere, even in the water. They are extremely agile and fast, and have tendencies to live in family groups, with the males leaving to seek out other groups. They are one of the most populous and varied creatures on Tryne.  Many are bred for the sole purpose for food, and are a favorite animal to keep in herds for slaughter for big cities like Alcaine and Baaroo.

Seemi
 

About the size of a moose, they are a source of food to mainly Sky and Forest Kats. They can glide for miles on front legs that have been elongated with webbing to allow them to glide. They are swift gliders, and are very maneuverable in the air.  Once they land though, they tend to be ungainly and easy to capture.  They live in large 'flocks' led by a single adult female.  They are renowned for their tenderness and are often sought after as a food source.  They are considered a delicacy outside of the forests and cliff areas.

Segun

 

Segun are shy quiet herbivores. They live in pairs to groups of four. They have keen eyes and an even keener sense of hearing. Their are preyed upon by kats of every sort as they live almost everywhere. Their only defense is their ability to shift and shrink in size. 

Se'li

 

Smart and cunning, they can range in size. They have the ability to change their size and color. They will sometimes kill kats, and live everywhere except in the water. They live alone, and hunt alone.

Sheltor

 

Large omnivorous creatures, Sheltor are swift creatures who live singularly. They are about the size of a Level 6 Plains Kat, and are extremely good at hiding. They are sometimes hunted, but are usually left in peace as they are surprisingly rare and hard to find. They live just about anywhere, but they are mostly found in the plains, mountains, and forest.

Siski

 

A mountain creature that resembles a mountain goat. They live in large herds, with the dominant male being the leader. They are about the size of giraffe, and are quite tasty. They are a mountain kats favorite food.  They are often kept as herd animals for slaughter in both Clans and for cities.

Sqeergi

 

A large swamp creature that has a huge mouth and two legs. It waits under water with only its eyes and nose above the water. They are notorious for eating kats, and can fit a whole Marsh Kat in its mouth.

 

Swin

 

The size of a Beach Kat, they are swift swimmers and will sometimes attack kats. Their defense is their sharp spines and claws. They live in small pods that usually live in the ocean, but some have been found in large lakes.  Kats will sometimes consume them, but mainly they are left alone as their flesh has an oily taste to it.

Sywalker

Sywalkers are huge omnivores that live on the plains and in the deserts.  The have a thick skin and huge claws on their front feet for defense.  These creatures are hunted only in desperation, or by a group of young kats trying to prove themselves.  Young sywalkers are heavily protected by the group of up to four that they live in.

Tundrax

Tundrax, as their names imply, live only on the tundras of Tryne.  They are often hunted by the Tundra kat, and many are domesticated for easy consumption.  Tundrax tend to live alone or in small groups of up to five.  They are slow moving with a thick layer of blubber to keep them warm.  Their main defense is their wonderful eyesight, and the ability to create a flash of light to blind their hunters. 

Ursen

A completely domesticated animal, the ursen are used for both their fur and their meat.  Ursen can grow to the size of an elephant, although most aren't allowed to grow that large.  Found most often in cities and in Clans, ursen can sometimes be the staple food source of a Clan.  Both minena and kats keep these creatures.

Venic

 

A cave dweller, they are renowned for their ability to stick to just about anything. They are lone animals that are omnivorous. They grow to be about the size of a seven year old child, and with rarely venture out of the caves in which they live.


Vescrowe

 

A known scavenger, vescrowes are smaller in size.. (about the size of a fufami)...and will eat the flesh of anything dead, including kats. They are not eaten.. unless one is starving. They are very populous, and live everywhere. They are swift and cunning, and surprisingly smart.  Often they are considered pests, and are often exterminated from Clans and cities when they are found.


Wavern

Hunters of the skies, wavern are often most feared by Sky and Plateau kats.  They can grow larger than a Desert kat, or as small as Cave kat.  They are often seen gliding over Tryne, hunting for anything that it can catch.  Any kat can be subject to their attacks, although they  have the tendency to go after flying kats that it sees.  Young wavern are birthed, then left to fend for themselves.  These animals are swift fliers, and the smaller ones can attain great speeds when the go into a stoop.

Wavvit

 

Wavvit are cute creatures that are mini hunters. Kats usually leave them alone as their flesh isn't very good and they are no bother to the kats. They live just about anywhere, except the water and the desert.  They tend to live either in pairs or small groups.  They will often scavenge around cities or Clans, and it is not unheard of for a kat or minena to tame one and make it into a pet.


Wysk

 

About the size of level six Desert Kat, the Wysk are swift but stupid antelope like prey. They live in large herds in the Desert. Their defense is living in herds, their speed, and safety in numbers.  Young are often protected fiercely, but will be abandoned to save the group.  A dominant male leads the herd, and all other males when they come of age are driven away.

Yiwork

Another hunter of Tryne, they rarely hunt kats, but will go after the occasional minena.  Most often they hunt game that are smaller than themselves.  Yiwork are seen more often as a pest, but action is rarely taken as they just come back.  They rarely live in groups of more than three, but there have been sightings of huge packs of up to thirty.  These large packs are dangerous to both kats and minena, although they are very rare.  Young yiwork are live born and are raised for a year before they are left to fend for themselves.
