The story starts 2 1/2 years after Frieza is finally defeated. Goku had been infected with a heart virus. Gohan is running home, but when he arrives he finds Chi Chi, the Ox King, and Master Roshi mourning over Goku, who has finally been killed by the heart virus.

6 months later, Androids 17 and 18 show up and start destroying a city. The Z warriors attack the androids, but one after another are killed by the androids. Vegeta, Piccolo, Chaotzu, Tien, Yamcha, and Krillin are all destroyed. Gohan narrowly escapes the battle. Piccolo has been destroyed, so no one can be revived with the Dragonballs.

13 years later, the androids are still at large and on a worldwide rampage, destroying nearly every city they come across. The world lives in fear of the androids. Master Roshi, Puar, Oolong, and Turtle have taken refuge in a submarine. Chi Chi and the Ox King still live in Chi Chi's house. Bulma and Trunks live at Capsule Corp. Trunks and Bulma are driving home and a news report on the androids comes on on the radio. Trunks decides he has had enough and flies out of the car, against Bulma's advice. He arives just after the androids have left a city, after destroying it and every citizen in it. Soon after Trunks arives, Gohan flies into the city looking for the androids. Later, at Trunks' home, Trunks begs Gohan to train him. Gohan agrees.

When they start training, Trunks powers up to show his true power. Gohan is surprised at how much power Trunks has. He can see that Trunks is clearly Vegeta's son. Gohan and Trunks start sparring, and Trunks gets knocked into a typhoon. Trunks shouts for Gohan to help, but Gohan just taunts him. After Trunks escapes, however, Gohan offers him a towel. Soon after that, Trunks makes an attempt to become a super saiyan. He comes very close, but exhausts himself and collapses before reaching the level of Super Saiyan.

Soon after that, Gohan and Trunks test their powers against the androids. Gohan takes on 17 while Trunks stays hidden and 18 stands back and watches. Gohan is beating 17, so 18 joins 17 and they gang up on Gohan. Trunks jumps in and attacks 18. 18 is playing around with Trunks untill Trunks gets a big knee blow to 18's stomach. 18 gets mad and attacks Trunks with all her power. Gohan loses his concentration and saves Trunks, but gets blastes away by the androids. Gohan manages to hide behind a rock from the androids. The androids don't know where Gohan is, so they blast the whole area in the hope of getting a lucky shot in(but 17 doesnt really like it when he hears no screams or anything when he blast the area. For some reason he likes to know if he got his target or not.). When they fly off, Gohan, who lost an arm in the blast, gives his last senzu bean to Trunks to save him. Trunks hauls Gohan back to Bulma's house and Bulma helps Trunks and Gohan recover.

After recovering, Trunks attempts to reach the level of Super Saiyan again. After failing once more, Gohan and Trunks chat on the edge of a cliff. While they are talking, the androids attack a city in a valley right below the cliff. Gohan starts to take off by himself, but Trunks will not let him. Gohan agrees to take Trunks along, but once Trunks turns his back, Gohan hits him in the back of the neck, knocking him out. Gohan flies off to fight the androids alone. They fight untill Gohan gets the crap beat out of him and then both androids blast him with all their might.I think Gohan would have killed both androids if he had both his hands.

Trunks wakes up and immediately begins to panic. He flies down to the city in search of Gohan. He finds him, laying face down in a puddle of water, dead. Trunks walks over to him slowly, tears pouring down from his eyes. He kneels down next to Gohan and turns him over. Finally, he snaps. He screams at the top of his lungs, crying at the same time. A spark sparks in his mouth and he opens his eyes, which are completely white, and green pupils fade in, and his hair turns gold. He finally reaches the level of Super Saiyan.

3 years later, Bulma is working on a time machine for Trunks to use to take an antidote to Goku 20 years into the past. Trunks hears a report on another android attack on the radio, and runs out to face them. Trunks puts up a very good fight against the androids,and kicks the crap out of them for a little bit and when he knocks them both down he shoots a big blast at them, and he thinks he has won but soon relizes he didnt and quickly uses up all of his energy and is eventually knocked down. And then the androids start to play with him awhile.Trunks gets back up after being blasted many times and starts attacking the androids again by punnching them in the face, but he has been so weakened by the androids the punches dont even phase the androids.17 after awhile gets mad at Trunks because he wont die he keeps blasting him but Trunks does not give up. Bulma takes care of Trunks untill he recovers. Trunks then decides to use the time machine to take the antidote to Goku. Trunks hops in the time machine and takes off as Bulma waves goodbye. He destroys Frieza, then goes back to the future. He comes back during the Android saga. He helps the Z fighters defeat Cell, then returns to his timeline. With his training from the Cell Games, he now has enough power to destroy the androids. He returns to his timeline and destroys Androids 17 and 18 and finds Cell and kills Cell too in his time.He and Bulma and everyone else in his timeline live in Peace.
