middle ages to the heights of science fantasy now walk the streets.

A young man, lineage barely known, steps forward. His demeanor is
soft, charming... But his blood boils with an ancient curse.

The host of the King of Fighters 2001 tournament, the son of Rugal,
fails to complete his ambition. The tournament, for the first
time in it's history, is cancelled. He disappears, taking with it
his stadium, as if they never existed.

But he has returned. And with it, he brings forth another event...
