EARTH ELEMENTAL
Oral Name: Mekavan
Sacred Name: Unknown
Type: Mountain Kat
Gender: None
Base Colour: N/A
Age: Unknown
Length: Any
Height: Any
Special Abilities: Mekavan commands Earth and rocks, can meld with stone and earth,
and to a limited degree can communicate with nature (i.e. stone, earth,
mountains, to some extent trees and animals). He has all the Mountain kat
abilities plus Speak, Telepathy, Shape Change, Shield, and Ward.
Appearance: Mekavan is large and muscular, built like the mountains he governs. His
usual form stands taller than those of the other Elementals, as if in
imitation of those self-same mountains. To compensate, he usually carries
his head low so he isn't staring down at his Brothers and sisters. His body
is furless, covered instead in a thick, leathery skin studded with stones
of various shades of brown, making him look like the walking mountain his
height implies. His mane and tail, as if to make up for the lack of fur
elsewhere, are generously full and usually fluffed. Both fade from a rich
red-brown to a plesant shade of honey-gold.
In the middle of Mekavan's forhead sprouts a gently-curving, rich green
horn, similar to that of the Mountain kat's dragon form, and several ridges
of the same rise between his shoulder-blades. His paws are great scoops
with non-retractable claws of that dark green color, blunted from digging
and constant use for walking, as well as his own preference for non-
violence.
Like the other natural Elementals, Mekavan is genderless, having both extra-
furry tufts to his long, drooping ears and a thick mane, a masculine face
contrasting with his feminine, fox-brush tail. His voice is the only thing
that is definately gender-specific: his is a deep, rumbling bass, pleasant
to the ear if one likes the lower registers. Because of this, and his own
preferance, he generally goes by Brother among his Elemental siblings and
has no qualms about being referred to as a he.
On the whole, Mekavan is a pleasant creature, easy-going by nature and
ready with a smile or a generous, rolling laugh. He is intensely stubborn,
however, and in the worst manner possible: the calm, friendly manner. He
can refuse to change his mind at any cost, but he does it with a smile and
relaxed demeanor. He is slow-moving physically and to arrive at those
decisions he stands by so sturdily often takes him months, even years, of
deep, contemplative thinking. It isn't that he is lacking mentally, it is
simply that he prefers to make sure he has something thought through
completely, considered from all angles
