My story about Edgar:
Edgar is introduced to us by way of Locke (this is kind of like Arvis beget Locke, Locke beget Edgar, Edgar beget Sabin...and etc). After they ran from Narshe, Locke and Terra hide out at Figaro Castle, where Edgar just happens to be the King and Sabin's twin brother (Edgar's the older brother). He tries to hit on Terra, and fails (as he does with most women). We later learn that, while being publicly supportive of the Empire, he's secretly in with the Returners. After Kefka tries to torch Edgar's castle (which then submerges into the desert) while looking for Terra, Edgar finally publicly admits allegiance to the Returners.
