Background: Shanshalya lives near her family in a
small Natural village a day's flight away from one of
the larger trading posts. She recently passed her
test to become a healer, but doesn't practice much,
preferring to research the properties of the plants
near her home. She has studied in a Tekno city, but
didn't enjoy it and came home as soon as she could,
resolving not to leave again if she could help it.
She isn't very fond of most animals, excepting birds
(of course), and prefers walking in the woods to
spending time with actual people. She thinks a good
deal about various things, and one thing she
particularly thinks about is the growing power of the
Syndicate, which worries her; she has been known to
speak out against its activities from time to time.
Otherwise she shows little interest in politics.
Shanshalya is very devoted to her family, but
especially to her older brother Amanos, who lives at
the trading post and whom she rarely sees anymore.

Background: Amanos lives in one of the large Natural
trading posts, a day's flight away from the village
where his younger sister Shanshalya (with whom he has
always been especially close) and the rest of his
family live. He studied languages in a Tekno city and
graduated from a Tekno school with a degree in alien
linguistics; he works as a translator for a Tekno
business that is represented in the trading post.
Well, that's what he writes in his letters home...
His family hasn't actually seen him for more than a
day or two since he graduated from the school - and
why would a translator carry so much weaponry?
