He grew up on the planet MakyoStar with his brother Maximus and a human relative of his fathers, Ryudo Li, a human. The only thing his legal guardian knew about his father, Setsuna, was that back in the day of the samurai, his father had to go the war, unable to protect Neo's mother. Knowing that people would come to hunt her because she was not human, she left to the planet MaykoStar, the place where she had lived before. She had learned of the death of I and Maximus' father and went to earth and never returned.
